Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Mug/freestyle question...

We’re used to the machines at Pop, with different dispensers for each flavor, and you can get ice/water to dispense without a chip. I have a friend who likes to fill her water bottle with ice and water in the mornings on the way out to the parks. Will she be able to get ice and water (or even just ice) without a chip?

We’ll be shelling out our $20 a pop for mugs (I loooove freestyle machines) so not trying to skirt the system, just trying to set expectations.

Thanks!

Yes. Ice and water, along with coffee and hot chocolate, do not require the use of chipped mugs.

Is this a newly refurbished room? Oh oh I see the make up mirror! Will all the rooms have these when they are done?

I'm guessing yes, they will~ Pop Century's renovations have them in their new rooms as well. I'll never get my girls out of the bathroom area now....:cutie:

Thanks for the updates! Checking in on Monday and I’m hoping ground floor of building 2 will be available!

I’m here now, and loving our room in Building 2! Slightly off-topic, but we have 2 unopened gallons of water and 1 unopened 1/2 gallon of sweet tea that we will not be able to use. If anyone is here now or will be here by Fri, we’d be happy to leave it somewhere for you to pick up!

BF and I are booked at POFQ for a week in September! I stayed there almost 15 years ago and he's never been to Disney at all. I can't wait to show him around and see if this resort is as nice as I remember.

My family is considering a stay at POFQ for the first time, and for cost reasons we would probably need to book a standard view room. I tried googling to see what the view would look like from a standard view room as I've read they are mostly parking lot views, but can't find anything. Does anyone have any pics of what the view looks like from a standard view room? I'd love to see them. Thanks!

When I had a standard view it did look out at parking, but with a tree and a couple bushes in the way. Really, though, since you don't have a balcony and people will be walking right by your window to get to their rooms, you may prefer to have your curtains closed and never spend much time at all taking in the view even if it was a good one.

Touring Plans has photos from all the rooms. https://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-port-orleans-resort-french-quarter. What I do is pull up the site map from portorleans.org and pick some rooms that I might be interested in and see what the view is in touring plans.

Booked currently for my holiday trip, Nov 25-Dec 2. I can't decide if I hate the new rooms or not. :guilty: The white bedding on everything just isn't doing it for me in POFQ, though I thought it looked wonderful at the Yacht Club in October. Maybe I'll like it more in person. Haven't decided if I'm going to do POFQ the whole week I'm there or if I'll want to do a split stay. On one hand, I love that I'll be able to take a boat to Disney Springs, but I do love the hot tub & food at Coronado!

We checked in today, too. The resort is very peaceful. The pool and water play area are so colorful and fun. I am impressed. The water slide was tons of fun, also. And we are at the food court. Everything was hot, fresh, and good.
I checked in today for one night too. Got out of Boston early before the snow. We are in building 7 standard view. Room linens very new though room not refurbished. Beds comfy
I have that circular driveway so I have some trees that block the parking lot view. This is my favorite moderate

Interesting! I was checking in beside a woman who had gotten out of Boston just in time, too. It made me wonder if our return to DC would be delayed. No such luck, but I wonder if we crossed paths at check-in.

This is my first moderate, and there were small differences from deluxe, but we liked POFQ. It was a good experience and I feel like there was more variety in the food court.

For those who have taken the bus to Morning EMH at AK what times do the buses pick up? We want to be at AK at 7:45 am. What time should we get to the bus stop? I thought about us getting on the bus at 7:15 but I'm not sure one will arrive around that time.
