Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

What does the Contemporary CL Standard View consist of? Right now we are CL at BC for the end of June/beginning of July, but I keep checking back at the MK deluxe resorts. This one popped up. We stayed CR Atrium Club Level last year with a TPV and loved it, but I do not know what the standard consists of and if I should switch or go back to CR. Thoughts?

Updated the guest list!! :goodvibes

We are currently in San Francisco on vacation and my oldest son has said at least a hundred times "I wish we were in Disney" and in the lounge "this isn't as good as the lounges at Disney" :rotfl: I think I've successfully ruined my children's future travel anywhere outside of WDW. :rotfl2:
I would like to be added to the guest list, please. We will be staying at WL CL September 23rd-29th 2018.

So CR CL Standard View... IMHO one of the best possible views in all of WDW. In some ways, being on the “other” side of the building is like a totally different experience. The TPV side is active, vibrant, the MK always in view. The Bay Lake side... peaceful, serene, incredible views of Bay Lake. Disney vacationing at its finest. Since you have the lounge to get your MK view fix, I actually tend to like this side just a touch better.

Pics are technically from the Tower Club floor... but the Atrium Club floor is just one below this so has identical views. Hope they help!

Oh I always thought I would only want TPV but those are lovely.

As always, "thanks for posting gadad"!

I'm still stalking a passholder discount for my April trip. It's still not available for my AKL CL booking, but it just popped up for Poly TPV CL. I would love that - definitely a bucket list item! I tried to casually suggest it to DH but so far, he's not biting!

Show him this and tell him it's stocked all day starting around noon. Self serve.

Then show him the lovely view...

If that doesn't work, then, well, don't know what to tell you. :-)

Got back last week from our AKL CL stay. We had a rough go the first half of our stay because our rooms’ thermostat wasn’t working properly. The CL staff said they would comp us a future 2 night Standard stay at any deluxe because of it. Just received my email today from Guest Services and it says it’s for a Standard Club level room! Bonus! There are also no date restrictions. I have no idea where to stay or when to go. What would you do? Any suggestions?

You would definitely maximize the value of “two free days at any club” by going with the Grand Floridian, since it is the most expensive one, even if they put you in sugar loaf. So then the question would be would you want to spend the money for the rest of your stay there, or do a split stay, or stay somewhere less expensive for a full trip. If it were the latter, I would look at the Boardwalk just as a personal favorite. :thumbsup2

Wow - so beautiful - and I mean the view and not just the fridge, lol! I will show him that - we're in the middle of a blizzard so maybe memories of the Poly will be too tough to resist! We haven't stayed there in years and never CL -or TPV, lol! And that pool really is so close to the lounge... I have a milestone birthday coming up, and we have a milestone anniversary coming up too, but April is maybe a little far out to play those cards, but still...:flower:

Thanks for the input! This is a tough decision, I’m going to need all the help I can get. Lol

It is interesting, I’ve only asked a few people where they’d stay and everyone has said GF. I never ever considered staying there but now I’m tempted since it’s on Disneys dime. The resorts I thought I wanted to stay at next were WL or BWI. I can’t figure out if I should book where I want or book the best value? My husband is no help because he’s just as conflicted as I am.

Looks like you’ll be staying at GF in Dec and that’s when I’m considering going. You and I just had overlapping stays at AKL CL, maybe we’ll repeat at GF. ;)

Okay CLers, which lounges do you think are the brightest and most cheerful? We just spent a week at Kilimanjaro Club, and while it was comfortable, it was dark and just shades of brown. My husband and I really want lots of sunlight and fun colors for our next stay. So which resorts have that? Thanks :-)

Both Yacht and Beach have brighter club rooms in terms of lighter color scheme/decorating. Not a ton of natural light though. The other club I have stayed at is Poly which is also dark wood, but the huge picture windows on the full wall make it feel very open and bright. My experience is limited to these... until about 75 days from now :).

1. If you use a car, book it before March 21, when parking fees get added.
2. If you've even been tempted to go during a high priced holiday season, especially December when decorations are up, this would be a great opportunity to see the resorts during Christmas!

I'd probably also choose GF, or maybe Poly or CR.

CR Atium cl or Gf in RPC!

1. Ouch! Will do. Thanks for the heads up. I hadn’t seen the news yet.
2. We LOVE WDW at Christmas. Very tempted to book then. :santa:

Oh gosh, décor opinions at a bit subjective. If you don't like brown (neither do we), then the 3 you'll want to avoid are: WL, Poly, and AKL.

There are pictures at the head of this thread that show the décor of each resort CL. The lounges more or less match the décor of each resort and the rooms at each of the resorts , so you can also easily find photos of all of the rooms.

Many CL resort lounges are light, but not necessarily brightly colored. The most brightly colored resorts are the values. AoA is full of fun, Disney themed, bright décor! even if you don't stay there, it is worth visiting for a meal. The central areas of CB are also very colorful. (or were at my most recent visit)

Among the WDW lounges I'd call brightly light are: both GF lounges, BC, YC, and BWK. The CR lounge has a great view, but lounge décor itself is a bit muted.

Over at Universal...The lightest/brightest resort is the new Sapphire Falls. It is white/blue, and we love the décor, but no CL! VERY pretty resort! Just wish they'd add a CL! Royal Pacific lounge is a bit brown- but light brown- and the rooms are quite bright!

You'd probably enjoy the Hard Rock's lounge! It isn't super light, but it DOES have bright colors! The rooms are white and red. Other parts of the hotel are Spanish theme, but otherwise fits your bill, as the WHOLE hotel is HIGH energy, brightly colored, and a lots of fun! (though staff mostly wear black.)

Portofino's lounge is Italian themed. Not super bright, but some cream, and not dark like AKL. The rooms and halls are nice and bright though!

Okay, here’s something else I’m struggling with. I’m not sure I’m interested in a split stay and I don’t want to add nights to the most expensive option. So it would either be 2 nights at the most expensive option or I’d add nights to a cheaper option.

So which would you do: 2 nights at GF/Poly/CR over a holiday or 3-4 nights at BWI/WL/BC/YC during regular season?

Btw, we’re hoping to move to the area later this year, so hopping over to WDW for a quick 2 night stay wouldn’t be a big deal.
