So How Do We Feel About the Changes to Be Our Guest?

I’m really glad we are going one last time in April. I’d pay the $55 if the menu was good. But sounds gross to me. Definitely not worth 2 credits if on Dining plan ( which is already a terrible value)

I’m sure this has been asked a million times so forgive me, but, will my 12 yr old daughter be able to order a kids meal instead of a $55 adult meal? There’s no way she’s eating one of those adult meals. I hope they are flexible. Thanks.

No one knows yet. As a last resort (if Disney treats the restaurant as a TRUE prix fixe), she will probably be able to order off the kids' menu and receive and adult portion, but be charged as an adult.

I already think BOG is overrated so the changes don't bother me- I have places that I like much better....

We ate dinner at BoG last week and had a pretty bad experience. We commented to the waiter about the problems. He explained to us about the upcoming changes (which we had not previously heard about). He said they are rebuilding and greatly expanding the kitchen (which is currently inadequate) to make it compatible with the change to signature status. Afterwards, the manager on duty came by our table to apologize for the issues and gave us vouchers for free t-shirts. It seems premature to evaluate the new place BoG since it hasn't opened yet. It seems that some people are judging the plans based on the current incarnation which doesn't seem fair. I certainly am not interested in returning to the current version of BoG based on our experiences. But if they really do make it a signature quality restaurant, then I might consider it. My biggest concern is that the cavernous space doesn't seem to align with with signature style dining and I am not sure that menu and kitchen upgrades will change that. Perhaps the ball room will be a bit less of a zoo after the switch.

Never had the urge to eat dinner at BOG, we enjoy the breakfast as its a good value for QS credit, we always save a QS credit for it.

why cant dinner be booked for fall yet (within the 6 mos time period)?? Only breakfast and lunch.
I am wondering the same. I think it is due to the night you're trying to book the dinner. If it is the night of MNSSHP, it isn't available. I wonder if those times just haven't been released yet or if Disney is doing away with all of the MK TS dinners on party nights? We wanted BOG before MNSSHP (just guessing at dates for now...I'm a pretty good guesser), but it wasn't available. I was able to get a BOG dinner reservation, though, for the night we arrive, which is not a night that a party should be taking place.

We are hoping for reservations in September. DH and I liked the current menu and what we’ve heard about the new menu as well. We were planning on BOG regardless as I’ve always wanted to go but never did and I’ve always loved Beauty and the Beast. Will it be worth the 2TS credits? Who knows but I’ll use them anyway. We try to do as many signature meals as possible on the DxDP.

I had no idea that people going just for cupcakes and water was a thing. I mean the cupcakes are pretty but it’s just a cupcake. Mind bobbling to me.

The cupcake wouldn't be the reason they are doing it, but to get in, enjoy the ambiance, and meet the Beast without buying a heavy meal (especially for the burger and chicken finger crowd). Though, I'm on record in one of these threads saying that this is probably more about leveraging BOG's popularity to get a solid $55 per guest out of it.

"Worth" is obviously relative. Mathematically, at $45 per TS credit, only 4 or 5 signatures will break even on $90 mark even if the most expensive items are ordered (BOG being the worst value). But we can't overlook the placebo effect, some people will spend $90 in credit on a $75 meal without issue, but would stress out staring at a menu thinking about paying the actual $75 out of pocket. And vacations shouldn't be stressful.

I got a BOG dinner reservation in Sept, so if it’s not letting you make one it’s likely a party day. They’re supposed to load dinner times on party days soon. Keep checking. :)

Do children have the same appetizer choices? I don't see this working out for my child. Hate to disappoint him regarding seeing the Beast, but it doesn't look promising at this time.

I don't think WDW has released/finalized either the new children or adult menu yet.
No idea if the Beast shows up for the breakfast or lunch options but if so that's still an option as neither meal is currently scheduled to change.

Beast only appears at dinner

Personally, I believe it is more likely Disney finally figured out how badly they managed that restaurants potential. No matter how many opportunities Disney had to to rectify the mistake, they simply made it worse. It is my opinion that once they get dinner squared away they will make changes to breakfast and lunch, enforcing breakfast's fixed price and making strict changes to the lunch time menu.

I haven't eaten here as it just didn't interest me. If they make it true signature quality for dinner then I would give it a try. I usually leave MK and eat at Grand Floridian or Contemporary. MK is the only park that doesn't have a signature, so it is about time! I know my thoughts are probably in the minority, but.....
