Extra magic MORNING hours; are they worth it?

Is it worth getting to a park at 8 am for EMH at a particular park? fro what I'm reading it seems EMH may actually attract MORE crowds as people flock to 'take advantage' of the EMH. Is it worth getting up early on your vacation? Are the lines really shorter that first hour or two? Opinions?

We usually skip the early EMH but when we do go we try to plan early fast passes to match up with the park were in. (This way we can get back to our room around lunch when it really starts to get crowded)

I’ve found EMH are good for the more thrilling rides at magic kingdom (space mountain, splash mountain, etc.) the crowds tend to flock to the kiddie rides in fantasy land (and mine train) EMH are also great for the safaris at animal kingdom, we’ve noticed animals are more active in the early morning. Not worth it for Epcot in my opinion since the world showcase isn’t included in EMH.

110% YES!!

WE LOVE MORNING EMH! Yes it's early and it's vacation but we've had so many great experiences doing it. What makes it great is most people on vacation won't do it and TBH, don't know the parks open early or don't care to do it. We've done AK and MK morning EMH and love it.

Yes we always rope drop/use morning EMHs. However we also are midday break people and will park hop to a different park after the break. We can get a ton done in the first 2 hours, use FPs, eat lunch, then leave just as the parks start to fill with those who wake up later.

We rarely use them but like the night time ones. We just don't like standing in the sea of people waiting to get in then the pushing and shoving as people rush to the popular rides. Just not worth it for us. If we happen to be up and happen to be ready we will head to a park but never intentionally do EMH in the morning.

Sounds like you're on the same schedule as us. We do the exact same thing, arrive early and ride almost every major ride by lunch time, then head out around 1 for an afternoon break. Hop to a different park for the afternoon/evening. The parks are completely dead during morning EMH. Honestly, I'm usually awoken by loud neighbors anyway so sleeping in doesn't really happen for me.

How does the EMH change the game plan at AK with FOP? Does it help at all?
We went for early EMH from 7:00-8:00. They let us in AK at 6:30, we walked right on FOP and we were off both FOP and Navi by 7:20. So yes, totally worth it for Pandora but plan on arriving at least 45 minutes before the start of EMH because they've been allowing early entrance

Very much worth it to us! Especially when the EMH is 7 AM at MK. Relatively few people will be awake and at the park that early in the morning.

Totally worth is at Magic Kingdom you can get a lot of the big line rides done in the 1st 2 hours then we schedule fast passes from 11:00 hours on. Of course I still wake up 7 days a week at 04:30 hours without an alarm so its not really early for me.

I think they are worth it, just a note though...not everything is open at MK unless something has changed recently. For example Splash is not open, there is a rope keeping people from going to that part of the park until official park opening time. I found it to work out quite well to be near that rope near opening and then you can quickly do HM, Splash and BTM.

Sorry to hijack- I just have two sidebar questions. Are all parks worth the EMH's? Also, how many people do EMH's in one park and hop to another?

Oh no!!! We’ve never had that issue. I hope it isn’t like this on our next trip :(

I heard the best quote about these from a lady in the park - "the only thing that hurts worse than getting here for early open - is not getting here for early open". I'm not a morning person but we can usually knock out 5-7 rides with no waits in that hour and quite a few in the next. Many people will not get up this early on vacation - I'd rather do more rides (I can sleep later, I'm at WDW!)

I seek out AM EMH.
Many people opt for PM and then are not wanting to get up a whole hour earlier in the morning than they would if there was no AM EMH.
People don't flock to them.
I can get twice as much done in that 1 hour as I can in the 1st hour of a regular RD day.
This is coming from a person that absolutely cannot stand getting up in the morning.
I'm only a morning person at Disney. At home if you speak to me in the first hour I'm awake you will regret it even if I slept in until 10am you still cannot talk to me until 11am lol.
I'm a night owl and routinely stay up until 2am.
My routine really flip flops at Disney. Up at 5:45am and in bed by 11:45pm (or as soon as possible if after that lol)

We like them because my kids and DH get up before the crack of dawn so it is not difficult at all for us to get there by 8.

We love the first couple hours in the parks on non-EMH days. EMH mornings give us another great hour!
