2018 Free Dining Watch Thread V3

It’s about

5.30 am EDT is 7.30pm in Australia according to the clock. I did this a few years ago and it was definitely in the evening it may have dropped around 4.30am that year so around 6.30pm.
I should say I’m in Brisbane so not sure where you are it might be different again depending on which state your in.

If you don't have it already there is no sense to add it since you will have to modify your reservation anyway. If you already have the DP on your reservation you don't have to remove it, but you will still have to modify it, and depending on your package and restrictions, you may even have to book an entirely new package and go back and cancel your old one. It really just depends on how the system works at that time and what you have already reserved
I have 6 nights at pop arriving on sept 23. 4 park tickets with hopper and quick service dining. I dont want a ton of stuff to modify the day of just it case it stops working. So if I take the quick service off now then the day the free offer drops when I modify to free dining offer will it automatically add the dining part

I guess since we booked a BB last fall there is no need for me to get up at the crack of dawn with you guys.

We have our dates and are at CBR. I should of booked BB offers the previous years. Lesson learned!

We are going with another family 11/24-11/30 so hoping to snag free dining. I will need to reserve 2 rooms for my friend and her family. Is there a way to request adjoining rooms online when I book it or will she need to call?

I have a FD BB for December but we may go Labor Day weekend as well so I'm waiting in suspense lol

That's a bummer, barely any November dates!

I certainly hope that All Star Music is included for free dining. Last year it was excluded, and I stayed there with a RO offer. Granted, I hadn't been to All Stars for 18 years, but the place looked like a ghost town compared to Pop! The main pool was fairly full of people, but anywhere else just felt empty. Like during dinner hours, the dining hall was about 90% empty. I don't think Disney made the right decision to exclude it last year. They must have had a bunch of empty rooms.

I added QSDP to my reservation the other day because I thought it would make modifying easier. Now I’m thinking I should cancel it.

Me too. I want the least amount of steps when I modify it when it drops. Come on people this is serious stuff and need answers :scared:

I still find the Tuesday drop date to be odd. I know Disney is under no obligation to release an offer on a particular date, and this could well be true. But, still, I would have bet money it would drop on the 23rd, as it is a Monday.
Black says 23 or 24, so Monday it is.

I don't think it matters one way or another. If you already have it, it'll just make it free. If you don't have it, it will add it. Either way, I'm pretty sure you'll still have to choose which dining plan you want when it gets to that page in the process.

Someone said it would not just make it free they said we would have to modify that also that is the problem we are having to figure out :hyper2:

If you take your free dining offer off now you will have to add a dining plan back when FD goes live. If you leave it on there you’ll still have to modify it. Either way whether it’s stays on or you take it off, you’re going to have to modify your current reservation when FD is available.

All Star Music was included in the 2017 free dining promotion. I was able to book ten nights at Music for our November, 2017 trip. Movies is the one All Star resort that is usually excluded.

It won’t just make it free dining- if you already have a reswrvation with a dining plan you still have to modify your reservation to apply the special offer. There’s really no need to have the dining plan booked in advance since the only reason you booked a package now should have been to get your preferred resort. There will always be a dining plan available for every guest but there won’t always be rooms for every guest.

I understand you have to modify the offer. Then will I have to go in and modify my dining plan as well. My problem is the modify part acts up a lot and doesn’t always work the way it should.

Advice please: which would you choose
2 adults (including one 78 year old with a scooter) 2 children (4,6)
$2500
All Star Music
Dining plan
3-day base ticket
5 night

2185(my FD estimate)
All star Resort
2 day PH tickets (assuming that the requirement if a 2 day and not 4 day ticket for FD)
5 nights

Would love your input. This will be my 3rd trip, but first with children. I am worried that park hoping may be too much. Staying up all day may be a lot on the little ones. I also would just like to rent a scooter in the park which is easier if we don't park hop since scooter in the 2nd park is not guaranteed.

100% Correct my experience with the site is something that should take 5 min takes 30. That’s why you may have to scrap your current trip you’ve already booked and just do a whole new package under the special offer. With their track record and higher than normal usage on the site- that’s my plan of attack. I had a package booked and I canned it for that very reason. I’ve been on the special offers page on and off today and sometimes the first special is Play stay fine and save and you get stitch and the link won’t work and sometimes its the 20% off summer deal. Disney is definitely up to something.
