Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I don't think anyone answered you but I would choose the Arusha. That's the main Savannah with the most animals and the most variety. Uzima has mostly ankole cattle, some zebras and a few giraffes. Did you find them on the 4th or 5th floor? When Jambo was built 5th was the original CL floor and that's why the VP and pres. suites are up there with most of the DVC units but I wasn't sure about the 2 bedrooms. Are they at the ends of the wings or just mixed in with the rest of the rooms?

Thank you for answering. It is tough going to a new hotel. I found the 2 bedroom rooms on the ends of the wings. On the Zebra Trail (one on 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor) (I think this is right) overlooking the Arusha Savannah and one set of rooms is at the end of a wing that is overlooking the Uzima. On the Kudu trail it is also at the end of a wing overlooking the Arusha Savannah. I hope this makes sense.

I will request the Arusha Savannah - and see what we get.

Thanks again! :thanks:

So I guess since those 2BRs are on the end of the wings, you're in for a very long walk back to the lobby/lounge, right? Not going to lie, you're going to get your steps in for sure. ;-)

Regarding the sleeper sofa in the standard room at Poly CL, is it clean enough to let a young child sleep on it?? There are only 4 of us. But since my DS 6 does somersault in his sleep, it would be better to let him sleep on the sleeper sofa. Would the turndown service make the sofa bed for us? Do I need to make a special request for that?? TIA!

Our kids fight over the sleeper sofa. It is not a typical sleeper sofa that are usually uncomfortable. These are twin sleeper sofas and our kids love them. Even now that they are older.

I would request it if you have less than five in the room, otherwise they would have no idea you needed it to be made up.

There are times when we are not 5 in the room and the twin sleeper sofas in the Poly and CR are always made. Always.

You're welcome :)

We do too! We have our favorite(s), but we also like trying new ones. Looking forward to your review and pics when you return :goodvibes.

Thank you - we told our kids and they are all so excited. They loved the room but so excited about staying at the AKL no matter what.

Yes - I figured that. The Zebra rooms look a little closer than the Kudu rooms but I could be wrong. I made a mistake they are not at the end of the wings - only the ones overlooking the Uzima Savannah. Here is a map - I did it quickly on my phone - I put the red marks where the 2 bedrooms are located. It will still be a walk - but I am so excited about the room that it will be like you said - more steps.

No problem! Yes, that makes sense and that's where I was thinking they would be. They should be good size since it appears they are built under the DVC grand villas, so take pics so we can all be jealous! As @GADisneyDad14 said, you'll be in for a long walk to the lounge but the good thing is that all along your walk, they'll be lookout to see the animals, so it's an enjoyable walk. If they have 2 bedrooms on the second floor those might be the best. I a lot of people like the lower floors at AKL so they can get closer to the animals.

The red dot at the end of the zebra trail would be great because that's where all of the animals come in and out. Its quite a spectical to see them all come out and go in, in their herds.

Did you need to request the mousekeeper to make the sofa bed upon checking in??
We either did it ourselves the first day or it was done already. I really don't remember. I think the stuff was in the closet but I'm not 100% sure.

Hello CL gurus, help a newbie out please. Staying at Grand Floridian CL Thanksgiving Week. How can we "take full advantage" of all CL has to offer? I know we will be eating breakfast there every morning and grabbing snacks, but what about other "services"? Our 180 days is May 24th so starting to decide/finalize ADR choices. Should I be contacting the concierge now? Feeling lost and don;t want to miss out on anything available that might make planning easier. Thanks

Agree with this. We saw a lot of animals over in that direction. Frankly way more than we ever saw in front of our room.

There are also animal barns at the other end of Kudu trail, more great animal watching over there as the giraffes know when it's time to go in and will start congregating!

If you're feeling lost, you've come to the right place. We will help guide you through all of this chaos. :-)

Mind if I ask, are you new to WDW or just new to CL? Also approximate number/ages of your party? What sort of "planning" do you need?

I will say, I would keep your expectations regarding "other services" somewhat low. Disney Signature Services (DSS) is a helpful resource to do various things, but they aren't necessarily "planners" in the "concierge" sense of the term. It sometimes helps if you have a clear direction about what you want your plan to be, then can get them to assist where/if needed. Sorry if that's obvious.

But yes, if you would like their assistance, for example, booking ADRs, you should reach out to them to before the 180 day mark to discuss. They need your credit card on file for certain transactions, so might as well go ahead and do that too.

For us, we don't really use DSS for too many things. ADRs and FPs are easy enough to do online myself (and I have control issues!). I do use them for things like adding room requests to my reservation, booking water park or resort cabanas, booking tours, etc.

Otherwise, the folks around here are usually more than happy to help!

I agree with @GADisneyDad14 We have our first CL stay upcoming at Poly. We did our own ADRs and FP reservations as well as reserving a poolside patio at the resort.

DSS reached out to me by phone soon after I made my reservation to offer assistance but I didn’t need at that time.

Since then I have emailed some resort specific questions and made requests such as a full size crib rather than a pack and play. I also requested a specific floor and area of the CL building but not a specific room. They always respond promptly and always remind me that anything I request is just that - a request not a guarantee.

We are not new to WDW, just CL :) Kids are 11 (girl) and 13 (boy). I am a control freak soo will do my own ADRs and FP ahead of time. But if I am interested in booking a boat rental for example, I can use them to do that? Thanks :)

Over the weekend I upgraded our YC stay in September to CL. We wanted to do something special since we are celebrating my sister's birthday. We are so excited to try something different!

Funny thing- I tried to do this by myself online but it showed no availability for CL on my dates under the Enchanted Escape offer. (not exactly in our budget without some kind of discount) However, when I check just the first night of our trip and the next two nights (trip is total 3 nights) I saw the offer wa actually available, just not letting me book it myself for whatever reason. CM on the phone first suggested booking the nights separately, which I was definitely not interested in. But of course, as I suspected, Disney is not going to pass up the chance for me to spend MORE money so she transferred me to guest services who was so helpful and just applied those CL rates to my existing trip. I can't wait for September!
Smart move waiting for guest services to help you switch over. I also took advantage of the Enchanted offer and moved from BC to YC/CL last week. I was on hold for quite a while and my husband convinced me to just book the new room to make sure it wasn’t gone by the time I spoke to someone. I ended up losing the “free” parking; asked if she could waive it since my original was booked before March, put me on hold to check and apologized but said she couldn’t do that. Not a big deal, but I’m just annoyed with the new parking fees...

I will be in need of no planning services with the CL staff since this trip is mostly a resort/relax trip, with the exception of one day at Typhoon Lagoon. I just wonder if the CL team will be trying to contact me in regards to this trip? My only wish, maybe hooking me up with some Zebra Domes!:teeth::teeth::teeth:

I have not been contacted by AKL CL in many years (not sure if this is because it is a DVC reservation or not), I would suggest contacting them if you need something.

I wanted to share something that is really just an interesting tidbit, and it only pertains to this thread because we were staying in a cottage at BWI (which is CL)
When at BWI last week, DH and I decided to run over to Epcot to grab ice cream in France. I wanted an Ice Cream Martini, which is why we didn't just do Ample Hills.
So, we left everything in the room, even phones, and ran over. It was actually liberating, to walk in the park with not only no bag (normal for us) but empty pockets too.
Well, we walked back to France and you'll never guess what happened, my Apple Watch dinged with emails. We were so close to the room it connected to my phone while standing in the back of the France pavilion.
I mean, I knew we were close to the park and all that, we could hear the band in the UK when outside on the porch, and other faint park noises. But I had no clue it was THAT close. We were in the next to the last cottage along the part of the building that faces the Boardwalk, #1211

I just got a call from DSS for our AKL CL reservation. I have never got a phone call before. It was a pleasant surprise. I was asking about the 2 bedroom suites and she confirmed what I had figured out about where they were located and on which floors. We also talked all about the different tours we can do around AK and AKL. She was so sweet and such a great thing on Disney's part. Hopefully this will continue.
