Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Well that’s clear as mud. :-)

This topic has come up from time to time since Disney changed the website to read “Club Level Access” even for the Standard Room designation a few months back.

I was under the impression that the consensus was that meant that they had opened up CL room inventory beyond just the 7th floor. But, I’m not sure if I’ve seen many/any actual reports / experiences on the specific topic since the verbiage change was made. :confused3

We had a great stay last week at BC. I was a little nervous because I have seen some negative reviews recently, but our experience was great. CMs were very friendly. Evening offerings were good (my favorite was a mac and cheese bar with toppings :teeth:).

BWI still remains our favorite, but I'd be happy to stay at BC again!

Oh my! My kids will be in heaven if they have that in late June when we are there! Glad to hear you had a good experience :)

Heading out next year for our first CL booking (and our first split stay too, both halves in CL between the Poly and BC). I'm a little nervous about navigating lounge food offerings with my husband, who has celiac disease and is very sensitive to cross contamination, but we are at least not desperate to ensure that the lounge food replaces any meals except maybe breakfast. I'm hoping that a breakfast option every day should be something that's relatively easy for them to arrange.

I may have booked insanely early. As a result we were restricted to room only at this stage and so were on the hook for one night plus tax for the room deposit - TWICE because of the split stay - which was a tiny bit more than the $200 deposit when you book a package. Eek!

I'm really grateful for all the information in this thread, though it's going to take a while to get through all of it!

Help please!!!

Advice for CR CL Tower or Atrium and why?
5 adults, 1 almost 4 y/o.
Bay view or Theme Park view.
Going next February, split stay, 4 days at CR and 4 days AKL, both CL. We are planning 2 park days while at CR, both are MK.
I looked at touring plans, and unfortunately they have no photos of CL rooms with 2 queens. Are the balconies the same size for all?
TIA!

That is exactly what we are doing. AKL CL then, staying with DVC friends, then off to the CR CL. We were debating Tower or Atrium also. So excited for that split stay. I am not sure about the Tower Club Level at all but Enjoy!

We are staying at AKL CL during the Aug. 18th - Aug. 25th, and after booking, we received a phone call and an email confirming the phone call...and thus far, with every request that I have made (ADRs, Wanyama Safari, etc.), we have received email confirmation and a phone call confirming the request and "are there any other requests or questions that you have at this time?" In the past, we have stayed at CL at different resorts, but this is our first at AKL and in terms of follow-up from DSS, this has definitely been a first....

I agree - definitely a first! We can't wait for our AKL CL stay!

Hello everyone! We have recently switched from the AKL to the Poly and then to the YC, and we were wondering about the current status of the lounge: does it still close between service, or does it now stays open? I remember reading about a “side door” though I'm not sure what this mean (we've never been to YC)?
Also, is there a way to request some drinks and/or beer between services? TIA!

We were just at YC a month ago. The lounge does now stay open between service times. There are actually 3 doors into the lounge: one at the food service area, one into the table area & 1 into the sitting area with cushioned chairs. I only saw it closed once I think. The door to the food area was closed at night & the area was roped off. You could get to the fridge with soda tho. Coffee machine was also accessible, but no cream or sugars out. You can ask a CM for beer or adult beverages anytime. The CMs are cleaning & setting up between service times, so there is always someone around to ask.

Thank you all for your replies.
The DSS cast member seemed quite confused when I posed the question, so I thought I would try all of you more informed Dis Boarders! I noted that I would like to be close to the lounge, hopefully that works. I will report back as soon as I return from my trip.

Yeah, that’s not all that surprising unfortunately. I like DSS for many things, but intimate knowledge of CL/resort specifics is not their specialty unless you happen to get a CM with some history or resort experience.

FYI, currently actual WL CL CMs are contacting guests in the days leading up to your trip just to check in. If you get contacted, those CMs are actually at WL and know the resort.

Hope you have a great trip!

Some folks have covered many of these points above as well, but here's what I learned. Going to re-state some of the obvious stuff as well in case helpful.
  • $50 per person, per day - 3 day minimum
  • Only available 3/13/2018 and beyond
  • It is bookable 90 days from your check-out date (yes, your check-out date, not check-in date) and must be done via DSS
  • You cannot make the extra FPs via MDE
  • The extra FPs can be in any tier and any park
  • The extra FP times can't overlap with other FPs (ETA: this appears to be an open question, in practice, so perhaps TBD until more real experiences come out)
  • Includes one reserved viewing area selection per night; choices are MK/HEA, Epcot/Illuminations, HS/Fantasmic!, AK/ROL
  • You can't book it before the 90 day from check-out mark (although you can submit what you want to DSS before 90 days and they'll book it when they get in that day)
  • Again, the 90 day mark is from your CHECK-OUT day, not your check-in day (I was told it was check-in but many others have been told it’s check-out, so I’m going with that)
  • You select the extra FPs and nighttime viewing choices at the time of booking (although can be modified via DSS later) (note, the 'modification' part of the extra FPs is also an open question at the moment, need more real-time info to confirm)
  • Your regular three FPs are still bookable at the normal 60 day from check-in mark (ETA: this has been changed, you can now book your three ‘regular’ FPs at 90 days with this program)
  • The minimum three days do not need to be consecutive
  • Reserved viewing locations:
    • MK/HEA - Plaza Garden West (this is the fake grass/garden area in front of Casey's, the opposite garden from where they do the Plaza Garden dessert party)
    • Epcot/Illuminations - Germany, on the water near the glass blowing cart
    • HS/Fantasmic! - Near the dessert & VIP viewing experiance area
    • AK/ROL - Enter via the FP area, close to the water in that general FP area
  • There is a 1 day cancellation period
  • If you book this and then cancel a CL (or otherwise eligible) reservation after booking or modify it to a non-eligible room, the package will be cancelled and you'll receive a refund
I will caveat that this is very new and they stressed it is a trial. Information and details are not really tested, and with something so nuanced I suspect details may be fluid as we go along.

Let me know if you have any questions or if anything isn't clear. Hope it helps!
We have a trip booked for late August and I'm considering upgrading to club level. If we do that & buy the extra FPs, will be able to use them to book Slinky Dog?

Yup. One of the advantages of the program is that you can book regardless of tiers.

For example, once TSL opens, SDD, AS2, and TSM will all be tier 1. On one of the days I have booked, I have FPs for those three rides booked in the morning, then I have three more FPs (my regular FPs) booked in another park that night.

Plus the 90 day in advance access helps with rides like SDD and FoP which can be harder to find at 60 days out.

If you booked a normal CL room regardless of view then yes you will be guaranteed to be on the 7th floor with the Old Faithful Club. There are other Deluxe rooms that are located on other floors that have CL "access".

Dave

That is no longer the case. It is a recent change that, booking a Standard CL room at WL, you may not be on the 7th floor. Everyone on the 7th floor, however, is a CL guest - and most of the Standard CL rooms will be on floor 7.

@GADisneyDad14 and anyone else who has stayed in a 1 bedroom CL at the CR - I am assuming there is only 1 bathroom in the suite? Also are there any bathrooms in or near the lounge area? We were deciding between 2 Atruim rooms or a 1 bedroom suite on the Tower Club Level. I want to try the Tower Club Level but the 1 bathroom is making me think.

Also I am assuming the food choices are the same on both floors? Thanks in advance.

You’re in luck - the 1BR has two full baths. It was wonderful!

There is not a public bathroom near the lounge.

Yes, the food is substantially similar. Maybe a couple of nuanced differences here and there, but on the whole just about the same.

Could you expand on your post, I think you are confusing things about where a Standard CL room is located at the WL vs the AKL. They are only on the 7th floor at the WL which is were the question was asked about.

Dave

See the quote below. That's what I was trying to say

Other then those thAt have stayed in the deluxe rooms, I dont think anyone here has ever booked WL CL and not been on the 7th floor. I would be curious how often it actually happens.

I'll see what I find out when I go too. I did request that floor out of abundance of caution. I forget where I saw it, but was under the impression it was only deluxe rooms that were not on that floor. But you guys are the WL experts, so I'm glad I requested it. If I remember in a month, lol, I'll ask the CMs in CL and try and find out the deal.

Wow - I am so excited. I actually went to find a room floor plan and thought I found it but it only showed 1 bathroom. We can manage with 1 bathroom but I really wanted a 2nd one. It is so hard to surprise the kids anymore since they all have the MDE app - they would see everything - so I wanted to surprise them with the Tower Club Level (it doesn't say Tower Level or 14th fl on the reservation). They will be so excited. I am going to keep the 1 bedroom suite. If you happen to have a room map - I would love it. Thanks - you know so much. :yay:

Being able to get the 3 Tier 1 Toy Story rides is what helped me decide to purchase these. I think new rides like these make this a huge selling point at least for me. I'm not sure I would need them at the other parks. The fireworks viewing is nice but the Toy Story rides made it hard to resist!!

Totally agree. I can also “do” HS in one day vs two, which is a big benefit for our style.

If I’m being totally honest, we’re not even planning on actually using all of the nightime viewing opportunities when we do it. :ssst:
