I have a reservation for a standard room and while this is our 9th trip to Disney we have never stayed at the BC. I need to make room requests soon and would love input. We have 2 kids and will be busing to MK and AK but planning to walk or use the boats to both Epcot and HS. I am unsure of the layout as far as what would put us close to the doors we would need to leave both for buses and the walking paths. I appreciate your help.
Our October trip is correct (slumming in a garden cottage over at BW, trying not to be terrified of the clown pool)
Our December trip has expanded, adding another split. Not sure if it’ll stay like this, but it’s currently:
bookbabe626 Dec 30-Jan 2 BC SV (split stay 3 nights WL, 4 nights POFQ, BC, then 4 nights Poly)
It was our May trip where we tried out YC, with a verdict of “it’s better than a lot of places, but not better than BC”
<grin> And we’re currently in negotiations for February and May...after all, since we’re got APs, it’s like we have free tickets, so we might as well use them, right?
Hi Everyone!!
We are staying at the Beach Club for the first time Aug 16-20th. We usually stay at the Pop Century, but we're splurging this year on a shorter stay. (I turn 40 in November, but I'm celebrating all year!!)
We have a wood/garden view booked, and my hubby really wants a ground floor room. Do ground floor rooms have an exterior door to a patio? If so, can you open them from the outside with a magic band (so you don't have to walk inside)? I guess for that matter, do all ground floor rooms even have a patio? I tried looking at pictures, but I can't really tell.
Thanks so much!! We can't wait!
Thank you @helenb for those maps.
Nice to see that the 5193 room, which has no balcony, has been downgraded to a standard club. I remember seeing reports of it being a water view in the previous years.
We’ve been at Disney since Monday, staying at POR, and tomorrow we check into YC. We’ve really enjoyed our time at POR, but are looking forward to the YC.

As other people have said, the ground floor rooms have a sliding patio door that only locks from the inside. We once, or twice, had a lagoon view ground floor room that was steps away from the main sidewalk. We would exit the room via the sliding doors, leaving one person, usually a teenager who ran fast, to lock the patio door and then meet us on the sidewalk. But with a woods/garden view you have a very good chance of having a room that is near one of the outside exit doors that will give you a quick exit without having to go all the way back to the lobby. We have a wood/garden view booked, and my hubby really wants a ground floor room. We’ll be there October 26-30. I’ll have to look out for you!Hooray- we are coming back to BC! It may seem silly for a local to stay (& pay), but Food and Wine and driving don’t mix when you’re the only driver. So my sister made our reservation for Oct 22-29. Fun for me because I work the 28th and 29th. But I’ll be only about 5 minutes driving back to the hotel. So looking forward to it. See, next time you’re updating the BoG list, please add us. Thanks! Anyone else who will be there then, look for a crazed woman chasing after 2 ECV’s and say Hi.

If you haven't already, maybe spend some time online searching. Sometimes I find day by day yields no discounts, but a 3 or 4 night stay does. I often have to try various dates to see what pops up.Discounts became available this morning for the time frame that we are at Disney in the fall. I called at 8am this morning and was told that there was nothing available at Boardwalk, Yachtclub or the Beachclub. I asked to check for discounts on a day by day basis and still nothing. How can that be? Frustrating!!!
We book standard rooms and have gotten a king bed twice so keep your fingers crossed because they do exist
Anything is possible! We stayed at AKL last year and had requested a king room. We ended up having to sleep one night in a queen room, but then switched to the king for the rest of our 3 nights.
All BCVs have full balconies. Some are bigger than othersI'm trying to figure out what to request for our room. It's a 1 BR Dec 27-Dec 4 at BCV. Do the 5th-floor rooms have a full balcony? I would rather have a 1st floor room with a patio or top floor with a chance for a view but I am unsure. This is a laid-back trip, golf a couple of times and parks early and late most days. No need to ride it all and kill ourselves trying. I have not even looked to see what we might want to eat for ADR's and it's time to do them. I just don't really want to be tied down but I know at that time of year we need to make them.
