Planning for 2019

So hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks, 2019 packages will be released - at least I hope they are. The wait is starting to kill me. Just want to have a trip booked again.

We are renting DVC points for the Grand Floridian for Oct 2019...so excited about going during the Halloween décor. We've gone during Christmas twice and June once (never again- so HOT and rainy). Can't wait to book in November when they open up for DVC rentals.

I'm planning to be at WDW in January of 2019. First trip, can't wait!

A first trip! So much fun to plan, anticipate and take! Have a great time! You should start your own Pre-trip report and share ideas. Do you know where you want to stay yet?

We have been contemplating on when we want to go and decided end of september 2019. Although husband is a huge star wars fan, we are waiting a year after it opens to see it so hoping it won't be opened when we go. I do not want to step foot in Disney World when it opens!
Booking this week with time to modify dates if needed/able to.

We're tentatively looking at October 5th-13th. We have 3 kids and the oldest hates missing school, so we're guessing on when their fall break is. We will stay off site, probably at Windsor Hills. We were there last year and has an amazing time. I want to do at least 6 days in the park, but preferably 7. I keep checking undercover tourist and parksavers to see what kind of deals they are offering on tickets.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that SW doesn't open until November or later.

Things I'm trying to currently decide:
Should we attend MNSSHP? Kids will be 11,8, and 4.
Or should we book EMM?
Both appeal to me, but the youngest currently goes to bed at 8. All of my kids are early risers and sleeping in past 6:30 is very rare.

I'm also trying to narrow down rentals I like, but we probably won't have a school calendar until January.

I can only imagine the massive crowds that will come for Star Wars - I could see it being way more than those that came for New Fantasyland, Pandora & Toy Story Land combined. I'm tempted to book a bounce back offer if it's available when we go in January but I would steer clear of DHS unless I was able to secure a FP for the new attractions. I'm sure curiosity would get the best of me and make me attempt rope drop.

But I'm also trying to plan some other vacations so might just wait a few more years like I did this time around.

Haven't done EMM but we love the MNSSHP party! So much fun, and you can get in as early as 4pm, so you can make it a leisurely resort morning and save yourself park tickets for that day. Obviously, most of the party stuff doesn't start until 7, but it's still very fun. And by October of next year, the little one might be handling later bedtimes sometimes. At least that's the logic I'm using in deciding to take my 2yo to MVMCP next year lol

Yes once I’m there I will book a bounceback to see galaxy’s edge once it’s calmed down

I'm really considering it. Our last trip 2016 we had 7 day hopper tickets because of a buy 4 days get 3 free deal. We only used the hoppers 2 times and really just did it because we had them. I'm thinking we could do 6 day tickets and the MNSSHP for almost the same price as 7 day hoppers. I need to sit down and do the math on that one.

The last two trips, I have had seven days with no hoppers and it worked well for us. Of course, this was before Pandora and Toy Story opened. So, I am not sure what I might do this time around. We are not big Star Wars fans so like some others, I will probably just avoid that park when we go when it is open. I am still trying to figure out when exactly to go.

I booked my first trip for July of 2019. I was on there the first day of 2019 reservations! This is a dream come true for me. I was obsessed with going to Disney when I was a kid but my family could never afford it. I used to go to Travel Agents as a little kid and get brochures and I would study them front and back.

SAD STORY ALERT: One year when I was around 9 yeas old or so, the teacher asked everyone what they did over the summer and I lied and said I went to Disney, she then asked me questions about it and I was able to answer all of them because I had done so much research.

I'm also an insane planner. I'm one of those people that gets satisfaction from planning things so I am going to love the excitement of doing research and getting reservations and studying maps and bus routes and listening to/reading pre and post trip reports. Heck I already have a rough 10 day outline and have collected maps of all the parks and have been studying them.

I am married and have two kids (ages 6 and 8 by the time of the trip) so I can't wait to give my kids the dream vacation I was never able to have.

Officially booked for April 2-7, 2019. This will be a shorter trip than usual since we’ll also be spending a few nights in Clearwater Beach with my parents. Looking forward to staying at POFQ for the first time, although I’m considering changing to Pop if the price is right when spring discounts are released.

I never went as a child either although I didnt realize what I was missing like you did. It was a sad story but i promise you that seeing the joy through your kids eyes will be just as good, if not better! Have a blast!

We're going in March 2019.

It's the first time I've mentioned a Disney trip without my DH saying "no, maybe, we shouldn't, .....".

My DD said she wanted to go again and I said something about going in the spring this time. DD is going to be in 7th grade, but she can make up the homework. And I've already asked DD's best friend's mom and she's agreed to let her miss school as well. :) :)

Once I think there might be "HOPE" that we might be going, I go Disney planning crazy. He has not said one word to me about waiting, not going, etc.

We've picked a date by working around other obligations. I even mentioned make the deposit in September, right at 180 days, to plan for ADR.

YAY!!!!
