Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Is Club Level at GF better than Poly in terms of food offering and service?

DH is considering switching our reservation from Poly CL standard to GF CL standard in main building.
We arrive in less than 30 days, already paid in full. Not sure if modification would cost us any extra at this stage of the game..
In terms of food offerings and service, yes. I also thought GF was spotlessly clean, which I have not experienced in other deluxe rooms.

I still like Poly CL though and would stay there again. Love the view from the lounge and theming.

Just changed my reservation to GF from Poly......

A few questions:
1. Do all standard rooms in Main building have a day bed?
2. Do all standard rooms in Main building have a balcony?
3. Does the lounge offer sparkling water?

I have spent the past 3 months reading about Polynesian...
Now I only have three weeks left and I hope there is enough time for me to study what Grand Floridian has to offer and to train my kids to behave and to walk properly in that grand lobby.

:thanks:

To answer your questions:

1. Not 100% sure on this one, we were given a king room in the main building and it did not have a day bed, but a family we met and conversed with did have a day bed in their two queen bed room. I would request a daybed if you desire one.

2. I am almost certain all have balconies, except for the turret king rooms.

3. Yes, they have sparkling water. You just have to ask one of the CM’s.

Enjoy your trip. We loved our stay at the Grand. We loved listening to the orchestra/pianist playing while enjoying our evening appetizers.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Not sure. None have had Perrier or Pellegrino, they might have a large bottle of something you can pour from. I know my DH drinks a lot of those brands, and has never drank any sparkling water from any of the lounges.

I mainly wanted to add that the lobby at the GF may look very proper and uppity, but in our experience it is no different than any other Disney deluxe resort. Meaning that, while of course we all want our kids to behave like perfect little angels while on vacation, if they act like kids they won’t be at all out of place there! The lobby is full of families and kids, and our boys played and ran around some and I never felt like we were being judged or given the stink eye. In fact, I felt like loud or misbehaving kids would have been more noticeable in the YC lobby than the GF lobby- and still not a problem there, just a comparison.

ETA I thought I was correct on #s 1 and 2, obviously if someone has had a room without one of those take their answer over mine! And maybe my DH just never asked for the sparkling water during our stay in the RPC, it was a couple of years ago, or quite possibly things change since they change daily, let alone yearly!!

I wanted to share a recent experience with Signature Services and how you truly do get what you pay for. Prior to our dining booking, we sent an email with our dining preferences along with calling ahead with our credit card info. We wanted Highway in the Sky as well as the Family Magic tour, 2 Christmas parties and had a handful of signature dining along with some old favorites. We did have popular places with some easy to get into places but were super flexible with dates and times and we told them that.

Lo and behold they were able to get us all but Ohana dinner, they apologized and were able to snag us a breakfast if we wanted but we were pretty set on dinner. They told us to give them some time and they would get back to us. They called us daily to update us on all that they were doing and on the 5th day, they had secured us a reservation at the time we had requested (but said it was not necessary)!!!

I have been 100% thrilled with their services before, but this year they really seemed to have gone over and above. We booked our trip last year before we even left our resort and this year we only called to give our CC information and sent 1 email and they have taken care of so much and all on the right dates and times, without us having to remind them! Next is our 90 day fastpasses and then I will consider this a dream vacation before we have even left! LOL!! I used to think that the planning of a WDW vacation was half the fun, but I'm really liking this too! HAHA!

Thanks for sharing. Glad your experience with DSS has been a positive one :).

Very exciting. Don't worry about the kids, lobby is relaxing and huge. Although I wouldn't advise it, two grown men had their feet on the tables, one in socks o_O:crazy2::rolleyes1 I'm sure your kids will be fine! I loved the lobby, loved coming back to the hotel after being in the parks.

Don't be afraid to ask for wine/beer or champagne outside of cocktail hour: the CMs were happy to get it from the back. The coffee machine was great. Also loved the tea time with scones. Had mickey waffles cooked fresh at breakfast on a couple days at least. Soups during lunch/snack time each day was nice as well. Ask for some wine with your soup!

Never really wanted to try GF but son requested it and we all loved it. pixiedust:

The poly has Perrier in the back, just ask and they’ll give you the whole bottle. Enjoy!!

Thank you for the tips on getting drinks outside of the cocktail hour....
But is it also okay to ask for cake and cookie outside of the evening dessert time??
We will be out three nights for the night time show with the CL FP+.... don't think will be back by 10pm....

Yup! Sounds pretty close to what we had at the Atrium CL last week. One night we had beef strips and potatoes which were very good as well!
Glad you were able to enjoy the 4th fireworks from your balcony:)

We had those tonight! Soooo good!

Last night was Asian themed food: chicken fried rice, cold noodle salad, a I poke, and two kinds of sushi rolls.
