First Timers Visit Over Easter! Can we see it all? - Updated 2/9

Day Two: "Old" Fantasyland Morning

If I remember correctly, this morning was "extra magic Hours" or whatever they call it in Disneyland. So, we were aiming to take advantage of some of it, if possible but not push it. And we did! It certainly helps that all we had to do was walk across the street!

Disneyland Sign
I have a time stamp on this pic of 7:26. So we made it for half of it. Not too bad.

We were trying to balance the "smell the roses" moments and get "****" done this morning.

Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln
I tried to really look around the area this morning, with the less crowds and take notice of the buildings in Main Street.

While I was doing this, Morgan and Gwen noticed Pluto out and actually asked to stop and meet him! They usually just shrug there shoulder and say they want to move on. There was only a few people in line, so we got in line.

Pluto
This was our first encounter with a character, this one had a handler hanging around but there was no one of Photo Pass Photos. Which was fine. We used our own phones.

Pluto
Pluto got his ear in the way of Gwen Face!

Pluto
Someone said something to Pluto and he made some silly ear poses...

Pluto
That's Better!

Pluto
And then I decided to try and get in too!

After meeting with Pluto, we headed towards the hub. There was a Photo Pass Photographer there, so Andy suggested we stop for a family photo. So we did that next.

Family Photo w/ Walt

Family Photo w/ Walt
They came out pretty good for us!

And then we took a look at all of the stautues in the area.
Donald & Gwen
I told Gwen to pose like Donald.

Minnie & Gwen
And then she wanted to pose like Minnie of course.

Dumbo & Morgan
And then I had Morgan pick her favorite statue.

The whole time we were doing this, I could feel the pull to get into Fantasyland and get on a few rides that didn't have max pass with them before 9:00. It was about 7:45. So we headed in some more.

Continued in the next post...

Day Two: "Old" Fantasyland Morning Cont.

We headed into the castle. But grabbed a quick photo!
Morgan & Gwen Sleeping Beauty Castle

So, the goal this morning was to try out all of the older dark rides in Fantasyland this morning.

First up was Alice in Wonderland Ride!

Alice & Wonderland Ride_Hooka Vehicle
I was most excitied about riding this one. There was a bit of wait, as it is def a slow load ride. And this was also our first real experence with the whol old style que or rather lack of. Makes the wait that much longer!

Alice & Wonderland Ride
All of my photos are kind of meh, as I was using my phone and they are well .... dark rides... and the move fast!

I loved this ride! Def my favorite of the dark rides here. I also love that it goes inside and outside. And it felt like a decent length. Not too short.

While we were waiting in line, the girls just watched the tea cups and wanted to do those next. I said that if there was still no line, we would do that next.

When we got off I noticed the tea cup set to the side for Photo opts. There was a couple taking a picture in it and who walks up but Peter Pan!

Untitled
Here is my creaper photo of it. It was so cute. And I know this is a "normal" thing in Disneyland. It was fun to see

There was still no line, so we headed to the tea cups next!

And then Gwen decided she had to go to the bathroom.

Can't count the number of times this has happened to us with Danielle.

I enjoyed this version but I don't know if I can pick one as better than the other.

I want to ride this if I ever make there. I've heard it's longer at Disneyland. Is it?

Gwen kept her eyes closed, and head down the entire ride! It was really fun but I wish we could have done it again, I was half worried about Gwen to really enjoy it. Morgan liked it enough to say It was ok. I take that as a win! Andy loved it! He said it was one of his favorites from the park!

I love the Indy franchise. This is another ride I want to experience.

Afterwards, I think I grabbed MaxPasses for Haunted Mansion. But Gwen was REALLY against riding and we had just dragged her on 2 rides she didn't want to do. So, I granted her this as a pass. So, I sent Andy and Morgan to ride. Which I let Gwen choose something...

What a great Mom to make the sacrifice.

She made me take a picture with her on the rope "so it looked like she was really high up"

So cute!

I was def jealous! And spoiler alert, our time expired, so I didn't get to go. ;(

I would be too.

And then, finally the show started. I really liked it! I think the girls were a bit over tired to truly enjoy it.

I want to do this too! Another attraction that I've heard is better.

I can't even imagine being that close to a park.

I like this one.

This one is really good. I really love all the colors of the flowers and you outfits.

I told Gwen to pose like Donald.

She did great!

And then she wanted to pose like Minnie of course.

Of course she did.

And then I had Morgan pick her favorite statue.

She picked a good one.

I was most excitied about riding this one. There was a bit of wait, as it is def a slow load ride. And this was also our first real experence with the whol old style que or rather lack of. Makes the wait that much longer!

This sounds very interesting.

When we got off I noticed the tea cup set to the side for Photo opts. There was a couple taking a picture in it and who walks up but Peter Pan!

I love moments like this. During Flower & Garden in 2007, Danielle got to play with Peter Pan on the playground equipment. One of her favorite memories.

We've meant to the last two trips, but we ended up skipping it both times because it was just too late for 1-2 of our kids to be up. They don't sleep in, even at home.
OH our girls never sleep in either. They seriously do not understand the concept! I think the time change helped a little with that. And our 2 other Disney World Trips have trained them for long days at Disney.

What a busy day you had!!
Seriously, I think the September and February trips really started to "train" them to be semi-hard core park goers!

Oh-there’s another bathroom right by the Pirates exit!
Oh sure!!!! Where were you when we needed you?

I want to ride this if I ever make there. I've heard it's longer at Disneyland. Is it?
I think it was longer. There was def a few more drops but I think in my head I thought there was a bigger one or something and it just never happened. But still fun.

I love the Indy franchise. This is another ride I want to experience.
The girls actually like the first movie but this was pretty intense. It moves fast and is jerky and the music really adds to it. Gwen was NOT a fan.

I can't even imagine being that close to a park
It was so amazing! It was fantastic!

I heard that Peter Pan plays hide and seek with kids in the morning in Fantasyland sometimes. I think that is just fantastic!

Hi! :wave2: I'm loving your trip report! Your girls are so cute! I love your youngest's personality. She definitely has a sparkle in her eyes. What a fun little girl. And I love your oldest, too. So thoughtful and sweet.

Thanks!!!! I started your trip report right when I found out we were going to Disneyland.

I have found it so interesting how my trip reports really show the personalities of them both! They are really the best of friends but oh so different from one another!

I just bought this shirt! Sorry line queue was so long, I've read that before. And poor Gwen, sorry she wasn't psyched on this ride

I was def jealous! And spoiler alert, our time expired, so I didn't get to go. ;(

Just means you'll have to go back for sure!

I want to be able to meet him!

Me too! How cute would that be for Dapper Day?

While I was doing this, Morgan and Gwen noticed Pluto out and actually asked to stop and meet him! They usually just shrug there shoulder and say they want to move on. There was only a few people in line, so we got in line.

AWE! I love this! I love randomly finding characters, it's so rare in WDW!

These are both great!

Here is my creaper photo of it. It was so cute. And I know this is a "normal" thing in Disneyland. It was fun to see

LOL! I love this so much! I really gotta get to DL!

I didn't know about this report or I would have been here a long time ago!

Yay for your rose gold ears! I want a set terribly as I've always loved rose gold. My wedding set is rose gold, and I think the ears will match just perfectly! ;)

Love your reports as always. I want to go to DL, but my husband has no interest so I enjoy seeing the differences between the 2 parks.

Enjoying your review quite a bit. You can see you are really taking in each site/ride/attraction. Brings back nice memories of our trip last August. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Everyone!

I want to say sorry for completely abandoning this trip report. Juggling two TR and one PTR just became too much. BUT I have finished my Disney World Trip Report, so this will now be my main focus!!! Woo Hoo! And my goal is to finish it before the craziness of Christmas hits. Which I think I can do, as this was a short trip.

I promise to be back soon with an update. (possibly tonight) Possibly...

And poor Gwen, sorry she wasn't psyched on this ride
She REALLY didn't want to go on Indian Jones. But she was a trooper and endured the ride.

I don't think they are in quiet as high demand as they used to be. But I still love them.

Thanks for following along. Sorry that I disappear just as you commented. But I promise finish it up!

Day Two: "Old" Fantasyland Morning Cont.

So, I believe I left off with us finishing up our ride on Alice. Morgan had wanted to ride the tea cups next. Andy didn't want to waste time on them. So, I said IF there was still no line when we got off we would. And there wasn't! In fact, we got off the ride and practically ran over and sat down in a tea cup!

Both girls wanted to ride in there own tea cup, so we all got our own tea cup... And of course, what do 2 parents do when riding by themselves.....

Camera/Photo Duel!

Who won, do you think?

After our ride on the tea cups, I wanted to get our photo in that tea cup where we say Peter Pan.
Tea Cup Photo
I want to say there was a CM there with a camera and they gladly took our photo.

Next on our hit list was StoryBook Land. I had no idea what it was, but I knew it was a classic ride and we def wanted to check it out. And it def looked like it was a very slow load ride. AND that it was! Well, it felt that way, I think we waited 15 to 20 minutes. But it felt like an eternity that early in the day!

But we got on and I am SO glad we did it! It was such a cute boat ride!!!

IMG_2215
Into Manstro we go! (side note, the girls don't really know who that is because Morgan still refuses to watch Pinochio)

Storybook Land_M&G
We made it on the boat.

Storybook Land_Monstro
Will we survive the mouth!!!??!?!

Storybook Land_Airendale
All of the little towns we amazing! The girls loved all of them. I was surprised at how up to date the were, with Airendale in there.

IMG_2215
I mean look at those tiny little troll statues! And you have to really look to notice them.

IMG_2215
Gwen was very excitied to see Jasmine's Castle!

IMG_2215
I loved this one. It looks just like the que at Disney World. Or maybe it's the other way around...

There was a duck walking in one of the scenes and the girls thought this was hilarious. They kept saying there there was a giant duck attacking the village. They were cracking themselves up! It was def worth the wait to ride this. It is def no headliner or thrill ride but if you are a fan of the movies and disney than this is def worth it.

It was getting close to lunch time and we wanted to try at least 2 more rides in Old Fantasyland. So, we headed out.

Up next a Wild Ride with Mr. Toad!

Day Two: "Old" Fantasyland Morning Cont.

We headed over to ride Mr. Toad's next. I think it was only a 5 minute wait still, so that was good.
IMG_5297

I wasn't sure how scary the ride would be, so, I had us each ride with one of the girls. And of course, they were NOT scared at all with it but you just never know. I am pretty sure there was a kid right before us who came off in tears...

IMG_5297

I had the girls pose on the car sitting outside. And said to each of them, to pretend they are driving like a crazy person.

IMG_5297
This is Gwen's version of this...

IMG_5297
And Morgan's.... :confused3

After surviving our first dark ride, we headed over to ride Snow White's Ride next. This also only had a 5 minute wait at this point still.

IMG_5297

I think we divided the girls again. Just cause.
IMG_5297
We got a Happy Car!

IMG_5297
We took our ride through, and no one was scared this time either! Win!

We had one more dark ride we wanted to try before lunch, and that was the Pinochio ride. And I think that also only had a 5 minute wait. (meanwhile Peter Pan had like a 90 minute wait!)

IMG_5297

All my pictures on these rides came out horrible! I did really like the Blue Fairy effect that they did on this ride!

Overall we were glad we did them all but none were so amazing that I was mad they were no longer in Disney World. But we def had fun expierencing them! And no one cried!

By now, we were starving, and I wanted to get over to California Adventure. We had a WHOLE other park to see! The girls wanted macaroons from Jolly Hollliday. So, we said that was fine. So, we headed that way.

We passed a cart in the hub to see if they had iced coffee for Andy and we found some AMAZING donuts! Andy and Gwen picked out these 2 beauties!
IMG_4727
I am pretty sure this one was carmel frosting with candied bacon on top.

IMG_4727
And then this, one Gwen picked because she wanted candy for breakfast. (Even if it was noon already)

While they waited in line at the cart, Morgan said she still wanted a macaroon. So, her and I headed that way. And then, I spotted the Dole Whip Counter! So, we detoured there instead!
IMG_4727
We got a dole whip float and a regular dole whip.

We sat down at the tables outside of Jolly Holiday and had our sugar overload of a snack. They were all delightful! Once we were fully sugared up. We headed out of the park and across the way to California Adventure! Our first Park Hopping of the trip!!!

I think as a kid I would have really loved the Storybook boat ride. Pinocchio was one of my favorite movies growing up (thought I haven't been able to sit through the whole thing in like a million years!) I think I was obsessed with Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy to be honest :)

Gwen's donut looks AMAZING. I want one right now.

I miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Oh no!!! Why? It's one of my favorites, though the Pleasure Island storyline really is dark for an animated movie.

There was a duck walking in one of the scenes and the girls thought this was hilarious. They kept saying there there was a giant duck attacking the village. They were cracking themselves up
Would you say they were... "quacking up"??:rotfl2:

Ba dum chh!!

I wasn't sure how scary the ride would be, so, I had us each ride with one of the girls. And of course, they were NOT scared at all with it but you just never know. I am pretty sure there was a kid right before us who came off in tears...
Oh poor kid! I loved Mr. Toad, and like everybody else, wish we still had it at WDW!

Couldn't get the quote to work on Morgan's "crazy" driving picture but that kid kills me. I'm surprised she didn't object since there was no seatbelt!!!

(meanwhile Peter Pan had like a 90 minute wait
:faint:

But we def had fun expierencing them! And no one cried!
That is going to be my new measure of success at Disney. Did anyone cry? Nope? Success! Time for a donut!

I just found your TR!! I loved reading your DL trip so far. Can’t wait to read more!

We have been DLR AP holders for the past almost 9 years and just visited WDW for the first time last year. It definitely is sooo different going from one coast to the other. We love DLR so much but we absolutely love WDW so much too!!
