just a comment: i'm staying at coronado november 7-10 but wanted november 3-10. i had to do a split stay because there's no room availability for standard rooms november 3-6. so goes to show you people aren't leaving because of the pool reno. Staying at pop november 3-6 but prefer to go to coronado the whole stay.

Cancellations happen! Keep checking and you might find the additional days you're hoping for! ;)

There is a convention at CS from Nov 4-7
That could be a contributing factor in the room availability

Hi all
Just wanted to say, we stayed Poly last Feb after buying DVC and missed CSR! We missed it so much we have sold the DVC! We have stayed at CSR 3 times so far. Poly is convenient for MK but still have to walk to food, shops etc, pool a lot more crowded, counter service food very small and long waits, tons of people etc. IMO just not worth the extra money! CSR does have convention folks but they tend to stay together (we did have a teen leadership group once that clogged up breakfast! but were very nice and polite group). CM at CSR have been the best too! (and just for info I have stayed at WL, Contemporary and the Yacht and Beach Clubsand Boardwalk)

Going back for quick Aug trip and very excited to go "back home" even if it is under construction!

I may have already asked this a while ago, but can't remember so apologies if I did...We have booked a water view room. If our #1 priority is close to a bus stop and #2 a refurbished room, what would be the best for us to request location and room wise???

Thanks for any help!!!

We were at the back of the ranchos 7a and it was about as close to a bus stop as you could get.

Casitas 4 or 5 are also god options. Close to Bus Stop #2, which is the first pick-up and drop-off for the park buses. Both have been refurbished.

So me and DH decided this weekend to try and do Food & Wine this November but there isn't a lot out there. Would love to try Coronado Springs and I heard somewhere that they were suppose to be making a bridge over the water as to shorten the distance from the rooms to the front. Was wondering this is true and if yes does anyone know when it is suppose to be finished?

Wow! So just "finished a non-Disney trip to FL to see some family and friends with a few quiet Beach days at Vero in-between. Got to MCO to fly out today and our flight was delayed out of Orlando, and it was noted we would miss our connection. The airline couldn't get us on a flight out before tomorrow, and since "it was an FAA / weather thing" they wouldn't even get us a hotel. We had just (of course) returned our rental car, and there we were at MCO with no transport, and no reservation. I looked left, and then right, decided I needed a smoke, so went down to the car rental area to step outside and for a quiet place to sit and check my phone for a hotel. I longingly looked at the Magical Express busses lined up outside, and decided WTH? might as well dial the Dis. Got a summer room rate at CSR (Our home), and then of course, the free bus ride.

At Check-in, we relayed that it was just a quick night in the hotel, because our new fight is tomorrow late morning. No park tickets etc. Well, Chicho at reception was empathetic to our struggles, and so kind. As he set us up with our newly refurbed room, he said, "Oh, and one more thing...." "I know you had a rough day, so here is a voucher for a free meal for three (all of us) - good at any Disney owned quick-service restaurant. So after a quick dip at the dig site (and a game of cornhole), we jumped on the bus to Disney Springs and went to D-lux burger. The CM there hooked us up because we had the hand-written voucher, and we all had burgers, with fries and milkshakes - an $80.00 dinner for free!

So I just want to thank my friend Chicho, and give him a shout out. DD and DW were thrilled about the extra vacation night, and even happier we got to the Dis - as was I. Some of the best pixie dust I have ever encountered. Thanks Chicho!

Hi everyone! Only 9 days away! We have a Preferred room (2 queens) booked and was wondering if this was water view, garden view or standard view? We just don't know which to request since it is just preferred- I know its 1, 2, and 3 but what are the views??

I'm thinking about booking this hotel for a mid to late August trip this year. Does anyone have any first hand accounts of how much the construction affected their trip? When will the main pool and food court be affected? I don't actually plan to swim in the main pool, but I don't want the quiet pools to get crowded! I'm hoping there might be an area of the resort where I could stay to avoid the construction - I could do breakfast in my room and other meals in the parks if need be.

We just transferred from CSR to BCV today. It was our first time at CSR. The construction didn’t really impact us at all in our room. We never heard anything and our area was beautiful. We were in Casitas 3 on the side closest to El Centro. We had booked standard, but got upgraded to preferred (which has now spoiled us). Of course, we saw lots of construction around the resort walking around, but it didn’t bother us. It may spoil some of the magic for others, though, as there is a significant amount of work going on. There was a small corner of Pepper Market blocked off with walls, but was open and easy to access for the most part.

I just stayed at CSR for the first time. Amazing. I think it's our new "home."
Hi! How did you find the construction? Did it impact you? How much does it impact the beauty of the resort? Is it still possible to have a quiet afternoon reading by the pool?

We just stayed over the weekend and didn't think construction bothered us too much. We were in the back of Ranchos 7A so we couldn't hear any kind of construction from there. I don't love the look of the giant tower of buildings. To me it just doesn't match the theme of the resort. It's all personal preference and we will most likely choose somewhere else next time for a variety of reasons. But to answer your question, we really didn't think construction was too bad.

On a completely unrelated note, we saw lots of turtles in the water and a baby alligator.

Just saw on the FB group that the Gartner Symposium is scheduled to end on 10/18, which is the day before we arrive. I know this is a huge convention that people ideally want to avoid. For anyone who's been there during this time, did you find it to be disruptive with tear-downs or people staying past the convention through the weekend? Anything to be concerned about after its over?

We stayed 8 nights up till two days ago. We were casitas 3. Construction was generally quiet except for one morning we had some really loud hammer drills or something going off outside. The aesthetic is impacted the most. Water view rooms don’t have their previous charm. There is quite a bit of construction in the center of the lake as well as the tower being built. I wished we had just requested a room in the back of the building nearer the bus stop.

But we still loved our stay and were not impacted by construction on any activity that we wanted to do.

We are just home after a four night stay, just myself and DH. (We left the kiddos at home this time to do DAH and have some couple time.)

We booked AP rate, standard room. I had requested a refurbished room and had sent a fax via Touring Plans for Casitas 4 or 5. When we arrived on Saturday morning, around 9:30 and went to the front desk for an unrelated issue, the cast member checked on our room and let us know our room was ready and we had been upgraded. We were in a room in Casitas 1.

We loved the refurbished rooms! This was our first time staying in a moderate, we have only ever stayed at WL, GF, BC, and AKL, so I was trepidacious, but it was great. For the most part we found the hotel very quiet and peaceful. There were some soccer groups but they were not staying in rooms close to ours and didn't bother us. The Dig Site pool did seem rather crowded but since we had no kids with us we just went to The Casitas quiet pool and it was great. We heard very little construction noise. It really didn't affect our stay in the slightest.

Bus service seemed comparable to any other Disney property that we have stayed at. We never waited longer than 15 monutes, usually much less.

The hotel is VERY spread out. I think we had an easier time of it being in a preferred location. If we were to stay here again, (somewhat unlikely with a family of 5) I would pay the extra money to ensure a closer room to El Centro.

I think the resort will be beautiful when complete although not enough pool space for that huge tower. All in all a wonderful short trip.

This is what I’m worried about! We enjoyed CSR enough that we are considering staying there again on our trip next year. However, I’m worried about how crowded the common areas will become when you toss in an additional huge tower’s worth of people.
