Looking for opinions on Windsor vs. Reunion

Hello
Let me start off by saying we have stayed at Reunion before for a shorter visit, but recently some on here and many elsewhere have been favoring Windsor. So I was debating for the next trip should we switch?
I never stayed at Windsor but visited family from abroad staying there once for a nightcap, so didn't really see the outside resort. One thing I noticed was the condo was more dated than the condo we stayed at in Reunion.
The distance from Disney may have something to do with it, but what else is there?
We never really experienced traffic to Reunion (maybe we were lucky).
So, Reunion has a kids club (we have kids to be entertained), arcade, many different pools a splash pad (free) and paid other amenities (Spa) that aren't too expensive.
I do not know what Windsor offers so curious why choose Windsor over Reunion? What do they offer guests/renters? We will be there for 2 weeks off peak.
Rates seem similar to me on VRBO etc... for condos and whole house.
I guess I am looking to see what Windsor has and what your choice would be? FYI we have a car and annual pass so parking not an issue.
TIA

I have not noticed prices being similar, Windsor hills is generally cheaper.

I also prefer the larger pools with the screened lanai oat Windsor Hills.

If I found a Reunion rental with a similar price and decent pool I would also book there, that just hasn't been the case in my experience

I think you'll find Windsor Hills less expensive. The amenities are fantastic and we appreciate the screened in pool (bugs & lizards). It's also closer to the parks, restaurants and shopping.

We stayed in a condo at Windsor Hills this summer and it was fine. In hindsight, I wish we had done a townhouse with a splash pool. It would have been nice to swim right in our own place at the end of the day. Price was good, and I think we got a lot for what we paid.

The condo itself was completely fine-- clean, well-furnished, etc. We had access to Netflix so on the nights we were not at the parks, that was a nice perk. The area outside the condo-- I wasn't a huge fan. It was really OK, but the grounds were not as manicured as what one would typically see at a hotel/resort. And of course, this is understandable since it's not a timeshare, or hotel. There was a lot of brush, thick bushes, etc. Walking to the pool at night was a little worrisome considering it is Florida and lizards and snakes are in their natural habitat, and there is a huge pond on property. For the record, we didn't see any lizards or snakes. :-) My girls went night swimming with my husband and came back with tons of bugs and mosquitoes stuck all over their bathing suits. This never happened when we stayed in a resort timeshare. Not sure if it's because they spray for bugs more often, or the fact that Windsor Hills is located in an area with a lot of woods/trees surrounding it.

Aside from that, it was a good place to stay and convenient to the Parks. Walmart was right down the street. The new water slide area wasn't open yet which was a huge disappointment. It had an early spring opening date all set to go, which is why I booked it for our July trip. It still wasn't ready in July. :-( It looks amazing though and will be a great amenity when it's finally open.

Sorry have been MIA at work but decided on Reunion. Thanks for the replies.

It was a bit cheaper at Windsor but nothing that breaks the bank, overall ~$175 total more, for Reunion, so I booked it. It being off season I suppose and also a condo maybe? - house doesn't show anymore, too late.
But I booked Reunion mostly because Penmac reminded me of the bugs. I completely forgot about the bug situation. Thanks Penmac. Last I was there I didn't notice the bugs at Reunion but certainly all over the rest of Florida. Our car looked like a dead bug cemetery YUK! (we drove up from PBI airport).
Thanks all!

Congrats! Have fun- I will have to check out Reunion for our trip next year (dates TBD). I’m so glad my tip about the bugs jogged your memory. We had stormy weather the week we were there so my girls were only night swimming that one time, and said it was so much fun. My husband said the bugs really shortened their stay at the pool that night. He said it was unbearable to stay any longer but the kids were having tons of fun!

What!? Did they tell you want happened? I thought they were totally ready to open in mid-April.

Yes, the owner of the condo we rented filled me in. He said there were problems with the positioning of some of the slides and things would have to be moved. I guess it must have failed an inspection. We were there in early July and the project was at a standstill. Nothing was being moved. The slides and splash area looked great- just missing the water!
