One of the most important items in our vacation planning includes preparing for the care of our cats! Knowing they are in good hands gives us peace of mind and makes for a relaxing vacation!

So, in honor of World Cat Day, we are recognizing our family of kitties!

Joe and I are proud cat parents of 8! We are a mini pet rescue! Our most recent addition last year included a stray mom with two kittens.
So, I am proud to introduce:

Jill- 20 years old!

They are in very good hands when we travel as they have A+ pet sitters. My sister (who is also a cat mom to many) is happy to be on duty as well as we have a pet sitter through a local pet sitting service!

So, even though we miss our "kids" while we are away, we have wonderful sitters for them which allows us to travel often!

It is empress Janet day
Her turn to be queen bee today

:cake::bday::yay:

Very special wishes going out to my new DIS friend!!
I'm so excited for all of the DIS meets we will be having on our fall trip! :cheer2: Looking forward to meeting you in person, Janet!!:)

Janet- Have a wonderful, fabulous, amazing day!!!

On Tuesday, my last day in Orlando, it was time to clean and pack up!! We decided to have brunch at a restaurant that I found about on the DIS. It was highly recommended by my friend, @Gina-Gina-Bo-Bina !!

Gina is the unofficial Ambassador of Orlando!!:thumbsup2 (They really should give her a free vacation for all she does to promote Orlando!) She visits so many interesting restaurants and tourist attractions, provides amazing pictures, and gives us tips and tricks to save $$!!! Thanks for another tip!!:)

Our destination was Hash House A Go !! Their theme is Twisted Farm food- serving comfort food in plentiful portions! The decor includes pictures and details about farming.

To say that the portions here are plentiful is a true understatement!! They are gigantic!! Neither of us could come close to finishing our meals!!

Troy had a pancake with a side of potatoes.

I had the corned beef hash which comes with potatoes, eggs(had mine with cheese!!), a biscuit, and some fresh fruit.

My leftovers were going to be my dinner before my flight. I couldn't even finish them!!

Airport traffic was light and security lines minimal as well. That is a huge bonus in Orlando!!:thumbsup2 Flight was slightly delayed, but arrived home later that evening.

What a nice trip!! Kyle is now settling in his new home in Ft. Lauderdale. We've put all the plans in place to get Troy home next week. I had special times with both of my sons! And squeezed in some park time at Universal!!:cool1: And a great bonus was a DISmeet with @Monykalyn and her DH. :)

A truly action packed 4 days!!::yes:: WOW!!

WOOT! Great report of your quick days with the boys. Cats too! LOL

Countdown is around 10 weeks away, but so glad to be able to try to catch up with you. Enjoy reading your report. And oh my god, that food. Looks so lush, and so much food. Cheesy eggs are one of my favorite ways to eat eggs.

Aw, you are too sweet . I love trying new things on our trips and sharing the success stories (and savings opportunities) with other folks here on the boards. Orlando is such a great city, it would be a shame not to explore it! :)

Aren't the portions at Hash House crazy? :crazy2: The food is so delicious but I always feel awful at how much goes to waste. We always seem to end up there on one of our final nights of vacation so there's never enough time to eat the leftovers that we bring back to the villa. And NEVER enough room for dessert :sad1: ... now THAT makes me a little sad!

Oh Patty, they are all simply GORGEOUS . And each of them so blessed to have a momma like you!

I was considering a third and thought that might be too many :scratchin .... but knowing you can handle a crew of 8 makes me think 3 might be a pretty manageable number after all ;). Violet and Dash need a Jack Jack! :teeth:

After hearing about the kitties I’m glad to see pics of those sweeties!
We went to hash house last August or November (trips blending together lol) was very good but just too much food. We actually prefer KeKe’s in Dr Phillips area for breakfast.
Really hoping to squeeze in a September trip for HHN!

Almost to Nashville where we are stopping for night-DD’s car is packed. The giant Stitch she picked up for her sister needs its own seat!

Thanks for following along, Lynne!!:)
Your August trip is right around the corner!!:cheer2: And all of our fall trips are getting close, too!!:thumbsup2

The food at Hash House a Go Go was very good!! Humongous portions! and yep-adding cheese to anything makes it better!:thumbsup2

You have really taught me, and THOUSANDS of others here that Orlando is much more than theme parks!:thumbsup2 For many years, we didn't venture outside of Disney property! And while Disney is amazing, there is so much more in Orlando! And we'll keep coming back to see it all! :cool1:

Yeah- couldn't believe how much food we got!! And ours were not the biggest plates. There was a table next to us with plates the size of large serving platters! We'll have to go back sometime for just dessert!::yes:: Geez- what kind of portion will we get???

Thanks! Love them all!!:lovestruc We obviously never planned on that many, they just find us! And I can't say no. We did have 8 cats years ago as well. Again, there would be a stray that we'd find at home or work that needed us- and little by little we had 8!! A few years ago, we had 2 and it seemed lonely. So we actively sought out another cat. I told Joe then we shouldn't look for more cats as they'll find us and voila! they did!! :)

Well, no empty nest in our future even thought the kids will be gone!! :goodvibes The boys love them as well! They learned so much from having pets. The unconditional love of a pet is amazingpaw: and the kids learned to put the needs of others before their own! I truly believe they are better young men because they grew up with pets! And Kyle now has his own cat family!! Your Jake also has blessed you with a grand cat!!

And 3 cats- definitely not too many!! Come on home Jack Jack!!:cat:

Thanks! They are sweet! The whole bunch of them!! :) And after our talks, don't be shocked if our next family picture includes a chicken!! :teeth: I was telling Joe just how much fun we all had together and shared the pictures. He so wished he was there to meet you guys! But he was just as interested in hearing more about your chickens!!::yes::

Never heard of KeKe's- Dr. Phillips is close to Universal so will add that on our to do list!:thumbsup2

:goodvibes on finding time for a Sept HHN trip!!

DD is so thoughtful to bring her sister a gift ! And a giant Stitch!! :stitch2: How cute!

Safe travels the rest of the way home!:)

Aww, such a good cat Momma. Cute cats, all of them. And nice, an old one at 20. All the cats I had died in their mid 20's, two came from the pound, the other came from a neighbor that left him after they left. Our Smokey lasted 26 years, and was the oldest one.

Yep, little one and I will have to try that restaurant one of our days. Though not for breakfast, as the only think I think she would order is a pancake and bacon. We rarely go out to breakfast with her. Older one on the other had, would happily go to any breakfast place with me. He likes almost everything. Since we are not club level, and the Portofino does not have free breakfast, we're stopping at the Navy on our way out of the airport, first to pick up tickets for the Eye and Universal. Then, they have a little shop, with class 6 stuff, so a wine bottle for me, some soda, and whatever she wants to snack as breakfast and snack. I am also going to try to take her to Peach Valley Cafe, as I get their ads in my email, and they have seasonal lemon blueberry pancakes. Yes, please. Oh yeah, food and drinks are part of vacation for sure.

Oh, and chickens are so much work, after seeing them being taken care of, it's a no for me. I'm sure you've read my stories about my neighbor's 8 chickens. Yep, they had eggs for about 4 or 5 years, but since those chickens can live for about 10 years, his thoughts of chicken dinner were dashed when his wife named the chickens, and they come when called. I will say, though, the eggs were very good, and fun, as the chickens are from South America, and called the Easter Egg birds. We'd get light green, light yellow and light pink egg shelled eggs. Only thing different was the yoke was a darker color than we we usually saw in eggs bought from the local market. Taste was the same, though I thought tasted fresher. Well, as fresh as collected the day or so before. And like MonyK, they first got one that started to grow up as a rooster. Yeah, like her, they had to get rid of that rooster too. They only wanted eggs, not more chicks.

I am loving this! We are going in November and staying club level at HRH. We also booked the cabana. You are affirming everything I thought of both! We are so excited.
