Park, resort or other?

It's been a rough few weeks for us since we returned from DW. Mom has been put under Hospice care; Redstorm and the volleyball coach have "butted heads" and she may not be playing much volleyball this year :rolleyes1; my sister-in-law was diagnosed with cancer; we have a "visitor" in our backyard...

...we're told by a game warden it's a young Red Shouldered Hawk...and to "keep an eye on young CHILDREN & ANIMALS" :scared:; my niece (who lives right behind us) just killed a 4 1/2 foot rattlesnake in her driveway :scared1: and last Sunday we just about lost that same niece's youngest granddaughter who she found face down in their swimming pool around 9 AM. She gave her CPR while 911 was called, the hospital worked feverishly to stabilize her and she was transported to Texas Children's Hospital via Life Flight. FINALLY good news tonight when she called us to tell us about the rattlesnake. Earlier today she sent the doctors a video of Harmony (who's been home about 36 hours) jumping on the trampoline! :dance3: They were amazed that she was so active already and back to "being a 3 year old". :goodvibes :tink:
Oh, Goop! My heart aches for you & your family right now... so happy to hear your niece's granddaughter's recovery. I worked for some time at Children's Specialized Hospital in NJ with near drown victims... so heartbreaking for families whose children don't fully recover. She had an angel with her that day...

Isn't it great? You know what a "close call" that was! I'm not crazy about that stupid hawk NOW and I'm told "they are magnificent birds when full grown"! :scared1: Sure wish it would "relocate"! At least the squirrel population seems down :rolleyes1. Thought maybe he was the reason we haven't seen any snakes yet this year but that theory doesn't prove true! That snake was HUGE! :scared: Really thankful we don't have any pets in the backyard now! :tink:
We have a red tailed hawk in our neighborhood, beautiful bird, yes they eat squirrels and snakes, but I am sure they would also snatch up a small cat or dog. Love to see him when he visits our yard.

She sure did! Along with a lot of angels at our local hospital; one of our friends was on ER duty that morning and she said they had a rough time stabilizing her. My niece said her husband was "useless" but she used to teach CPR and State Safety Regulations to oil field workers so she was able to keep herself calm and do what needed to be done...which saved her life. Thank goodness they began searching for her as soon as they realized she wasn't with her sisters. Only a few short minutes but I know how quickly toddlers can "get into trouble"...I ran a Family Home Day Care for 30+ years! :scared: :tink:

He's a beautiful bird but I'm scared of him! He's SO big! :scared1: :tink:
