AP discount?

Has anyone ever been able to get a AP discount on a RV site? How about the Disney Visa? We used to get military or AAA and no more.... unless they change on the military.

I know it is about timing and availability. I am just wondering if "ever"!

I have not. I have an AP and Disney Visa. I was able to get the Enchanting Escape discount that is offered for this late Summer/Fall, but that is open to anyone. I know AAA went away last year. I haven't heard of anyone getting a military discount.

No need for a military discount, they have Shades of Green. And as others have mentioned previously, supply/ demand, why offer discounts for the Fort when you can fill it for regular price. Until Disney prices everyone out of their range, there will be no discounts or offers. Now conversely, if everyone stopped camping there or if there was a serious decline in use, they might. But then again, at that time they might just use the space for some more DVC buildings.

Carrie,

About the only discount that comes around now for the past several years is a 10-15% in the late summer into the end of September. But the number of discounted sites are "limited".

As the others above had said, there are no other discounts. There is no need to use discounts to get bookings when the campground is pretty booked year round. The hot Florida summer months and into the early fall when school starts are the only time there is a break in the action.

It is what it is.

Seems like the only way to get a discount these days is to know a cast member. Im lucky to have on in the family who saves me $800 a month on a premium site Jan and Feb. That is the only way we can stay that long.

No beds to strip/remake, no toilets to clean, no carpets to vacuum, no furniture to dust ----- individuals willing to pay top $$$$$ to park a room(s) on wheels just to stay in a complex worth a bazillion $$$$ with entertainment, food offerings from "you fix it to 5 star" plus transportation throughout after a short walk from your door ------- don't think I'll hold my breathe waiting.

My CM connection tells me he can't get ANY discount Not even for my sister (his wife). I've always been skeptical of that...

I can/could see an advantage of offering an AP discount on RV sites even if it was 10% simply to get people to come more often with their AP and spend $$. Or, just to encourage APs. I love Fort Wilderness and I love Disney. I do wonder if I will get to the point that I am priced out. I have always agreed to the price because you get a lot for the money you spend but boy is it getting a little bit crazy now. It is still at the "we will go" stage but definitely inching closer to the "oh my goodness no way" stage! ha We have never had or done an AP so I was wondering if maybe it is a little bit of an incentive. I know the Fort is pretty full all the time now.

The Fort isn't close to pricing me out yet. Unlike my old favorite camping place in Destin. I checked their "Beach front" sites yesterday... $219/night for a spot wide enough for slides OR awnings, not both. Too bad.

As for the AP being an incentive, I'll say yes. My trip in 14 days is only because I got APs last year and figured I'd get one more trip in before they expired. I was already going to Gulf Shores with the camper, so I added some Fort days at the beginning. If I hadn't had the APs, I probably wouldn't have done this.

Fort Wilderness very much offers Military discounts (on the cabins). We routinely get a cabin around $230/nt with a military discount. As a side note, Shades of Green is no where near the quality or amenities of the Disney operated properties.
