Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Am I correct in that all BCV rooms have a full balcony? I think I read that somewhere but now I can't remember!

Yes, some are larger than others, but I don't believe there are any "Juliet" -type balconies there. Last May we had one of the smaller balconies although plenty large enough for two chairs and a table while on previous stays we have had a balcony with chairs/table and room to spare. Then again, we have had a patio on the first floor that barely held the two chairs and table with enough room to get out the door.

First up: Came across this statement in the Villas post.

Currently (2016), there is a concierge Cast Member on duty at BCV from 8 am to 4 pm. When on duty, you may check-in either at the Beach Club front desk or here.

Still true, or AYKM? (Are you kidding me?)

:confused3

I did not see anyone at 8:30 am, 10 am, or 10:30 am yesterday (and I would have asked what the hours were had I seen someone yesterday.) I did see someone there earlier in the week.

Hello, BC&YC friends...I'M BA-A-A-ACK....

Was just able to snag a BC Studio Villa for my trip this fall... YAY! I've been searching for quite awhile, and actually had made a Boardwalk resv cause it just wasn't happening! Then, lo and behold, there it was this morning!!!

I'll be traveling with a family I love dearly, but who really don't know ANYTHING about WDW, except that they wanted to go to celebrate their daughter's graduation from College. She's got some disabilities, so it has been a struggle for the whole family, and now... well, here we come! There are 5 of them, mom, dad, adult daughter, adult son and his wife. They will be staying in the Dolphin on their Marriott points, so I wanted to be able to be somewhere close to them.

They are such special people, but I realized early on that this trip will be very challenging for me, kind of acting as their very own tour guide. I'll be showing them all around the parks, and other areas, and spend as much or as little time with them as they want from me... So needless to say, I needed my place to come "home" to at the end of the day, to decompress, and my most favorite resort in the world will be just the place!

I've never stayed in a Villa, so am busy looking at TP for room views, and trying to figure out the best spot for me to sit on the balcony in the AM with my coffee and plan the day, and at night with a glass of wine, staring off into space!

So, Dee can you please add me to the BOG list:
Nov 24 - Dec 1 - BC Studios Villa

Will be SO great coming back to BC!!!
Jeanne

EDITED: Dee, I see I'm still on the list for YC for late Nov... so you can remove that one and add this one... YAY... can't wait!!

Correct. For a few years The BC Marketplace's opening time was 7:00AM. Just within the last year or so, they began opening at 6:00AM for all other goods and services except hot items, which as you noted is 7:00AM.

Do you (or anyone) know if the timing is the same at the Yacht Club Ale & Compass marketplace thingy?

:magnify:

2. On a totally related note....(read: Disneymoon)
There are Keurigs in rooms at YC, yes? Does anyone know if they ever stock them with decaf tea? Chamomile would be perfect.

3. The fridges at YC are unable to maintain ice, yes? We each recently got YETI water bottles and they will keep even Disney fountain water ice cold if there's some ice in the bottom. We plan on carrying them in the parks with us.

A HUGE CONGRATS Scott... so happy for you both!!

After a 2 year Disney break (can’t believe it’s been that long), I’m back! My yougest DD just informed us that she’d like to celebrate her 21st B-Day next summer at Disney so it looks like I have a lot to catch up here since we will definitely be staying at either YC or BC - our home away from home!

Has anyone ever used Disney provided rails with the daybed in the Beach Club?
I would like my toddler to sleep in the daybed, however she would definitely need a rail. I am not familiar with the bed rail Disney provides and if it will work/fit with the daybed.

:welcome:

Do you have a trip booked?

This is the only picture I have of bedrails used with the daybed, and I'm not even sure if these were provided by the resort or brought from home.

Does anyone have recent pictures or comments about Disney-provided bedrails?

:goodvibes

As always, thanks for the info! I have added this to the YC Post 9 and Photo/Video Post 16.

:thumbsup2

Hoping to stay at BCV for a Nov. 2019 trip and renting points.

:welcome: to posting on this forum!

Please let us know if you book a trip here.

::yes::

That is so cool! I am hoping my boys' 21st BDs will renew their interest in a vacation at WDW.

I'll add you to the list for next summer- let us know when you have specific plans!

:cool1:

Wd'll be there tomorrow! At PORS right now (and it's been lovely) but so excited to be coming back to the Beach Club - can't wait for SAB and walking to Epcot. Also, will be our first ever club level stay:cloud9:

Have a most magical stay!

Sadly, we have to be removed from the Be Our Guest list for December.

Our two week, four resort, fabulous holiday vacation has been summarily cancelled by my self-centred FIL, who has decided he needs us to spend that two weeks with him at the cottage instead. He doesn’t care that we had plans, he’s fighting with his caregiver and refuses to have her travel with him as planned. So, he has commanded our presence, and refusing isn’t an option. Sigh. But the world revolves around him, and the rest of us must jump to accommodate his every whim.

My consolation trip is a stolen long weekend at the beginning of December, but there weren’t any discounts available at YC/BC, so we’re trying WL instead. I’m still annoyed, though, since I’d made the perfect set of ADRs for the original trip, and now I’ve got nothing. Stalking the website and have set up a couple of Touring Plans alerts, maybe something will come through. Fingers crossed for some pixie dust and good luck with getting at least a few of our fav ADRs.

Not having a great day.

I am so sorry. That is devastating. I hope you didn't cancel yet just in case he changes his attitude.

He won’t. He’s been like this for decades, and he’s only getting worse with age. I appreciate the kind (and hopeful) thoughts, though. I should have known better than to try to make plans without running them by him first. Not thrilled about spending my Christmas holidays as the maid and short order cook, but at least I’ve got weekend trips in October and early December, and DH says we can steal another weekend in February for my birthday. Gotta be grateful for what you’ve got, right?

I am so sorry. I can totally relate. Last year i had a 12 day 3 way split between AKL, WL, and YC scheduled for the first part of December. At about 5 months out my boss said she had changed her mind, and could I please change my vacation dates so she could go to Hawaii to watch her Granddaughter play in a basketball tournament. Begrudgingly I did. It had to be changed to Thanksgiving and cost me a pretty penny. I too had to work at getting ADR's and most of them FINALLY came through! Good luck :flower:

I am sorry about your overbearing FIL, I had a MIL who was like that. It makes life very difficult at times. My only advice is to try to make the best of it. My MIL passing 22 years ago is probably the reason my marriage is still intact!

Hang in there.

We haven’t stayed at BCV recently, are there makeup mirrors in the villas? When the BWV were refurbished they added them, but the VWL still do not have them. Thanks!

Hi there,
I let my AP expire last spring, and of course I have two quick trips planned. Thinking of upgrading when I get there. Anyway, can anyone with an AP let me know if there are AP discounts at the Beach Club for two nights, November 15 & 16? I will be on Orlando for a work conference and am staying a few extra nights at WDW.
Thanks!
