Fantasmic question

I haven't seen Fantasmic since 2001 and we missed it by a week last summer so I'm trying to get familiar with how Fast pass works for Fantasmic. My question is, can we watch from bridge that goes over the que for Pirates? That was our favorite spot back in the day. I'd much rather watch it from there than down in front. TIA!

Yes, you can do standby viewing from the bridge, but the wait for the front row will be long (3-4 hours?). The ropes go up around 5:30 pm or so, for the first F! show, and the front row by the railing fills fast. Unless you are tall, the viewing from the back rows won't be very good. If you get a free F! FP, you can view from the front area between the far right of the RBT reserved area and the Mark Twain dock (sort of the area by the petrified tree). There is more free FP viewing mixed with standby on the raised area in front of the Cafe Orleans patio. Almost all of the free FP viewing is standing now. Be sure to get your F! FPs early because they are still gone by noon-ish/very early afternoon each day.

Here is a recent map of the F! viewing areas (HT: Disneyland Daily):

We watched F! Last night. Book a dining package at River Belle or Blue Bayou. Nothing beats a great view and being able to sit before and during the show. You can thank me later

How bad was the Hungry Bear seating, deedubb? We go next week and I wasn't able to get BB or RBT, so I booked the HB on the go package. I do have a reservation finder set in case someone cancels BB, but we might be stuck with HB.

I’m not sure. I thought they were the standing section to the right of us but from the map it looks like that was the FP section. I don’t know if they got to sit or had to stand. I’ve heard that you may be able to sit but if there are a lot of people, you would have to stand.

Keep looking for a reservation. We loved the show so much that we decided to do it again on our last day. There were no reservations available last night for Blue Bayou when we got back to the hotel so I booked River Belle again. Checked again this morning and found a lunch spot for BB so I booked it and canceled the RB one. I think there is a high probability of cancellations as the date gets closer.

The Hungry Bear section is great for F! viewing. Our family did not particularly enjoy the food (we didn't love the choices or the food itself) but the seating/viewing area was great. And yes, it was seated- right next to Blue Bayou's seating area. There have been some rumors on here that the HB section is sometimes asked to stand if its full but most people report being able to sit on the ground. We are trying RBT package this weekend and BB the following so am curious to compare them.

If you really want RBT or BB I agree to keep checking as things do open up frequently.

My DD just did the Hungry Bear seating last week. She was seated and said it was a great view, with the exception of the rail right in front of her.

We did it 2 weeks ago and it was great. It seemed just as good as our pricier BB package from our last trip in the fall which is the only time we’d seen it before. Just get there early and go towards the right which will put you up against the BB section. If it’s hot consider getting something to sit on. My only complaint was the ground was scorching and never cooled off.
