I can't tell if we've landed...Spring Break 2018 with Grammy and the teens-UPDATE 9/30

That's a cool concept, but none of that food looks good to me so unfortunately that gets an automatic no from us. Are you doing the Tier I or Tier II package?

We're doing Tier 1. I was intrigued by the safari. Not sure how it's all going to work out but the package hits all 3 of my favorite things at AK! Tiffins, FoTLK and the Safari!

Good choice! I wonder how that safari differs from the regular one. It sounds intriguing…if only I was a more adventurous eater!

I was wondering about that too. Maybe they just give us FPs for the safari ride!
Tiffin's is not all too exotic, they are actually less heavy handed with weird spices than some other places on property. It may surprise you!

A STROLL TO ENJOY THE FLOWERS AND GARDENS

I left off heading to the World Showcase. I apologize in advance, but this post will really just be the pictures as we strolled along. Allie left to meet up with Nicholas, so Grammy and I just took our time checking out the gorgeous flowers.

I spotted this sign and sent it to Nicholas because he loves Smash Mouth. He ended up going to this, but said they weren't that great live.

We spent a lot of time poking around in the tea gardens. Not only was it beautiful in there, but I'm a big tea drinker, so it was interesting to see how they make the tea that we drink.

THE ONE WHERE WE EAT…

We finally met back up with Allie just before our ADR. Nicholas didn't want to join us. I'm guessing he grabbed some QS food, while Grammy, Allie and I headed to Italy...
95.jpg

96.jpg

We had an ADR for Via Napoli. This is one of our favorite places to eat in EPCOT and we usually eat here every trip. This is the best pizza I've outside of CT. For those of you who don't know, New Haven, CT is famous for their pizza. Since NH is about 45 minutes from where I live, it's not the pizza we get all the time but there are enough really good pizza places in my area that we get our pizza from. Mike and I like to take a road trip to NH now and again specifically for the pizza though. It's really amazing  Via Napoli is the closest we come to really good pizza in WDW, but still not as good as New Haven pizza.
97.jpg

I tried many times to get a clear shot of those amazing ovens, but those people kept getting in my way :P
98.jpg

This will come as no surprise, Grammy and I split a salad. I eat a lot of WDW salad, but this may just be my favorite

We ordered a couple of pizzas, which was really too much for the three of us but I wanted to try something I have heard a lot about on these boards. First, the Margherita Pizza:

The second pizza we ordered was Carciofi Pizza (white pizza - artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, truffle oil):

They were both delicious. I actually preferred the Margherita pizza because I loved their tomato sauce, and the Carciofi was almost too rich for me. We ended up with a lot of leftovers but didn't take them with us since we weren't leaving right away, so it was kind of wasteful to get two.

Definitely an awesome meal and we left really full and satisfied.

We needed to walk some more to burn off some of those pizza calories :-)

OUR EPCOT DAY COMES TO AN END

Perfection...

We took our time and had one last ride on Spaceship Earth before heading out...

By the time we got back to BLT, the sun was really going down and it just made for the most amazing view:

I'm guessing Nicholas made his way back to us at some point, but I think he really enjoyed having a little space and free time. He's definitely an "absence makes the heart grow fonder," kind of kid, so he's much nicer to be around when he's not around

I'm just going to do one more post from this day…because obviously, 115 pictures isn't quite enough, I have to post some of the cuter photo pass photos :D

What a shame about Smash Mouth not being good. We went to see them in Santa Cruz and thought they weren't very good but they are there in October when we are there so we thought we would give them a second chance but after hearing another person state this I might not waste my time again.

Oh you have me so ready for some Via Napoli Pizza. Carciofi is my most favorite pizza of all time. Though so jealous you all live so close to New Haven. We have a friend from that area and he was up there for a wedding last weekend and was gushing about the pizza.

Loving all your photo pass pics. But were they taking them from a ladder or something. Don't think I've ever seen those angles.

I've never been a big fan so I wouldn't go out of my way, but I guess I'd stop to listen if I was walking by.

Come on up…we can have a DisMeet for pizza :P

New Haven, CT also happens to be the birthplace of the hamburger…a little place called Louie's Lunch. I've never been there but it was featured on Food Network. Probably the two best things about CT!

Isn't that funny? He was standing at the top of the stairs and told us to go down the stairs. Very creative!

Well that stinks :( I'm not a Smash Mouth fan but every concert we've been to at F&W or F&G has been great, no matter how old the performers :D But most of the ones we've seen were better than Smash Mouth to begin with lol

For those of you who don't know, New Haven, CT is famous for their pizza.
::yes:: My friends' father (before he retired) had to go to NH for work sometimes and whenever he did, would bring pizza home for dinner. And then I would usually weasel my way over!

He's definitely an "absence makes the heart grow fonder," kind of kid, so he's much nicer to be around when he's not around
:rotfl:OMG, wish Chris was like this but he's still a PITA when I pick him up after being gone for awhile!

Well, now I feel bad for Smash Mouth. And before everybody starts skipping their concert, let's all remember that this poor review came from my 16 year-old boy who, let's be honest, hates everything :P For example, his father took him out yesterday and we bought him a new (used) car so he will have a car when he gets his license in a couple of weeks. I texted him and asked him if he was excited. He replied, "meh.' >:( That just goes to prove that we should all take any review he gives with a grain of salt!

You can come join me and @kastoney for our pizza Dismeet :D

:rotfl:Poor Chris! I think I'm feeling more sympathetic towards him because I was just reading about his rash and now his sneezing fit :sad1:

I find this hysterical and I can also relate, because
1. I can see a few of Ricky's friends answering the same way
2. Chris hated his spring basketball team because he only knew one kid on it and the team was BAD. The spring league was new, first year they did it, and it was kind of disorganized. So for summer he's back with his regular coach, normal teammates plus a couple of his good friends (good as in good friends AND good players) were added to his team. When the roster came out I asked him if he was excited now and he said "Nope, we still won't be in 1st place because we don't have Oais (another player)" :headache: NEVER HAPPY
3. Ricky will be getting a car in Oct. and he's already said it has to be the same kind his brothers have so.........queue the negative comments if we don't deliver lol! Oh, and it will be used!

Oh my gosh, that’s hysterical! Nicholas and Chris are two peas in a pod!

I guess this “Teen angst” thing is real! And it prompts ME to say all
kinds of horrible things, like, “when I was your age...” or “ “do you know how lucky you are?!” I know how awfully parental that sounds and I hate myself for saying stuff like that! Ugh...gotta hang in there. Just a few more years :faint:

Hi Kelly stumbled upon you on the PTR thread Epic Girls trip. Tagging along for the ride. Can't wait to read your T.R.

We could literally watch the fireworks from our room every night without using a hefty amount of points to do so.

The kids were not excited about this at all
MAybbe some day when their adults and have to pay out of pocket for their own vacay's they'll understand.

you can hear the kids talking about how they feel bad because we ran over a baby duck in our Splash Mountain boat.

Seeing a pre lunch pattern here

someone was blowing bubbles nearby that I thought would look cute in the photo, but they end up looking like my lens was dusty.
The bubbles are cute.

Thanks for allowing me the trip down memory lane,
Enjoyed visiting memory lane with you. :)

Awesome tip-we purchased Disney ponchos YEARS ago, maybe 2010 or 2013, and we bring them back every trip. If they rip, we bring it into the gift shop and they'll trade it in for a new one. Best $8 I ever spent! I cannot even tell you how many we have traded in :thumbsup2
This, this here is why I love the Dis I had no idea you could do this.

gorgeous

I normally let the kids get up with the characters while I take the pictures, but they both refused to get up
:sad2:

And shortly thereafter, came Chip. When the kids refused to get up to say hello, Chip was NOT having that. He pointed very firmly at the kids and then next to him.
Good for him.

I'm reading this at 2:30am saw this pic and the first thing I did was yawn. LOL

Not all my quotes came up. I've worked ER nights for most of my 33 yr's in Xray and I will be the first to confirm the Full Moon Effect. Is it any wonder that I also branched out a REALTOR?

Well, hello there! Are you going on that EPIC trip? I would like to , I'm just not sure if I can swing it yet!

**Edited to add-I just went and checked and saw you are going :cool1:

Also, I KNOW I've read at least part of your TR
…how could I resist with a title like that?! But I must have lost track and never commented. I still need to find out how that title came about so I'm going back to start again from the beginning!

I hope so! I say the same thing about my dinners I cook for them…maybe someday when they have to cook for themselves they'll appreciate it!

Yup, HANGRY pretty much sums that up

Same! I couldn't even begin to summarize all I have learned on these boards :disrocks:

It's a crazy thing! How do you like being a realtor? It's on my list of things I would like to do when i grow up :-)laughing:) but I can't afford to quit my day job just yet :sad1:
