The attraction you used to love, but is now just eh.

I've seen numerous posts about your least/most favorite attraction, but what about something you used to really like but over time you don't care for much? And why?

Illuminations is near the top of my list. It is a really good show, but after almost 19 years there is just now wow there for me anymore.

I rode Star Tours when it was brand new and it just blew me away as a teenager. I appreciate the update, but the motion-simulation technology isn't cutting-edge like it was in the late 80s.

Mission Space. Really liked the concept initially but for some reason it lacks a draw to keep me coming back.

The Indiana Jones stunt show. I mean....talk about show fatigue.

I’m guessing you will get every single ride at some point as an answer from people. I don’t really focus on what doesn’t wow me, I just go on rides and enjoy for what it’s worth. I also don’t want to be a downer to others I’m with. Biggest and best part for me is just being there.

What helps ME is when I can take someone "new" to WDW with me.
I like to see their surprised reactions to attractions to which I have become well-accustomed.
It lets me re-live some of my earliest experiences through their eyes.

This works well with watching old favorite films, too, with folks (kids?) who have never seen them before.
I certainly know The Wizard of Oz, virtually word-for-word,
but getting to show it to kids in our family for the first time makes it exciting for ME, once more.

I particularly like to show someone who has never seen it (not kids, in this case) the Bruce Willis film, The Sixth Sense.
(The last 10 minutes gets 'em every time!)

Agree! I’ll get to do this is in June with someone that’s never been. Can’t wait!

Going to beat up on one of my favorite places, Epcot.

I agree Illuminations is tired. Should be getting something new relatively soon though, it looks like.

Soarin’ around the world wasn’t an improvement. You shouldn’t have to sit in particular seats to experience it properly.

The Mission: Space green update is totally lame. We aren’t quite ready for orange (some day...), but the old green had a little thrill. The new version doesn’t.

I still love to ride them all, but if next time I go Pirates happens to be down for a refurb, I won't be that upset.
And I can't ride Haunted Mansion more than twice during a trip, I get bored the next time.

Yeah, Jungle Cruise. Sure, I'll go on it, but if no one else wants to go, it's just fine to miss.

I also have a love-hate relationship with Haunted Mansion. I do enjoy it, but when I was a kid, that creepy ghost that would hitch a ride home with us kept me up for weeks on end. My son was scared of that for a few years, too and wouldn't ride it.

Indiana Jones, for sure. I'll watch it, but, meh. Been there, done that. Not worth the line up again.

Not sure I care to do Under the Sea again. It's nice, but nothing special and not something from my childhood, so no nostalgia.

I'll agree with Jungle Cruise too - it's a classic but if lines are long - I'll skip it. Ellen's Universe of Energy was the same way for me so I'll be excited to see how Guardians works out.

Jungle Cruise is 100% about the skipper.
A skipper who just parrots the script (which is exactly what the job "calls for") usually means a boat ride past some crude mechanical animals.
(And, I know -sadly- THAT is the experience of so many guests who have ridden this
venerable attraction.)

OTOH, a great skipper is one who offers a magnetic personality and unique takes on the script, and that equals an unforgettable ride.

We ride more than once while in MK in hopes of having the luck of finding the latter.
Some trips (even after literally dozens rides down those waterways) have been magic.

I'm over Star Tours too. I'm starting to get there with Pirates of the Caribbean, particularly at WDW. I didn't even ride it on our last trip and didn't care that I missed it.

I don’t think I’ve been to Disney enough to tire of anything.

However, I can say the reverse about Big Thunder Mountain. As a teenager who wanted rides to be as big and scary as possible, I remember first riding big thunder and thinking it was so tame/lame it nearly put me to sleep.

Now, somewhat older :rolleyes1, my tolerance for fear has dulled quite a bit and it’s now one of my favourite rides.

DS wants to try Rip Ride Rockit at Universal this upcoming visit and wants me to do it with him. I’m trying very hard to channel my inner teenager. :bitelip:

(That emoji is the closest I could find to smiling on the outside, terrified on the inside).

I noticed on this past trip that changing things up helped my perspective. We sat in 2nd row for Indiana and wow! We were only five rows back for Fantasmic and that felt so different. Had row right in front of where the actors come past in Finding Nemo and we felt part of the action. Definitely will try more things like this to mix it up. Count the dolls on It's a Small World, ask for front row on EE, different poses for attraction photos.

I completely agree that who you are with changes your perspective. There aren’t any attractions that I truly can’t stand but I could skip It’s a Small World. I’ve done it so many times that I’m ok if we don’t ride it.
