Hi all! This thread has been super duper informative. Thank you all for the stories and tips already shared!

My bf and I will be attending our first ever holiday party on 11-16.
We aren't big into characters, but I definitely want to meet Sandy Claws. (I'm gonna try for him at the end of the evening as per previous suggestions).

My big question right now is this: While we have multi-day PHs, it is our plan to not use a "ticket day" for the party. All our FPs are booked, but I cant seem to get more than 2 for party day. Is there a way to time things just right to get my 3 FPs in that window between 4-7?

So far, I have *Meet Mickey at Town Square 3:20-4:20 and *Space Mountain 4:20-5:20

There were some FPs available for the ultra short time slot of 5:30-6, but I can not seem to add them for the life of me. Any advice?

Maybe if you call they can help you add the last time.

Sorry.. this is not advice...but Can you please let us know if you get the email that says you have more fast pass days than park tickets!! I'm hoping I can book 2 FP myself for before our party on 12/11...thank you!!

I did not receive an email like that. My hard tix were purchased a while ago (before my FP date). I just linked the MVMCP tix to my account and it gave me an “extra” day to book FPs. All my FPS were booked at the same time (60 days out).

Yes, in the past that has worked, & it has worked for MNSSHP guests this year (not for some).

In the past with party tickets if you make your party FP's after you have done all of your park tickets it has worked out just fine. If you do it the other way around they tend to cancel one day of our FP's. Not sure if that helps you or not. ;)

Yes, you have access to this at 60D. However, MVMCP FP+ should be booked last to "ensure" FP+ are not cancelled. Technically no FP+ for Special Ticketed Events, but guests have been able to for years.

PP with FP+ booked for just MNSSHP did receive emails that FP+ would be cancelled by X Day if they did not make changes in MDE. Some PP dropped the FP+, some made changes, and other called IT and had them reinstated and/or added as "special FP+" so it just depends (and depends on phone CM). There are links in Post #1 that reference FP+ cancellations from party tickets in 2017, no thread for this year, since not as frequent but, it has occurred for guests going to MNSSHP this year.

I've heard so many discrepancies about booking FP with hard tickets.. my FP date is Oct 9th...so I will def book them after I book my other park days!!! That would actually help eliminate meeting mickey during the party!!!!

Thank you!! I've heard it works for some.. so I was intrigued to know!! I hope it does work!! I want to use them too!!!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Cinderella Castle Holiday Dream Lights Installation Begins

It might be Halloween season currently at the Magic Kingdom but there is some additional holiday magic going on! The installation of the iconic Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle is now underway to get the park ready for the upcoming Christmas season and MVMCP.

In 2018 “A Frozen Holiday Wish” will be performed nightly beginning on November 9 and run until the end of the year on December 31. The show is typically held at 7 pm to kick off the start of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party which is held on select nights beginning November 8.

I'm confused. If we decide to buy tickets to the Xmas Party, do I have to make reservations for dinner or dessert also?

Not sure of confusion or question. Purchasing a MVMCP ticket allows you in the party @ 4pm with the actual party hours of 7pm-12am.

There are a few characters that will meet prior to 7pm (CMs will check for party wristbands) --- see Post #1. Free treats are are available from 7pm-12am, post #1 will be updated when released, see 2017 for last year's availability. There are also treats/desserts you can purchase, as well as, the Dessert Package (See Post #1). We typically eat at 2:30 @ CP because we are there until 1am. Sometime @ 4pm @ BoG. We do not eat during party (IMO, wasted time) except for stopping at the treat stations, but we need fuel (food) to last that long, so eat prior to party. If you plan to eat (TS meal) or want to attend the Dessert Party, yes ADRs are needed and the booking window is now open. Hope this helps!

Do they send you through the bypass for this party like they do for MNSSHP? If so, what is there?

Last year we went through the bypass. That’s where they had the first treat station. I think they were big Santa cookies with sprinkles. There was also a photographer but I forget what for.

We always have gotten there about 3:45 and we never went through a bypass.

We went through the bypass last year. Just like the other poster said, we were given packaged sugar cookies with sprinkle. They had some cute inflatable signs and PhotoPass taking pictures with giant ornament photo ops. It was cute!

Happy Sunday!:-)

Today was FP+ day!:yay:

Just finished, went back and cleaned up what I could. Of course, this is on going. Ha!
Only 4 things to change, 3 of those being times. Didn't get 7DMT on 11/16 but MVMCP day, park closes early and it's my 1st day, so no surprise, that's one I wan't expecting, I'll just keep checking. Didn't get Slinky Dog on 11/17, again no surprise, Got AS2 which I planned to do any way, so no actual loss. So just need to keep checking on 7DMT availability, and earlier times for 2 (within 10-20 minutes) & 1 - 1 hour earlier. So a great morning of FP+ selections!!! :santa:

Mine was today too. My party day is 11/15, and I didn't get 7DMT FP either. I'll just try and do it during the party. It's just me, so I won't be too disappointed if I don't do it or it has a wait. I didn't get SDD for my DHS day (11/16) or husband/son's DHS day (11/18). I could have gotten a nighttime SDD for 11/18, but I think my husband and son want to just get there early do it and leave DHS. We will all just do it at rope drop on our days. I did get AS2 instead. It wasn't bad, but I would have preferred to get SDD. Our DHS days are early in our trip though. Got FOP, but we have done it before.

What is the bypass? We have our first party ever on dec 2nd so im not sure what the bypass here means

When you enter MK it is the path that is to your right that goes behind main street. It is used for exiting the park after fireworks during normal park hours. There will be a main street vehicle pointing the way to the bypass as well. It will have a huge sign on the side of it saying Party this way...

It's the back exit between the Plaza Restaurant and the Tomorrowland Terrace bathrooms. It leads right between City Hall and the hat shop at the front. They use it as an exit after fireworks and for entrance during the parties sometimes. It seems they usually have a bag of candy at MNSSHP and a bag of goodies at MVMCP. I don't think they have these bags at the normal food distribution spots.
