Rivers of Light Dinner Package

I am completely lost on how to book this? Is it a dining reservation or a fast pass? Pandora is all new to me. We have eaten at Tusker House before for breakfast and enjoyed that. Is the dinner as good? Also, the web site said 6:30 for times, but then didn’t allow me to pick a time or make a reservation?

Also, I heard the show wasn’t very good, but was going to be revamped. How soon will it be revamped? I’m thinking we will still want to see it, but is the dinner worth it as well?

We did the dining package with lunch at Tiffins. The food was great, and depending on what you order you can definitely get your money's worth.
I had an issue the other day when I was looking at dining times. I could see the time but couldn't pick it. I had to log out and back in and then it worked for me.

Thank you for the feedback! I thought Tiffins was a 2 credit meal. Is it only 1 for lunch? We are on the DDP, but not deluxe this time. Did you do a late lunch? Just trying to figure out if you have to sit for the show right after your meal or if you can come back later to see ROL? I will try to log out and log back in. It makes sense that it might be a web site issue.

The times you can book do change throughout the year as the showtime changes. I believe a Tusker House ressie has to be 2.5 hours before showtime and Tiffins is 3 hours. There can be a larger gap between your meal and the show but not a smaller one.

We did the Tiffins dinner last trip and it was excellent, I would definitely recommend it.

It is a dining reservation but it was not open at 180 last time I booked it.

I like the show and think it is worth seeing for yourself to see what you think.

Ty! Is Tiffins 2 credits if on the DDP? Also, is it kid friendly? Will my 9 year olds enjoy it. We’ve eaten with them at both California Grille and Artist Point. They loved California Grille, but Artist Point was very slow and they were extremely bored there.

I assume it is 2 credits. We were not on the dining plan.

We have taken kids to Tiffins. DD was 5 and 6 when she went and DS was 3. They liked it.

If you are going to eat there anyway then go - but I do not feel it is needed to see Rivers of Light. It is a beautiful show just not a show that I would see often. We saw it August and we walked up without any FPs about 20 minutes before it started and we got right in. It also is not in Pandora - the non FP line is in Dinoland. I hope that helps.

Thank you! This does help. We are going in mid-January during the week, so perhaps we don’t need a dining package.

Yes, Tiffins is 2 credits. If you're on the regular DDP you get an appetizer with your meal that you wouldn't get with a non-ROL dining package meal, which is nice.

We paid OOP for the Tiffins dining package when we did it. And I had a 9 yo and a 12 yo with me and they both loved it. They ordered some things that were pretty exotic for them, but they loved the food and the atmosphere. We went at regular lunch time, I think about 12:00 or so.

Rivers of Light is a MUST DO for our entire family every time we go.

We book the dining package because I don't want to hold a FP that late in the day and I don't want to risk there not being seats.

The show was revamped after it first opened and many still dislike. But many love it as well.

I loved it. I see so little written about it, that I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it, but I found it beautiful & relaxing. I will make it a point to see it again next trip.

I also don't want to hold a FP that late in the day, and definitely don't want to miss it, either. We've never seen it.

Plus, we're going on a busy day. I'm seeing it booking at exactly 180 days now. For those staying on-site, has anyone tried calling in at 180 + 10 like one might with a regular ADR? The latest times are already gone, which are the ones I would want. Plus, we're a party of 5. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try calling.

We ended up reserving Tusker House for a late lunch. It said we are all set for the 1st showing of Rivers of Light. What are the times for the 2 showings? Will it be dark enough at the 1st one?

We do the Tusker House Dining Package every time we go and get the Disney Dining Plan. We usually eat there anyways and get the tickets in case we decide we want to watch the show. We normally get a 10:30 reservation so we can get Breakfast and Lunch

Hi all! We have only one day dedicated to AK on our upcoming trip and it’s also the second to last day so we don’t have a lot of room for error. We haven’t been since Pandora or RoL opened, so lots of new things to see. We like Tusker House and plan to do a lunch there, but are paying OOP. The RoL dining package price will cost our party of 4 over $30 more than just doing a regular Tusker House lunch. We are going the first week of December on a very low crowd projected day for AK. Would the upcharge for the dining package make sense? I would hate to pay for it if I truly don’t need it.
