Having not yet been to F&W whilst on DDP - how does it work? Can you exchange any of your CS/TS credits for snack credits that become valid for F&W? Or are most things on offer deemed CS rather than snacks? Or is DDP not used at all for festival stands? Sorry for the rookie questions...

Most things at the booths are snack credits. (Excluding alcoholic beverages)

You can exchange one counter service credit for 3 food items at The same booth.

I don’t think you can exchange TS credits st the booths.

Just back in the UK after an amazing 10 days in Disney (suffering serious Disney blues right now)

We could only squeeze in one day at Food and Wine but thought I'd share our thoughts on what we managed to scoff down between the 3 of us

Mimosa bar: Tropical Mimosa 8/10 - I really enjoyed this!! probably more so because it was 9am (the best way to start the day) and the face on my other party members (who were coming off mission space feeling a little sickly/regretting their decision) seeing me with it was priceless. Think I must have looked more than a little smug ;)

Cheese Studio: Maple Bourbon Boursin Cheesecake 9/10 - super delicious but lost a mark as it could have been a little colder

Cheese Studio: Sparkling Blueberry Wine 4/10 - it was just okay! Far better fruity alcoholic options to spend your money on IMO

Chocolate Studio: Liquid Nitro Truffle 5/10 - this was probably the one I was most disappointed by as I was so looking forward to trying it after all the rave reviews I've read about it over the years. It just tasted like ice cream to me but I am not the biggest chocolate fan so I can see why others might have more love for it, though watching it being made was cool!

Chocolate Studio: Pumpkin Chai Tea and Chocolate shake 9/10 - remembering it makes me sad I only got to have it once. It doesn't look much in size but its enough as its a little sickly!

Coastal eats: Baked Scampi Dip 7/10 - it was strong tasting in terms of garlic which for me is a win but was a little chewy and not enough bread to dip!

Flavours from Fire: Piggy Wings 9/10 - my partner said it was his favourite item he tried

France: Escargot Croissant 10/10 - buttery, rich and just delicious

France: Passion Martini Slush 8/10 - so refreshing in the heat, lost a few marks because I remember loving it even more when I've had it previous years (can't put my finger on why, probably because the Kir was so good)

France: Sparkling Kir 10/10 - refreshing and just delicious! I got it for myself as originally no one else in my party were fussed by the sound of it...I got to have one sip!

Hops and Barley: New England Lobster Roll 9/10 - even better than previous years I have had it. The amount of lobster was very generous in the one we had, couldn't fault it.

Hops and Barley: Carrot Cake 10/10 - not something I would think to have at a food festival but having seen the reviews I thought why not since we were already queuing for other items at the booth. One of my favourite things! my god that icing :cloud9:

Mexico: Short Rib Tostada 10/10 - I didn't try it but it was my Dad's favourite thing he ate (and this was pre Cava del Tequila so no booze related decision making here!), he's still raving about it.

Mexico: Coconut Rice Pudding 10/10 - My favourite of the festival but I LOVE rice pudding. It was the perfect texture, not too hard or mushy and went so well with my margarita!

Mexico: Mariachi Loco 5/10 - I didn't get any kick until near the end of the drink, I should probably have mixed it around a bit more when I got it. IMO the margaritas at Choza are far superior (hello lime and cucumber :cloud9:)

Mexico: Red Wine Sangria 6/10 - My partner got this and enjoyed it

New Zealand: Green Lip Mussels 2/10 - no one enjoyed these I'm afraid, no taste of garlic just a bit chewy and ever so slightly too fishy

New Zealand: Frozen Wine Cocktail 10/10 - we all agreed this was our fav drink of the day, super refreshing in the heat!

Hope thats helpful for people. I was gutted to not get to try all the things I had on my list especially Ireland for the Guinness shake and the stout dip but we were all stuffed by that point (the chips and guacamole in La Cava probably didn't help with that )

You and I seem to have similar taste in food.

Does anyone know if they have the new or even the older AP glasses in stock? I know the new ones were released last week but wondered if they lasted more than 1 day. We are coming down in another week so hoping they will be.
I bought all 4 glasses on Saturday. But they only had them at Festival center. Mouse Gears did not have the Minnie glass

I will sit down and do a review of everything we tried when I get home this weekend. 5 days of eating so I pretty much tried something in almost every booth.

@Haley R the filet at Canada was excellent. Mine was cooked medium just how I like it
Thanks for this! I was getting a little discouraged about Tim tracker’s review. I think we have too many things on our list though.

We were at food and wine Wednesday for our 10th anniversary. Didn’t eat much since we had dinner at le Cellier. Loved the cheese soup and pretzel bread (and the maple butter)

Went through ghirardelli and they gave us samples. The woman doing it didn’t seem to be very enthused about her job. When we got there we asked about samples and we got some. Hubbie asked and got a dark chocolate. Before we got there she was just hanging with the others in there. After we asked for samples she came out and started handing out samples.

We also hit splash 3 times so far this trip and 1 time someone was there and handing out the bags. Twice there was nobody there. Some things just seem to be hit or miss.

But of a long shot - I know the arts festival has many Disney artists in Jan / Feb but are there any artist during F&W (last year Rob Kaz was there but I don’t think he’s going to be there this year) and if so, where are they stationed?

I need to pick up a wristband at the event center to attend the tailgate party presentation.

Should I do that right at rope drop? Or can I hit Frozen and meet Elsa and Anna first?

Thanks!

Has anyone done the Tailgate party presentation?

Kevin-John did the art for the festival this year and does signings at the festival center.

There’s another artist, Heather French, who has a booth over by Germany. I don’t think she’s a Disney artist but has some nice pieces - mostly focused on wine and/or cats.

Larry Dotson is often at the Norway pavilion

There could be others -check at Art of Disney in Epcot or Disney Springs. Lately Disney has been announcing merchandise events for the month and the DIS has been posting so keep an eye out for that. September’s was posted on 9/4

I haven’t seen any reviews of it. You’ll have to let us know how it is. I agree that if important to you to attend, I’d stop at the Festival Center first. Have fun!

Heather is one of our favorite artists at these events. Have several of her pieces in our home and we always stop by to chat as we make our way around WS. A few years ago she did the logo for the F&W festival.

I have several pieces too. One year she did watercolors of some of the pavilions that are beautiful.

Thank you! I’ll definitely try and catch up with Larry Dotson as I actually have one of his prints (when my DD was into Frozen..sadly she says that’s for “little girls”) and pop into the festival centre for Kevin-John as not seen any of his works but looks interesting. I’m not a cat person but I’m sure my daughter would love those as she’s into animals (wants to be a vet) so sounds like there may be a few opportunities.

Annoyingly I’m in New York when Comic Con is on but it’s a first visit so we don’t have time to go to the centre (even though it’s just along from our hotel). Didn’t know it was going to be on or would have gone a few days earlier and included a day there...and there is a couple of artists I really like going to be there as well...
