Pixie Dust, or Pixie MOUNTAIN? A Grand (Roy) Disney TR *NEW TR LINK 8/11!*

@ariane37

:rockband: That reminds me of a great place to meet up Thanksgiving week. British Revolution. Just remember, Wed and Thur are thier days off.

Of course that's if royalty is still willing to meet regular folks...

:yay:

So I'm just sitting here, watching TV, and it crossed my mind....
Hey, maybe my DIS friends want to see some pictures of the

ROY DISNEY SUITE :cool1:

maybe?

OK!

HIGH ROLLERS
Arrival Day Part 3
So after we were told where we were staying for the next 4 nights, we were directed to head left. Our room was on the same level as the concierge which was one level above the lounge. In case you don't know, the 3rd floor is the lounge, and floors 3, 4, and 5 are club level.
We proceed down the hallway looking for room #4311 and eventually come to a roundish area with double doors on each side.
We realized the set of double doors to our right was OUR SUITE, and we could barely contain our excitement now that it was in front of us! I had been wondering for the last few hours why we got this upgrade; I kept thinking I'd get a phone call or text saying it was a mistake lol. But sure enough our MB's opened the door and this came into view:

IMG_8563.JPG

Holy OMG!! The living room is bigger than a regular resort room!!! Some more shots:

And here's the view from the deck out these doors:

To the right:

We stood on the patio for a bit, taking it all in. Don't worry, we'd seen the whole suite by this time! I know you guys are wanting to see it all but I don't want to overwhelm you with ALL the pictures all at once; I have tons. But let's go back and take a closer look at something neat in the living room!

TV:

IMG_8566.JPG

Wait, WHERE'S the TV you ask? It's here!

IMG_8583.JPG

IMG_8582.JPG

So neato! That's the kind of "little" thing that gets me excited! One more of the living room:

IMG_8571.JPG

I have some close-ups of the pictures on some of the walls, but basically since it's the Roy Disney Suite they were lots of old pictures of Roy and family. Also some polo/horse related pictures because he liked polo.

Guys I have so many pictures of the suite and little things in it! I'm going to kind of interweave them throughout because otherwise it will be like, 10 posts in a row full of pictures. But I'll continue this post with a couple more!

CONTINUED FROM LAST POST

Here are a couple pictures of the hallway/entryway, starting with one from standing in the living room looking towards the door:

IMG_8572.JPG

The door to the right that's dark is the half bath - the suite has 2.5 baths. If you continue to the right you have the 2nd "suite", a full bath and bedroom. If you go to the left you have the master "suite". The closed door on the left didn't open so I assume that's all the mechanics.

IMG_8561.JPG

This is the doorway into the master suite side. To the left is the bathroom with the bedroom at the end; to the right was my own personal dressing room lol

IMG_8560.JPG

IMG_8574.JPG

Close-up of the table in the entryway on the right when you opened those gorgeous double doors! Steve was in love with the umbrellas. I just kept thinking "Mary Poppins!" whenever I looked at them :goodvibes It was neat to have the table there because I dropped my purse and ears on it whenever we came in; kind of like it was my very own table in my very own home, that happened to be in Disney and get cleaned by someone else every day! Notice the polo statue.

OK I'm breaking from the suite photos for now and will do more in my next update! I honestly have tons, I have every room, little details, the artwork on walls, close-ups of toiletries. You'll get it all! And while I can't imagine a much bigger haul of pixie dust this wasn't the end; it was definitely the biggest pile of it, but we still had a little more to come! We had about an hour to take this all in and change for dinner. Between not getting back until after 6 and then oohing and ahhing over the suite, we had no time to shower - sorry Artist Point, I'm comin' at ya sweaty! We had also facetimed the boys and my mom to show them the room. Mom thought it was lovely and a wonderful surprise for us, the boys were pissed they weren't with us and asked if we could stay there for our Thanksgiving trip. Our answer was sure, if they didn't eat between now and then! Later Steve looked up pricing and what he found said it ranges from $2100-$3000 per night depending on season. Now, if that's your regular nightly resort budget, more power to you and go ahead, book this suite now! But it ain't our budget, no way. So as of now my poor, deprived boys are stuck in a 1 bedroom villa at SSR unless something better opens up with my discount!
Eventually we were ready for dinner in fresh clothes (sans shower) and somewhat reluctantly left our suite. We did the monorail to boat to WL route because I love the WL boat; and soon I was walking in to my most favorite Disney resort lobby of all:

IMG_8586.JPG

Yes that's right, despite our unbelievable upgrade and so far fantastic GF CM's (and they get better, just wait!), Wilderness Lodge is still my "home". I will tell you though that I believe GF has replaced AKL as my 2nd favorite, although had we stayed in an outer building that might not be the case. We were here for dinner at Artist Point which I originally didn't have planned. We enjoy it and I did plan on coming with the boys in November, but when I heard it would be closed and then reopening with a different menu and as a character meal, I needed to get in one more visit while it was a signature. We went to check in and were actually right on time, but holy moly was it crowded! AP is never crowded so I attribute it to die hard fans wanting to get their fill before the decent food is gone. We were given a pager, told it would be about 15-20 minutes, and proceeded back to Territory Lounge for some adult beverages:

IMG_8587.JPG

Steve got his tried and true
Moscow Mule
Russian Standard Vodka, fresh Lime Juice, and Agave Nectar topped with Ginger Beer
He discovered the Mule here in Disney early last year and it's become his new love, replacing straight up Grey Goose Vodka with 3 olives which was his old stand-by. I got a Watermelon Margarita, and I cannot find the description on the Territory Lounge menu or Allears or even on the Boma menu, which is another place I've had this. But it was good! That's salt around the rim rather than sugar because I like the sweet watermelon flavor with all that saltiness.
True to their word it was about 20 minutes before we were called in, and the restaurant was indeed packed. We were led to our table and our server Mary came over; Mary gave us some info. on the soon to be character meal which I'll share with you later although now that the opening date and menu have been released most of it doesn't matter.

UP NEXT: DINNER AT ARTIST POINT

Ok, that suite is NEXT LEVEL!! I would have been so excited by all of the space it may have overwhelmed me! :rotfl2:
The TV may be my favorite part though...even my hubby would be geeking out over how cool it is!

Holy. Moly.

The entryway to that suite is like half the size of a standard room! LOVE the tv and the old photos on the walls would probably be my favorite part. Can't wait to see more pics and thanks so much for sharing them!!

So I'm just sitting here, watching TV, and it crossed my mind....
Hey, maybe my DIS friends want to see some pictures of the

ROY DISNEY SUITE :cool1:

maybe?

OK!

::yes:: What gave you that idea?
Wow! It's beautiful! I can't imagine ever having that much Pixie Dust sprinkled on me. Did you pile up your dust on the floor and roll in it like money because I would have! Ready for more!

Between the balcony view & the hidden TV, I would have seriously considered hanging out in the suite way too much. That suite is beautiful. We normally get a BoardWalk view at BWV. I try for the corner of the BoardWalk and the courtyard. There is something magical just kicking back on the balcony.

Congrats on the gorgeous sweet suite upgrade.

Hi Ariane! I'm a little late, but nevertheless, I'm here!

What an amazing upgrade!! I am so happy for you and DH!! I can't wait to read about the rest of this trip!!

Oh @ariane37 I am just loving all the little details of the suite :goodvibes
The hidden TV is amazing and the pictures of Roy
Your view is gorgeous
I love your pic of the WL lobby especially since we are staying there over Thanksgiving. We haven't been since 1999 when we took the girls for the first time. Can't wait to see it all decked out with Christmas decorations :santa:

The suite looks lovely, nice way to start a trip! I can’t even imagine such an upgrade! AP had always been on my list for the delicious mushroom soup, weird it is not going to be on the new menu! I wonder if it will still be available at the lounge, hope so!

I noticed the umbrellas in the picture and loved it!

Oh MY Goodness! All of that space!!! The decor!!!! I love it! I'm so jealous!!!!

We keep hoping that on one of our many trips, something like this will happen to us. It doesn't have to be a suite. We will take any kind of upgrade.

My mind is blown! Even seeing the photos again, I still can't believe it. What an amazing surprise!

And I'm so glad you got to Artist Point again before the changes come into effect. Looking forward to hearing about your meals!

Wow !! I know what we are booking if we ever hit Powerball. Other than going to the pool out for meals or beverages :drinking1, you would have a hard time getting me off that balcony

The suite is gorgeous. I love the TV, too. That is very classy. The personal touches like the pictures of Roy and his family are cool, too. I love the view from t he balcony. We stayed in Big Pine Key and had a view of the Poly, which was really nice.

We also love the WL and even though we tend to stay at the BC most of the time, we still love the WL best of all. :)

We went to check in and were actually right on time, but holy moly was it crowded! AP is never crowded so I attribute it to die hard fans wanting to get their fill before the decent food is gone.
We ate at Artist Point on Saturday night and it was crowded, too. We expected it to be mostly empty, like it normally is, but it wasn't. As a result we didn't get the kind of service we are used to at AP. Our waiter was rushed and super busy. But the food was good.

::yes::

Ok, that suite is NEXT LEVEL!! I would have been so excited by all of the space it may have overwhelmed me! :rotfl2:
It WAS overwhelming! It took us a bit to not get lost lol, those first few minutes we'd be running around and yell, "where are you?" "Wait, where does this lead??" We quickly got the lay of the land and soon it became old hat. In fact if I walked in again today I'd know exactly where everything is

The TV may be my favorite part though...even my hubby would be geeking out over how cool it is!
Steve pushed the button to make it go up and down like 6x when he first figured it out  but like I said it's really the little things!
On a different note I saw your itinerary in the Nov. thread and we don't overlap at all which stinks! I was hoping to meet up, but a couple times we're like just missing each other. If we change our plans at all I'll let you know!

Holy. Moly.

The entryway to that suite is like half the size of a standard room! LOVE the tv and the old photos on the walls would probably be my favorite part. Can't wait to see more pics and thanks so much for sharing them!!
Weirdly enough the entryway was one of my favorite parts; not overly dramatic but it set the tone for the rest of the suite. The photos were awesome and I have close ups, don't worry :thumbsup2 There are 3 other suites at the GF and the one right above is the Walt Disney suite, which I assume is filled with pictures primarily of him; now I want to see those lol!

I can't imagine ever having that much Pixie Dust sprinkled on me. Did you pile up your dust on the floor and roll in it like money because I would have! Ready for more!
:rotfl:By the end of the trip we certainly felt like we could do that! It seriously took some time for it to sink in, like after we got back from dinner. But I wasted no time getting pictures on facebook, and sharing with my fellow TA's, and texting all my friends every time a little more pixie dust came our way :tinker:

Between the balcony view & the hidden TV, I would have seriously considered hanging out in the suite way too much. That suite is beautiful.
I kind of wish we'd known about it beforehand so I could have planned more resort time, or that we had a longer stay! If we were there a week or had the boys with us we definitely would have hung out more, but between the F&W fest and having the Halloween party, and meeting up with some friends here and there, we had a full schedule. But yes it was harder to leave each morning than normal!

We normally get a BoardWalk view at BWV. I try for the corner of the BoardWalk and the courtyard. There is something magical just kicking back on the balcony.
We enjoy the BW and had some great views during our stays. We also had a horrific stay back in 2015 but that's a story for another day :crazy2: and I think it's my favorite of the 3 Epcot area resorts.

Hi Ariane! I'm a little late, but nevertheless, I'm here!
:welcome: Kaitlyn, thank you so much for coming over!

What an amazing upgrade!! I am so happy for you and DH!! I can't wait to read about the rest of this trip!!
OMG it was so unbelievable and unexpected, and I believe uncommon! Thank you, it was an amazing once in a lifetime (I'm sure) experience :goodvibes

Wow just wow. What an amazing upgrade. Can’t wait to see more pics
Oh there's more lol, so many more you'll be tired of them!

Oh @ariane37 I am just loving all the little details of the suite :goodvibes
There were lots of little details that made it more special :cloud9:

I love your pic of the WL lobby especially since we are staying there over Thanksgiving. We haven't been since 1999 when we took the girls for the first time. Can't wait to see it all decked out with Christmas decorations :santa:
We've missed the WL lobby on both of our Thanksgiving trips, so next month I swear on all that is holy I'm seeing it! And while I remembered you were going I forgot that's where you're staying, so lucky! We'll have to compare plans to see when we can meet up again
