AP Pricing Concerns

DVC AP Gold, UP $21.30 per adult including ta...REALLY?:( Didn't have a choice, purchased a 4 day park hopper 60 days ago, intended to upgrade during our Oct trip. Once the news broke about the pricing structure change, I would have upgraded to the AP, but couldn't, since it has to be done in person. >:( Many "predicted" that AP would not change, well here it is!:P 4 day park hopper pass increased by $15.01 per adult, If there is a "silver" lining,:scratchin to the DVC AP Gold increase, guess at least I should be glad that I "saved" here on our 4 day hopper, 2 of us, $30.02.:goodvibes

I need to upgrade my 4 year old’s Ticket to a Gold AP in 10 days. We had an UT ticket so I couldn’t upgrade ahead of time. Basically my savings is being eaten up now when I upgrade

Currently I am only seeing the platinum and platinum plus passes for sale. We are on the fence with another trip and would need an annual pass. Does it appear the gold passes are now no longer an option? Anybody know? Or is this just my screen?
Still there. Same thing happened to me. You have to sign in again (link st bottom of page), then it will appear if you are Florida resident or DVC member. Prices went up.

Perhaps you forgot to sign in? The Gold AP is only avail to Florida residents and qualified DVC members so it won’t show if you aren’t signed into the website. It is still avail but it went up $20. It was $589 and is now $609 plus tax.

I ended up getting my platinum renewal through AAA instead of waiting until the end of the month when I could do it direct with Disney. So I got it at the old rate and saved another $30 besides. It will mean going down to one of the parks or DS to activate the renewal, but I haven't been to DS for a little while, so I will probably do it there. I am glad the AP price increases appear to be small. I imagine next year will be a big one. Has anyone noticed any changes to the terms and conditions or entitlements for the passes at the new prices?

I’m guessing there will be another AP price increase in February, since that has occurred last couple of years. So anyone buying a pass next year may get slammed with a double whammy. Wish my budget could accommodate AP vouchers now!

Glad I bought my platinum AP voucher before our upcoming trip - it went up $47.92. Last time prices went up I didn't pre-buy our APs before the date they changed, and got burned even more than that, this time I didn't do the same thing!

The pass sold to those outside of DVC/FL have not (Platinum/Platinum Plus). No idea about the others, I can't see those choices

Yes, they did but they didn't increase at the same time as tickets then, they did them in Feb INSTEAD of the fall. So I wouldn't assume that it will happen in February too. Why do you think they'll raise them twice in a year? Doesn't it stand to reason they just did them now instead of Feb?

What is the email for Disney guest relations? I’m frustrated I couldn’t upgrade my AP within my renewal window with an existing third-party ticket unless I visited a Guest Relations in person, despite a few people reporting that ticketing phone agents did do that for them. It must not be the standard protocol, but unfortunately that has cost me $40 per AP renewal because of the price increase. I’m holding out some hope maybe an email will generate some help. I’d be happy with the difference in the form of a Disney gift card even.

I believe that there have been a couple of occasions in which ticket prices rose in both October and February (not the last two years, but previously). I hope I am wrong, of course!!!

Anyone know if the renewal discount is still 15% or has that changed?
I just checked ours and the Platinum <non-resident> discount for renewal appears to be about 10% - not 15% - if I did the math correctly.

Renewal quote is $808.34 when I just logged on to MDE and checked this morning after seeing the news. Luckily we just got a place in FL so we'll be updating to resident pricing - and perhaps dropping down to GOLD since we don't go in April or December typically.
