EPCOT 2019 International Festival Of The Arts Discussion

So excited...we just booked our first ever Festival of the Arts trip last night! We're staying at the YC and our dates are 2/23-3/2, so we'll only be catching the last few dates of it though. Hoping that will be enough to be able to catch at least one Broadway concert!

I don't know when the schedule was released last year. My guess--GUESS--is that it will likely be sometime after Halloween, or even after Thanksgiving.

I'm looking forward to returning to this now that they have expanded it so much. We hit the first year of it and it was really fun, but we were only able to hit a few things. We tried a couple dishes, did the Figment scavenger hunt and took pictures with the "paintings." It was a VERY busy Epcot day, especially since it was not only our only day in Epcot, but also our last at Disney that trip, so we had to hit EVERYTHING including FutureWorld.

Was this the same time frame last year? I'm surprised that it is going on the same week that many schools are off for Winter Break (the Monday of Presidents day through that weekend). Typically when we've gone during that week off it is already busy so can't imagine what adding an event does to the Epcot crowds.

It has been announced that the Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Package, during the Festival of the Arts, reservations will be available on October 26. Does this mean that the schedule of seminars and workshops will be announced at the same time? It seems to me that in the past they were announced together.

Hooray!! That will definitely be my meal that day!! Well, assuming it's Disney on Broadway people I like who will do songs that I like (ie: NOT the "Newsies" people...I never saw the appeal of that movie OR the Broadway show). Last year Presidents' Weekend we had Ashley Brown and Josh Strickland who were AMAZING!! I would not complain if it's them again Presidents' Weekend in 2019!

I don't know when the performers will be announced, but considering that they are only going to use performers with a Disney on Broadway history and they're working around their schedules with previously booked concerts or shows that they are in, it's a fairly limited pool to pull from.

Can you clue us in on where you found the announcement? Thanks!

When will the artist list be available? Trying to plan to make sure I get to see my favorite artist.

Thanks,

Assuming the report of dining packages being available on Friday (the 26th), I would assume that they will have the list out at least by then. Of course, this is Disney we're talking about, so that assumption could be very wrong.

I'm debating getting a dining package, as it would mean forgoing my AP discount. I got one for the Candlelight Processional last year. Did you find it very helpful for the Broadway concert series? I have no experience with how crowded it will be in comparison to the Eat to the Beat or Processional events.

I was able to sit front row - I do not know how crowded it was behind me. For me it was nice knowing I had a pass in and did not have to wait in standby. I think they had wristbands for AP holders that gave you access to a different area, but I did not want to go from the FW entrance (I was on Disney transportation) all the way to American Adventure and then back to FW to do attractions there with a friend.

I have never done CP or Eat to the Beat, so I have no way to compare.

On the Disney site on the dining page under the Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Package (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_CA/dining/epcot/broadway-concert-series-dining-package/) it says you can begin making reservations on October 25. You do realize that you have to pay for these reservations since meals at the designated restaurants are one table service credit, but meals with the dining package are two table service credits. Interesting, its only showing this on the Canadian site not the American site.

Thanks. Hmmmm

I'm contemplating if to do the Concert Series dining package. We'll be there only one day, on January 18th in the afternoon and evening (no other option). Just how busy do the concerts get? Would it be possible to get seating even if we don't do the dining package? I saw the pricing, and it looks a bit steep (Coral reef $66 per adult). Is it worth it?
