I love credit cards so much!

I tried searching on this thread but the Dis search function keeps giving me an error message.

I just finished a chat with an Amex rep who said I have $9738.66 in qualified spend toward my $10K MSR on my Biz Plat (my first MR earning card). And today is, of course, my deadline.

By my calculations, I'm at $10,272 after subtracting out the AF and AMEX offer redemptions, as of 10/29. I feel confident in my number since I've run it at least 10 times. How delayed is Amex's system in reflecting qualified spend?

Do you have any pending charges that maybe haven't posted yet? I would try calling. I don't think those reps know what they're talking about most of the time. One tried to argue with me that I was $200 off yet and I told him what my number was and then he said "you're correct." My points posted.

Guys, I'm debating a stand mixer again. It's like Prime Day all over again. But better...

Kohl's, $280 but 20% off makes it $224, $237 with tax shipped to my door. I could get:
  • $60 in Kohl's cash and DH is low on good jeans
  • $11.20 in Kohl's rewards
  • Go though Shopkicks app for 6% back, ~$13.50 that I'd put towards Disney GCs
  • Stop at Kroger on the way home for a Kohl's GC for ~$235 - even at the normal 2x points that's $12.70 in free gas
  • Use Chase Pay/Samsung Pay at Kroger, plus for the last $2ish to pay (I think Kohl's counts as a dept store) - 1185 URs (worth $17.78+ with CSR)
So I pay $237... but get $115ish via different reward programs...

As a comparison, the Prime Day Deal would have come in at around $198 OOP plus $5ish in Starriott points... This price of $237 seems within $20ish of the best prices I'm seeing in my research.

Yes, I have a problem.

Thanks!! Couldn’t find that for life of me! Yeah, this must be what they meant by eligible rate.

At least we booked pre Sept 15. Next time I plan a fam trip I’ll be looking for other options though because they like breakfast & I like easy. Hilton is in the running as 2 of us have gold status...
@amalone1013 no I didn't- dangit! I rebooked the stay made via UR in the end of Sept when I saw the price slightly dropped :furious: this must have been why!

This is such a small thing, but I'm really steamed about it. Ultimately I screwed up, I wrote of the changes announced this summer thinking all WOH members would still get breakfasts- they aren't even good food! I would never pay cash for a HP breakfast! I handled the bookings for the fam and the parents are miffed (at Hyatt, not me) as well so I'm looking at alternatives in the Disney Spring area mainly out of spite so someone else gets our money... but losing that nice Hyatt Bed just because we're ticked at Hyatt doesn't sound like the wisest move...

I finally did the amex at&t offer. Paid Monday and the charged posted Tuesday. I haven't gotten an email or the 200 credit. The charge says at&t phone and and 800 number. Is there still a chance it'll work? It doesn't say business on it so I don't know if I should contact amex after a certain amount of days if it hasn't credited, suppose it's worth a shot just don't know if they do anything about it.
This is how mine posted that worked for the credit (I am also received an email as soon as it hit my AmEx)"

09/30/18 AT&T*BILLPAYMENT971 DALLAS TX 800-331-0500
$200.00

10/03/18 AT&TBDEBILLCIA1X DALLAS AT&TSmallBuOffer
-$200.00

My DirectTV/AT&T payment has a different 800#, 800-288-2020, in the information listed.

I wonder if AmEx can key off of that to determine what the payment is for.

Couple of car rental AmEx offers:

Enterprise, $20 off $200+, exp 12/15/18
Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $200+ in one or more transactions in-store at Enterprise Rent-A-Car or online at enterprise.com by 12/15/2018.

National, $20 off $150+, exp 12/15/2018
Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $150+ in one or more transactions in-store at National Car Rental or online at www.nationalcar.com by 12/15/2018.

I remember someone(s) have a thing for PF Chang's, got a $10 off $50 there - but must be single $50+ purchase:
Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $50 or more in-restaurant at P.F. Chang's by 12/31/2018.
dang, I don't have either of these on any of our cards.

Boooo. How ridiculous really. I don't know what the Hyatts around WDW run points wise, how many URs was it? Not worth transferring them to Hyatt first?

I'm thinking less nerfing and more technical difficulty for now. I'd expect it to be corrected in a few days (maybe week?) since I think this was the first expiring-> new offer that happened after the big universal referral rollout. But if it's not corrected maybe it's a sign for the SPG personal as they ramp it down. The SPG Lux not referring to Biz sounds the most like a glitch to me.
I just tried to update all my amex links and none of them were working right. All of DH's cards (incl everyday and plat) would only link to a spg biz referral. Couple of issue like that. I did get a link from the app finally. Now I can't even pull up transactions. grrr
So yes, technical difficulties going on over there.

I never did get my credit and it posted the same way as yours. I'm not going to bother trying again, because that is already 600 URs I missed out on.

Yes! When you make your reservation on CostcoTravel, there is a spot for your Fast Break number. Then before you travel, go to Budget.com and take care of the rest there. Boom...head to the lot.
I'll never understand why people are willing to wait in a line they don't have to....TSA....car rentals....WDW!
Awesome! Thank you :-)

I love my stand mixer. I actually got it from kohl's too. :) Did you check and see if sams or Costco were running specials on them? They go on sale there every so often. I think I'd wait til Black Friday info is all out, personally.

Southwest Rapid Rewards shopping portal is offering 3000 bonus points for spending $1000. I just placed a $1000 order for Giftcards.com which also offers .5/$ so should get a total of 3500 Southwest miles and 3000 UR's on the purchase. Total fees were about $18. American Airlines is also offering a bonus so I'm going to do that one next. These cards are very easy to liquidate since they have your name on them but don't do more than you could potentially float.
Curious, do you (or anyone else) have experience on when the bonus points post? I've never paid attention to these.

Boooo. How ridiculous really. I don't know what the Hyatts around WDW run points wise, how many URs was it? Not worth transferring them to Hyatt first?
This one is 12k/night. We booked each of our rooms for about 10k points via the UR portal. Starbucks is looking like a good idea for breakfast as we'll still have our car that morning. And I hate to say it but the 10k URs is still looking like the best deal so I won’t be expressing my displeasure any other way besides a comment card because I don’t want to pay more. Every dollar saved is another dollar I can give the Mouse instead right?

I have a PRG, Ameriprise Plat, BCE, and a SPG Biz. Will one of those work for self referral to a BBP?

The PRG, Plat and BCE should do it. The SPG being part of another program will only refer within it's own family of cards. The AmEx issued cards and MR cards should be part of the new universal referral program. You'll have to look at what each gets as the incentive to decide which is best to use. BCE would be cashback, the Ameriprise should be the $100 we were discussing earlier this week (American Express Expands Referral Program), PRG would be MR, I think it's 10k? but I don't have it so don't quote me on that. I'd try the Refer a Friend link for each card and see what pops up.

Yes, I have a problem.

You don't want to compare just the price but motor and capacity. Hard to know which would have been better without it.

This is how mine posted that worked for the credit (I am also received an email as soon as it hit my AmEx)"

Mine didn't have bill payment, hmm.

I won't do it again but if it doesn't post the credit before I get back I'll call or message them about it. Mom's aware it may not work but no reason not to try.
