Another amazing week :banana::banana::banana:

:cheer2: Thank you!!!

DANG GIRL!!!! Killing it. And with a super crazy schedule!!!

Thank you! I really don't know how y'all with kids do it. I struggle enough with Barkley. LOL.

Passing the time with an update until I can leave for Wine and Dine...

My mom has barely any vacation time left, so we cannot leave until she gets off this afternoon and I am getting very impatient. This will be our last Disney trip of 2018 (five total). I am unsure if we will renew our Annual Passes or not next year. I will definitely be there for Marathon weekend, but that will be another quick trip and I'd really like to do some runs outside of Disney next year.

In other news, Wine and Dine will be half marathon number 10 of 2018, only two more left!

So what happened since our last update?
10/24: Rest day!

10/25: Messed up tempo run due to rain, so I did 6 miles on the treadmill @ 9:30ish pace.

10/26: 10 miles @ 9:31 pace. (dead watch, as usual)

10/27: 8 miles @ 9:18 pace.

10/28: 15 MILES with 11 progression miles. YIKES!
Progression mile splits: 9:39, 9:29, 9:19, 9:12, 9:00, 8:48, 8:39, 8:29, 8:22, 8:08, 7:50
:cool1::cheer2::banana:

10/29: 6 miles @ 10:24 pace

10/30: 6 miles @ 9:24 pace

10/31: Rest day!

11/1:4 treadmill @ 9:46 pace

Average pace: 9:41
Average HR: 155

November marks one month away from the big show. I am excited, but nervous. November will also be my highest mileage month of this training plan.

Upcoming Training Schedule:
F: 4 miles @ EB (9:31)
Sa: Wine and Dine 10k (run at LR pace, 9:10)

Su: Wine and Dine Half (run at LR pace, 9:10)
M: 4 miles @ EA (10:12)
Tu: 6 miles @ EB & Strides
W: Rest day!

Barkley update! 10 months old and 65 pounds!

That. Progression. Run. Whoa. Awesome job!!!

And that progression of Barkley's growth. WHOAAAA.

Races outside of Disney? What's that mean? LOL. I took this whole year off from Disney races so now I am like "Run all the Disney races in 2019!!!!"

Thank you! Isn't that crazy?!? He is huge now! Almost as tall as me when he stands on his back legs.

LOL! See, you took time off from runDisney, so maybe I should too? I dunno, I think I took way too many trips to Disney this year and I am a bit worn out from it. I also have really bad FOMO and the Annual Pass has given me wayyyyy too much justification to spend all this money on race weekend. If I plan to have a kid anytime soon, I feel like I need to be an adult and control my spending. :rotfl:

Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend Recap

Whew! This was a whirlwind of a weekend. My mom and I left late Thursday after she got off of work and arrived at Pop Century around 11:30. I went to the expo late Friday afternoon to pick up everything and ended up scoring the last shoe ornament in stock. That is the only thing I ever buy, so I was extremely happy they still had one left! Saturday morning arrived super early and I headed to the bus around 3:30. The line at Pop was ridiculous and I don't think I ended up getting to the start line until around 4:00. Corrals were already open (I think) so I made a quick porta-potty stop and headed to A.
I always feel like I don't belong in these early corrals. They are all such serious runners and I feel like an impostor in my running costume. LOL

Speaking of running costumes, my theme for this weekend was my favorite Disney snacks...so the 10k was Popcorn and the Half was the Mickey Bar. I sure wish I had one of those right now.

I did not care for the 10k course at all. It was a lot of highway and very little time in the parks, but I always love running around the World Showcase in the dark. I managed to finish in 57:02 with three character stops (Pirates, Jiminy Crickett & Chip and Dale) and a stop at the Epcot ball.

I was SOOO thankful for that extra hour of sleep on Sunday, even if it did make me nervous that I was leaving way early or late for the bus. I got to the bus stop around 3:00 and arrived at the start line around 3:20. I just wandered back and forth until the corrals opened, then I watched everyone run to them like it was Black Friday. After the corrals opened, I went and stretched and used the porta-potty one last time before heading to A.

I really loved this course. Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks and Pandora is just so gorgeous at night. I finished in 2:03:02 with 9 character stops (Captain Hook, Timon, Rafiki, Chip and Dale Dinosaurs, Pluto, Penguins, Daisy, Marie and Pinocchio), one porta-potty stop and a stop at the Epcot ball.

Overall Place: 892/12469
Division Place: 83/1551
Gender Place: 329/8519

I really loved this half, so I am sure I will be back one day for it! Even though it rained off and on, the weather was pretty good all weekend. Compared to crowds over Columbus Day weekend I was much happier with the crowd levels. I am sad I didn't get to go to the meetup, but having a mom with a broken foot slowed us down this trip. I hope to meet you all at Marathon Weekend!

10 half marathons down, 2 to go for 2018!! Next Up: Soldier Half

YAY!!! Great pictures and awesome times especially with all those character stops.

And, I have to say that picture of you running in Hollywood Studios cracks me up. The three men behind you look like they are dying and there you are all bright and colorful and happy looking like this is just a total breeze. You rock!

Well done at W&D. Looks like your times + characters matches up with the plan well. Good luck with peak week this week! I see some daunting training runs, but I know you can do it! Only 32 days to go!

Thank you so much!

LOL, I noticed that too! It makes me feel like training must be working because I didn't feel like dying even though the humidity was horrendous. I am a weirdo that loves running in the rain though so that probably helped too!

Thanks, coach! YIKES I know! Sunday's looks like a doozie! I see how you snuck those T paced miles in there. :scared1:

Loovvveee all of your pictures!! So much fun!!

So excited for you as you enter the final countdown for your BIG goal!!

See you in January :)

Thank you! I am excited but super nervous! I CANNOT wait to see your pretty face in January!

I know I say this a lot but you are my running inspiration so much. You're hitting times I wish I could consistently hit without character stops and bathroom breaks! Hahaha.

Can't wait to eat some snacks with you in January!!! popcorn:::mickeybar

Awww thank you! You are so strong and I know you can do it! You are my inspiration for crushing mountains all while raising the cutest human alive! SO excited to eat all the snacks!

Y'all are the best! I am so excited to meet everyone. I have made a promise to myself not to chicken out this time!

You are a powerhouse! The picture with those three men behind you about to fall over and pass out is hilarious!

LOL! I am not sure about powerhouse, but I can tell the training is paying off! Speaking of powerhouse, you did amazing this weekend and I am so excited to see you crush those goals!

Just a little behind schedule update...

It's been a whirlwind week between marathon training, work and Wine and Dine weekend. My mom and I had so much fun on our trip and I really enjoyed the half marathon course! We are now officially less than a month out from the Kiawah Island Marathon, and this week is PEAK WEEK!

Capture5.PNG

So what has happened since our last update??
11/2: Missed run, sad day. We went to Be Our Guest for breakfast and then to Animal Kingdom and then to the expo, so the four mile easy run did not happen. We got to ride Mine Train three times before park opening though soooo :confused3

11/3: Wine and Dine 10k recap above. Spent the day in Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom.
Capture7.PNG

11/4: Wine and Dine half recap above. Spent the day in Magic Kingdom and ate all the snacks. PS. Those M&M cookies are no replacement for my Reese's Cups. PSS. The Frozen castle is my favorite.

11/5: 4 miles @ 10:24 pace once we got home, but the most important thing from Monday is the Early Morning Magic at Hollywood Studious! OMG y'all, that event is so worth it. We managed to ride Slinky Dog 7 times, Aliens 3 times and Toy Story Mania 5 times, all before park opening! Below is a picture I took comparing Early Morning Magic vs. Toy Story Land at around 3 PM. Craziness!
123BFDC2-C66F-4379-ADFD-4ABE9D3C1740.jpeg

11/6: 6 miles @ 9:24 pace.

11/7: Rest day!

11/8: Dead watch again, but I was committed to getting this progression run done. So I went super old school and ran at our local running trail that has quarter mile markers using the stopwatch on my phone. :rotfl:Somehow I made it work and got the workout done and even got this gorgeous screenshot from the Stopwatch app. LOL. Total workout was 13 miles counting the warm up and cool down that I did not track.
687D79D1-E14C-4E27-AF0A-6CE1F4BBDECB.jpeg

11/9: 6 miles @ 10:45 pace. Took these nice and easy after yesterday's workout.

Upcoming Training Schedule:
Sa: 9 miles @ EB (9:31)
Su: 3 mile WU + 8 miles @ M Tempo (8:26) + 2 miles @ T (7:54) + 1 mile @ M Tempo + 2 mile CD - 16 miles total, THIS RUN TERRIFIES ME.
M: 4 miles @ EA (10:12)
Tu: 9 miles @ EB
W: Rest day!
Th: 1 mile WU + 8 miles @ Tempo (8:26) + 1 mile CD
F: 4 miles @ EA

I'll leave you with these beauties...

3 more weeks, 3 more weeks...

This will be my chant for the next week, then I'll change it to 2 weeks, then to 1 week, then I'll have a major panic attack and it'll be race day! LOL. Let me be really honest for a minute, my runs and paces have all been good but I am really tired. I feel like I permanently look like this...especially in meetings at work!
tenor.gif

I am pushing through though and here's what happened this week!
11/10: 9 miles @ 9:23 pace

11/11: This workout scared the crap out of me. 16 miles total, with a 3 mile warm up, 8 miles @ Tempo (8:26), 2 miles @ T (7:54), 1 mile @ Tempo and 2 mile cool down. Anddddd....I did it! I didn't hit two of the paces, but that is okay.

8 tempo mile splits: 8:22, 8:22, 8:20, 8:23, 8:22, 8:20, 8:19, and 8:24
2 T paced mile splits: 7:53 and 8:01 (so close)
Final tempo mile split: 8:47 (I. AM. DEAD.)
IMG_1281.jpg

11/12: 6 miles @ 10:37 pace

11/13: 9 miles @ 9:21 pace

11/14: Rest Day.

11/15: 1 mile warm up @ 10:24, 8 miles @ Tempo (8:26 goal) and 1 mile cool down @ 10:56 with Barkley. Winter arrived for this run, and Northerners please do not laugh at me. It was 37 degrees and drizzling when I ran, but I know y'all would probably survive that in shorts. LOL.

Overall happy with this run, even though 5 of the Tempo miles weren't exactly 8:26 paced miles.
IMG_1403.jpg

11/16: 6 treadmill miles @ 10:30 pace. One of my normal running routes was flooded this week, so I stuck to the treadmill and avoided the cold.
IMG_1319.JPG

11/17: Soldier Half Marathon. Recap to come, but I finished in 1:58:27 with a 9:03 average pace (goal was 9:10 average pace).

Upcoming Training Schedule:
Su: 6 miles @ EA (10:12)
M: 4 miles @ EA
Tu: 2 mile WU + 10 miles @ Tempo (8:26) + 1 mile CD
W: Rest day!
Th: 4 miles @ EA
F: 6 miles @ EA
Sa: 9 miles @ EB (9:31) & Strides
Su: 4 miles @ LR (9:10) + 2 miles @ T (7:54) + 3 miles @ LR + 1 mile @ T + 4 miles @ LR for 14 miles total. I'm convinced I will not have legs or a brain when I finish this run, so much math. :rotfl:

Barkley sends his love to everyone!
