Short review for now because I’m exhausted. Overall, we had a great time tonight and I 100% feel the dessert party was worth the money and would do it again.
We did the party two years ago but not last year so not sure what’s the same.
We checked in for the party at 6:04 (and weren’t the first to check in). We were given lanyards and told to return to the opposite side of the Chinese Theater at 6:40 pm to meet Santa Goofy and be seated. We used that time to go take some photos with the tree and watch some of the TOT projections.
We returned to the theater at 6:30 pm and would have been first in line for Santa Goofy but didn’t realize that we weren’t going directly across from where we checked in so we were second in line. It was behind the ropes set up for the dessert party slightly more to the left. I definitely recommend checking in early and coming back to the theater early because the line for Goofy was significant before the party and there was a consistent line throughout. It was nice to be able to do the meet and greet first. If you aren’t amongst the first to check-in, there’s a time assigned to you on your table number to go up to the meet and greet.
The tables were assigned and we were told at check-in we’d be sharing with another party (coincidentally with the same last name) but we ended up being alone at the table. There were still empty tables during the party so maybe they ended up not having to combine groups.
The desserts were all good. The hot chocolate martini and Jingle Bell punch were my favorite of the alcoholic drinks. The party had a lot of people but the lines were never long at the bar or dessert stations. They came around to the table to hand out ornaments around 7:30. We left to head over to the viewing area at 7:45 before the rest of the party. The area wasn’t opened up yet but we were the 3rd group in line for it to open. They opened the area a few minutes after 7:50 and then walked everyone else in a few minutes later.
We sat at the very back of the area. There was a ledge a little taller than the rest of the stage that we sat on which was perfect for me because I’m short . Most people stayed seated in the viewing area except for some groups to the left and right. The viewing was great for the projections, not so good for the fireworks as it’s too close to really appreciate them. The viewing area was very full so I definitely recommend going over a few minutes early.
I’ll come back later with photos and more details!
