I love credit cards so much!

Mine wasn't able to go abroad and get the degrees she wants. It's all STEM related and her dept. is picky about classes taken elsewhere. Also she's premed, and none of those classes can be taken outside the US (that's from the med schools, not her college). Study abroad wasn't that important to her and she says she'd rather get the degrees she is working on, but if you son is interested in study abroad then I'd suggest making sure he picks a program that allows it. Her college has lots of kids study abroad, but many of the courses they take are more of the general-ed/distribution stuff and she had pretty much finished up with those before junior year. All the colleges we visited had study abroad programs - it's very common and pretty cool really - but a bit tougher for STEM kids. Most (but definitely not all) of the hard science kids I know did not go abroad. Math and CS are the exception.
Thanks, he currently wants to do architectural engineering so we'll see where he is in a few years.

Just checking in since I wasn’t on all day yesterday. Had a wild day at work yesterday. Multiple firings and demotions. Yaaaaay I love election season. Very glad to be on vacation now and away from the crazy! We’ll be at WDW in about 45 minutes, stopping at the character warehouse first though! I told DH we don’t have a ton of time to spend there if he wants to get to MK in time for our FP, so hopefully I can drag him out of there without our entire Disney GC drained!

Sigh... would love to do this, but I can't travel in January because of work stuff. Would be so amazing to see Lin Manuel Miranda as Hamilton.

I just bought tix to a Hamiltunes event - a giant Hamilton sing along. So nerdy, but sounds like so much fun!

Finally caught up after being behind for most of the week. I'm already pretty far along on my spend with my new CIC, so contemplating next steps. With holidays and some other year end spend coming up, its probably a good time for a new card with a hefty spend. DH would really like lounge access for a trip he has coming up (without me) plus a possible airline triple dip means I'm looking for a good Amex offer. I've had no luck with the referral/incognito trick to get a good offer, and cardmatch does not have any love for DH from Amex, but will keep trying!

Is there a FAQ somewhere for the bank funding process?

Think I found it on DOC.....looks like just need to fund it and leave it there for 6 months?
Correct. To keep it fee free you have to leave $2000 in it, or you can downgrade after 45 days and then only have to leave $500, although I haven't done that yet. My $2000 credit card funding counted as direct deposit. I opened the account on 9/14, completed 10 debits (using the self serve checkout at Walmart) by 10/2 and bonus posted 10/26.

WHAT?? I clicked onto the budget board and see the last post is by 'Ignored Member'. Curious who that was, I went to the last post and see a link that says "See content from ignored member"....okay...Clicked on it and there are two posts from @1st*toright and a note that says I am ignoring content from this member. Huh? I've never put anyone on ignore, and certainly not on this thread. How do 'un-ignore'?? And see if I am unintentionally ignoring anyone else?

Sounds easy enough! Thanks for the info might be better to be safe and just do that instead of worrying about it not posting in time.

That's ok, I'm used to being ignored :rotfl:. Oh wait, if you can't un-ignore me, you won't see this post... its very meta.

Definitely weird! I was just looking at my profile the other day too and I saw that I was following someone and like you I never tried to follow anyone. If you clink on your user name you'll see people you ignore and you should be able to un-ignore.

What would you do? I got a $15 travel credit for everyone in my travel party from JetBlue last month since our whole row of tvs were out on the airplane. I have these UR points burning a hole in my pocket that I could use to cover spring airfare one way, but I also have $45 in flight credits that will expire in a year. Hmmm

I think I am leaning towards using the travel credit and paying for the tickets on the CSR and just hoarding the UR points for something later.

Wow the Initial CC funding counts? My DD was having a hard time setting up PayPal, it said she already had an account with that email but she never has set it up before. She is swamped with school work and not wanting to figure it out so I just said Oh well, no free $$ for you. I guess she should go ahead and use the Debit card 10 times and see if it still will give her the bonus.

Is this PNC?

I don’t think the initial 2k cc funding counts as the direct deposit.
ETA: hmm I see @alryan had a different experience. This would be a great DP. I’m struggling to link my Pnc to my other accounts to move 2k in. Haven’t done my debits yet.

You all have me intrigued since we have 6 years until DS starts college. What everyone going board to study or do? Pretty sure DS will be studying something science/math oriented since he detests writing and ELA.

One of my DDs studied a semester in Budapest in a math/computer science program. The classes were in English but she also studied Hungarian. She thought the classes were too easy but she traveled around Europe a lot.

My DS who was in a computer science college program studied a summer in Japan. He was learning only Japanese language and culture in his program. Plus he came home a sushi lover (was a very picky eater before!)

So weird. I haven't intentionally ignored anyone either. Check your profile it must be fixable there.

Thanks for the tag! Been waiting on pins and needles. Unfortunately, I will be at Epcot waiting for the wine and cheese seminar to start. Disney wi-fi is very :snail:and makes me want to :badpc: I have decided to enlist the help of a fellow Hamilton fan who will come with. If she secures the tix, I will pay her back and cover the hotel. Surely something on points will be available.

Work has a way of getting in the way of all the fun. But still so necessary in order to have any fun.

Oh that sound like so much fun! I would totally do something like that if it was offered in my area.
