I had planned to figure this out all on my own but I'm overwhelmed and afraid I'm gonna mess something up. Could anyone please help me figure out what I should do? We have 8 day PHs. We love thrill rides, my kids are all older, 18, 15, and turns 13 right after we get home. We purposely got tickets for so many days so that we could definitely get everything done that we want to do and still have downtime if we want it to explore resorts and DS. But we would also love doing repeats of all of our favorites. Also, please advise on what FP I should worry about securing first. We are staying at POR.

Day 1 - MK
Day 2 - HS and MK
Day 3 - MK and AK
Day 4 - EP and MK
Day 5 - HS
Day 6 - MK and EP
Day 7 - AK and HS
Day 8 - MK

Thank you so much!

I’m assuming you’re staying onsite. If so, you should be able to get FOP in day 7. That should be what you do first. Second book your SDD (if you’re interested) for day 5. Then 7 dwarfs mine train. You mean even want to book that one twice if you can. Then I would go back and start at day one and book all three for that day and fill in each day. Take a look at the fastpass thread it will help you figure out which rides are best to get fast passes for. See which that they consider highest priority that you guys are interested and go from there.

Yes, I've read it ad nauseam.....it's just so overwhelming to me, especially since we are hopping, it makes it harder to figure out our days. Do we book the morning FP or do the evening? Can we do a combination of both and if so, would that be a smart move? UGH, I just don't know.

People have different preferences.
We like to pre-book our first 3 at our first park so we can book more FP later.

It really is a personal preference. The general recommendation is to book in the morning so you can get extra same day fastpasses after using your first 3. I mostly use that strategy starting maybe an hr after rope drop, but there are a couple of days in my trip where I know I’ll have a slow morning or a morning can fill it in with shows or something that I book night fastpasses. I did one night of night fastpasses to do mine train after dark and one to do SDD and tower of terror. I especially love tower of terror at night but that’s just a personal preference.

Look for Slinky first, than FoP. Those 2 go the fastest. Try for days later in the trip first for those 2 rides. Other than that it is pretty much personal preferance and touring style when it comes to booking FP at certain times of day.

Each park has rides that the FP is hard to get. But the opposite is also true. Decide what you really want to do first and base your FP selections off of this.
For me, we're doing 2 days in MK. So with that, I decided our first day will be spent in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. That's where I'll secure FPs. Our 2nd day will be Frontierland, Adventureland, and Liberty Square. Next set of FPs will be there. If 7DMT is easier to secure on the 4th day, then I'll swap out what lands we visit. I think doing it this way, makes travel around the MK much easier!

Grab these three first where you can:
1 - Flight of Passage
2 - Slinky Dog Dash
3 - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Everything else should be a piece of cake. :-)

Thank you all! I think I have a better understanding of how I should go about it. I knew to get SDD and FOP later in the trip but that was about all I knew for sure to do.

This is helpful! I may do it this way too, unless I can get a couple SDMT FPs then I might change it a up a bit.

I don’t tend to book FP early in the morning since the lines are not that long then and we are RD people I normally start at 11 when lines start getting longer. The exception is Epcot where I try to use the 3 as soon as possible to get another possible tier 1 FP.

I booked SDD, FOP, 7DMT then went to day 1 and did it in order after that.

At MK I did 7DMT, Splash Mountain, at BTMRR. I am planning on rope dropping Space Mountain and FL isn’t as much as a priority for me since my kids are older.

For Rpcot, I am RD FEA, then Soarin and got a FP for TT since it breaks down a lot. I got a 9 AM for LwtL, 10 for SE and 11 for TT. I am OK if I don’t make the FP times for the rides other than TT and realize it won’t save me a lot of time, but as I said above it gives me a better chance for a 4th FP for TT again, Soarin or FEA.

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

You're stressing about it far too much. You have a lot of time in the parks. As already said, there are only a very small handful of rides that are hard to get FP+ for. FOP, SDD and, well....that's about it. Pretty much everything else is no big deal. Grab the rides you WANT to go on most, and don't sweat it. If you wake up that morning and decide that you don't like what you have, just jump on MDE and modify them. For most attractions, yes, it is that easy. Read up on "refreshing" and it'll make life a lot easier and give you infinite flexibility.

Good luck!

Hello

There are only 3 popular rides you want to book right out the gate.

Flight of passage
Slinky dog dash
7dawfs mine train.

After that you can go back to sleep and book rest later, it’s really only those 3 rides.

I’d say book those aAround 9.30 and up. And go back to back.

I am going thanksgiving weekend and was able to get 7dawfs for my day2 and day3. Day5 I had SDD and day 6 was FOP.

Another tip. Get a paper and write all ur ADR, events/parade times, and resort breaks for the day so you don’t accidentally book your Fastpass during those time slots. This way you can start to build your desired Fastpass windows.

For those posting today, 11/9, the OP should have completed booking her FPs a couple of hours ago.

Although you hopefully already booked your FP+, continue to look throughout the day (and subsequent next 59 days before your trip) if you have FP+ booked for times you don't like. If you are familiar with refreshing and modifying your FP+, you will enjoy the FP+ process and be glad you learned it when you are passing people in the standby line all day.

How did it go???

I believe the OP miscalculated. Her Signature countdown shows 61 days to go! Hopefully she responds after she books her FPs. :-)

I didn't even notice! I hope she does. And the 60 days....that's more based on the month right? I'm going on June 9th. So my 60 would be right on April 9th, correct? April has 30 days, but May has 31.
