I love credit cards so much!

I also wonder if restaurants each kind of do their own thing too?? We did have two PP cards so we could legitimately get 6 in. And that is what we initially showed the server but when it came time to pay, the server said the cost was covered under one card.
Oy...so there's no hard and fast rules to this...... and I can't for the life of me find those Hh pp entitlements that were a perk from one of our cards (I can't remember which one it came with)

I struggle with my Christmas list too. I tend to like travel stuff. One gift DH got me that I use all the time is the Bungee strap to secure a bag or backpack that one doesn't want to carry to the carry on luggage. I use it all the time and DH has one too. It comes in handy for our weekend trips to WDW and our big trips.

I like to drink from a straw, including my coffee. Yeah, yeah, I"m a weirdo  I know. In my efforts to be more eco friendly and address the fact that many places don't have straws I asked for re-usable straws that I can take with me on my travels.

You're much younger than I am but for those who need reading glasses, I like these. They are perfect for traveling light.

I hate my checked luggage getting damaged or dirty. These luggage wrap onesies have kept our luggage looking new, free of damage and make it easy to identify when you are in baggage claim. Plus some of the designs are just cute and fun!

So there are a few economical items that are on my list this year and super useful to me. Perhaps they inspire you or someone else struggling with what they want this year.
Thank you for such a fun and detailed response!

My Dsis uses them exclusively, and they're pretty amazing! she has some brands she likes, they're so cute! and pretty easy to clean etc too. If I had seen these when mine were babies I would have gone for it. In her case she got lucky and friends invested in them, didn't like it and gave them all to her($100's of dollars value!)
Wow that’s awesome! I’m all about recycling and being green so I’m pretty sure I will invest in cloth diapers when the time comes. Seems like a waste to constantly throw out something that can’t be recycled. It’ll be expensive, fill up our trash can quickly, and fill all of the landfills.

Did everyone see that Sephora is 3% cash back on Dosh now? Stack with 9x MR on Amex.

I think Ebates is 8% in store for Sephora right now.

I just noticed that Sephora is also 8% back through Uber Visa Local. I'll have to check my AmEx cards to see if I have 9x MR offer.

ETA: I also just got an email with a $15 of $75 purchase -- I think the universe is telling me I need to go to Sephora . . .

That price seems low, which makes me wonder if it'll hold up well? I have the eBags ones. Sometimes I stuff them really full and feel like I'm abusing the zipper, but they've held up over 10+ years.

Completely agree. @Haley R i know the ebags brand is a little more expensive but they are worth the higher cost. I have found that out the hard way. Other brands do not last as well.

I know not many of us use the Disney Visa here, but I have a question about using the Disney Visa on ShopDisney that hopefully someone can answer. I've recently used my Disney Visa on two online purchases from the website. The first was merchandise and gift cards, and the second was just merchandise. The first purchase ended up being split into two different charges, which I assume was because of the gift cards. For some reason, on both purchases, the total amount charged to my credit card was slightly less than the amount listed on my purchase confirmation. I didn't use the Disney Visa promo code for either purchase because there were better sale codes online than the 10% code. Is there some sort of automatic discount on using a Disney Visa that I don't know about?

Just the 10% code with the $50 purchase. Sometimes Disney will take an item off the order or substitute and that can change price too. They are pretty random.

Speaking of Disney free shipping site wide today only.

When our dd was born many, many years ago we were gifted a diaper service for the first 6-8 weeks. This was an incredible gift, allowing me to get used to being a mom while being semi eco-friendly at the same time.

These are great suggestions -- I love seeing other people's travel gear.

A few other things I'd suggest are luggage straps so you can differentiate your black suitcase from all the others at baggage claim, noise-cancelling headphones, and a backup power source for phones/tablets.

I need to catch up after traveling this week!

We flew PHL-DEN on Southwest--tickets were $67 one way so that was pretty cool, especially since the CSR travel credit paid for them :) I snagged a $87 rate through Costco for a Wed-Sat full-sized Alamo rental, which turned out to be a new Nissan Maxima, and used my CSR to pay. We stayed at the Hyatt House near DEN which was quite nice (category 2, but we paid cash using dh's new WoH card) We were upgraded from a king studio to a king 1 bedroom. I'd only stayed at a Hyatt Place before so I was pleasantly surprised by the made-to-order omelets at breakfast. We stayed 2 nights at the Colorado Springs Hyatt Place (also a category 2) which was convenient for visiting my ill family member and for hiking/restaurant exploring when they needed to rest. We ate the breakfast the first morning but enjoyed a carb-laden brunch at Denver Biscuit Company the next day. I had checked dh's cards for Chase offers the morning before we left and discovered a WoH 20% offer (up to $51 max) :woohoo:

Good thing I used the CSR for the car rental because dh hit a curb on a very poorly lit street in Colorado Springs and damaged the low bumper  We returned the car earlier than planned in case the paperwork took a while---it only took an extra 5 minutes or so lol. Precheck had literally no one waiting in line. We were like 2.5 hours early for our flight once we were in the terminal! Timberline was a great way to break in my new PP :thumbsup2 Dh was curious how many other airports have lounges or participating restaurants

On the flight home I applied for the 50K SW Priority and was instantly approved :dance3: I could only see the 40+20K offer using the wifi so was pretty bummed and resigned myself to applying for the Biz on Monday and deciding what to do about a Personal later on. But then I clicked the TV button to see what was available to watch for free and the 50K offer popped up!

@Haley R I have 4 kiddos and I cloth diapered the last two. If you plan to stay home with your babies, I really recommend it. We saved a bundle over disposable dipes and I really loved putting cloth on my baby's bums!

Right now I’m pretty sure I will be home with our kids. Don’t the cloth diapers get really nasty? Did you have to wash them a ton?

Not at all! I had a sprayer that attached to the toilet water. I sprayed 'solids' into the potty and threw the dipe into the pail with the others. There are soaps that are best for washing with. Couple of washes (though one is usually fine) and a good drying. You will be good to go! I tended to stay on top of washing, like once a day...but that is just me. I don't like laundry building up even now that I have no one in dipes :)

LOL Same here. CD'd my last two. Is it sad that I look forward to grandbabies so I can CD them?! There are so many cute cloth dipes these days, probably even more now than when I stopped. You can meet MSR investing in dipes ;)

I saved all mine!!! Is that crazy?!? I figured that they won't go bad and yes, they are so cute :D I didn't spend a fortune, like I know you really can, but just enough to be good. I actually used disposables at night (after one too many nights of baby would have slept through the night if the cloth dipe hadn't leaked...). I cannot wait to use cloth on my grandbabies :D

I was so excited about my first grand baby I went and bought quite a nice assortment of cloth diapers. I would say I got a little carried away. Fun styles
https://softbums.com/, I got a few yards of bamboo velour fabric and my best friend made liners and washcloths. This grandma was all set....
DD had no interest in cloth, imagine that. My friend’s son and his wife used them for both of their daughters. They were well loved and now they are just put away.

I only kept a few custom pockets. Part of my switch to cloth was because my son was a heavy night wetter so I was able to stuff a pocket dipe just right and use a wool cover to prevent leaks, finally a dry bed.

I did cloth for my three. I washed them every 2-3 days. No problems. It saved us so much on diapers. Yes I spent 20-35 on each but with using them multiple times it still outweighed disposable. Plus it’s better for the environment. I do clothes laundry every 3-4 weeks. I just spend a day doing it. They are really easy to use and can help meet a spend on a cc when the time is ready for you. So many choices now and styles

My people!

I used cloth for all 3 of my kids :) With oldest, my parents gifted us a 6 month diaper service. After that I used prefolds and some of the very first all-in-ones when he was older. The older two kids overlapped in diapers for 18 months so I did a LOT of diaper laundry! I bought all new diapers once youngest came around and went a little crazy over all the fabric options and prints :D

DH says I'm nuts but I don't like to leave a messy house.

I totally get this and my family thinks I'm nuts for it too. I've been known to literally vacuum us out of the house!

Nothing is more depressing than coming home to a mess! I make sure everything is clean before we leave. Once when I was 14 or 16, we left for a 3 week vacation (we lived across the country from all our relatives) and my mom left a half-full cup of coffee with cream in the master bathroom :crazy2:

so if therre's 4 of us, and we try a PP retsaurant, can we order 3 entrees and share? (If I only had one PP card)

I think it depends on the restaurant. I know someone else had a restaurant where there were 4 people who ordered 2 entrees and they only charged them for 2 people. I had a restaurant where we had 4 people, ordered 2 entrees, and she insisted that they had to charge me for 4 people. In hindsight, we should have had them charge my DH for his diet coke on a separate bill and then 3 on my PP.

I did cloth for a few years. My MIL was never into it so she bought her own disposables for the days she watched him. Then daycare said they wouldn't use them anymore so I only had him in them overnight and on weekends. I stopped completely when he outgrew his one size pockets I used overnight. I still have them all because I'm not sure what to do with them now! I have to say that I still have the sprayer on his toilet and it is great when he has a poop accident now. Wish I had some cloth type pull-ups to use at night. Stuck buying some at Target whenever they have a gift card deal now.

Sams club online is coding merchandise on Discover?

It is but it looks like it's still counting as 5%. If I search for warehouse transactions I'm short by a couple bucks - I think it's 1492 something - but if I look at the calendar, the progress bar shows I maxed out the $75. I haven't bought anything at Amazon so I think it counts.
