I love credit cards so much!

So um... since @disneymagicgirl has had several photos of herself (including the current one with her DCP-bound DD19) in her avatar, what will you do if you recognize her or her DD around the parks?
I only have eyes for Josh from EasyWDW in the parks. I'm looking for him constantly and look right past all the others, haha! I mean, I guess I'd say hi if I truly recognized somebody in the parks - I wouldn't be a jerk :) (I save all my jerk activities for r/churning :P).

Ok so I am about 5 days behind on this thread but while I'm catching up I'm in need some new card advice.

P2 is 3/24 opened a CIP around 7/26 and CSR around 10/16. Is she good to go for the CIC or should we wait? Also, I'm seeing a lot less (positive) talk here about UR's these days. Should we start diversifying our point currency?
Most of the frustration with URs is the change with Disney. If you are planning to transfer URs to Southwest, Hyatt, etc OR if you are planning to use them through the portal for something non-Disney then it's still a fantastic currency.

On the CIC...if you are feeling good you could go for it now. If you're the type of person that likes to play the game safe, you'd wait until January. Worst that could happen now is a denial and you'd have to wait 30 days to try again (and you'd have an inquiry on your report). That one is really a personal decision (if it were me...I'd wait but don't do it just for that reason)

I've probably met about 50-60 people through Disney internet boards, starting with the old AOL boards back in the 90ties. Mostly females but a few males. Many of us became long time friends and I keep up with some of them. Some of our kids have become friends as they've grown up going to Disney!

Disney was the shared interest and it led to lots of meet ups, mostly over the food and wine festival. Personally I've only joined up in group situations, not one on one. I've had a lot of fun, and have enjoyed group dinners at many of the Disney restaurants. Once about 30 of us met for dinner at Boma. I used Simba's Cub house for my daughter that night and I'm not sure who had more fun, myself or my daughter as she absolutely loved it.

Of course, with any internet meet up, its important to be extremely careful, but for the most part, many of us are fairly normal.
I’ve met lots of internet friends over the years too! I think it’s really fun to Meet online friends. I got the opportunity to meet @Albort this past summer. He had a friend to join for dinner; otherwise, I would have asked him to join us for a meal. However, my dh and kids were there. I would not meet up with a male by myself. My dh and I have rules around that kind of thing. I’ve met many female online friends by myself or with the kids. Most were homeschool moms like me. Someday, I do hope to meet other DISers, especially from this thread!!

I can definitely wait til January. I'm just hooked on having an MSR lately so I don't feel like I'm "wasting" any money we spend lol.

ETA: And yeah, I totally get the Disney disappointment. Total bummer. We can still use points on other stuff though.

Please remind me to unmute TPG tomorrow so I can roll my eyes and ignore most of his tweets. I can't handle all of the tweets from their lame awards thing tonight. Who even cares, they don't mean anything.

I couldn’t care less about TPG’s “awards” and I couldn’t imagine any airline or hotel cares either, and yet Hilton apparently does because they sent me an email back in October asking for my votes.

Gosh I hope Hilton wins EVERYTHING! If I had to pick a program to deval more, that’s the one! (Please leave Hyatt alone, please leave Hyatt alone, please leave Hyatt alone....)

I’m a little over-cautious about this stuff after reading all the Chase shutdown stuff. Plus with all the rules out there now, taking a slightly slower approach is not a bad thing to keep you in the game for the long haul.

When was your most recent card? I see you were purely talking about P2 there.

Imho you’re good to go with the CSR. There are no guarantees in life but it’s been a long time since we’ve had a shutdown report. Diversify if you see a need, what would you do with other currencies?

ETA: CIC, sorry! If P2 hasn’t opened any other Chase Biz besides that CIP I’d still go ahead and apply.

They’re going for a CIC this time (the CSR was about 6 weeks ago). That’s why I was being slightly cautious - because those biz card approvals can be a little harder.

I’ve usually waited 3 months between Chase applications...but last month applied and was approved with 6 weeks in between...totally up to you...I also lower the limits on my other Chase cards before applying...but I’m very cautious

As far as URs..to me it depends on your travel plans..I’ve been collecting URs since I can transfer to SW, book hotels etc with with them....I haven’t been able to figure out how to us MRs yet...but they may work with your plans

I still like UR's best, even with Disney kicked out (for now, I pray!). I have about 280k MR's with no plans for, other than to cash out through the Schwab account eventually. It may not be the greatest use, and I'm sure my planned usage makes some people cringe, but for our family, I think it's best. So, when I need to sit out between Chase apps, I will just keep trying to add to my MR's stash.

Yeah. I'm definitely good with taking it slow and don't need to be risky. Still trying to figure all of this timing out. As for me, I just got the SW Biz and SW Plus cards over the last couple of months and I'm thinking of hitting my MSRs after the December statement hits. We have a trip coming up in March and I would love to have 2 CPs for the 4 of us.

ETA: How risky is not waiting until January to hit the MSR's? I want to give enough time for those points to post before our March trip but wouldn't want to put our 2 year CP in jeopardy.

Not sure what we'd do with other types of points. Still learning about all of the possibilities.

Yeah. We don't really have much in the way of plans so we will probably stick with URs for now anyway.

My Amex Plat came today. Applied Saturday night. I’m enrolled in the Saks credit and airline credit. I think I’m selling the airline giftcards tho. For Saks I’ll try and pick out something for around $50. Most of my clothes I received as gifts and I still have a lot from HS lol. I’m also trying to clean out my closet. Maybe I’ll just get something useful like underwear lol

Paging @Calfan, @jhoannam, @elgerber, @snugglebug, @schmass, and all other Amazon Prime viewers -- THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL SEASON 2 IS OUT! :happytv:

@elgerber - I'm so sorry for your crummy two weeks. Nothing like bingeing The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to uplift you just a little. Hope things get better!
I thought it came out tomorrow?? My dd works every night this week so we can’t watch any till Saturday, eek!!!

I am so jealous of all the 10k for pay over time offers you are all pulling up. The credit card world is against me lately LOL
