DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

My Dad passed away earlier today. He passed without pain and peacfullly which is based on the circumstances is a good thing. I am grateful that I was able to say goodbye to him in person this past weekend. Thoughts, prayers and pixie dust appreciated for my younger siblings as they will be without a Dad to see them graduate college, walk them down the aisle or any other life milestones. Thanks guys and again sorry for bringing a bit of downer here especially at this time of year.

Like I say before Mike, if you need to talk give me a shout. Praying for peace.

oh ya, 25th Wedding Anniversary today. Have a good one gents!
Happy belated anniversary Mike. I hope you were able to enjoy the day, given your circumstances with your Dad's passing.
Wishing you the best.

It was lightly snowing here, so it looked like the Star Wars jump to hyperspeed.
That's the only cool thing about snow.
We are in for our first major dump of the season Thursday night/Friday morning with up to 30 cm/12 in
I'm crossing my fingers the office closes.
At least it's Friday.

Morning all...
Another early work day here.
At least that also means that I should get out of here early as well.
Should have enough daylight left to get outside and mulch up some of the leaves at least.

Very sorry to hear this and not the best day for such. But is any day ever good?
We've been dealing with this as well since my MIL passed a few weeks ago.
Good that the suffering was minimal, bad that his presence will be only in memories.
My condolences for the great loss to you and yours.

Morning hope everyone is well, I rarely get to say can't wait for the weekend since my day off is usually on Tues., But this week I Can't Wait Till The Weekend, 3 more sleeps till WDW:cool1::earseek::dancer::woohoo:.
Not to wish our lives away, but may the time pass quickly for you.
Have fun storming the castle.

My prayers are with you and your family Mike.

Don't apologize. Pretty sure part of our job/role/responsibilities/priviledge/whatever here is to be here for each other through the good and the bad times.

Either there's a large gap between you and siblings or you and DW got married when you were two (or both). Not to lessen your loss, but I'm sorry they won't get some of those joys.

Fun morning so far. I forgot my wallet so I had to go back home so I could pay for parking. My meeting with our Premier was 10 minutes late starting and 5 minutes in his assistant comes running into the office saying we have to evacuate there is a gas leak. Fun times!

On top of that, it is flipping freezing again!

See ya in a few days Ron.
Looking forward to it.
It will be a bit chilly in the mornings, but fantastic during the day

.

That's the only cool thing about snow.

I respectfully disagree...there is nothing cool about snow except not having any.
Loved it as a kid...quite the opposite now.

More power to those of you that enjoy it or have to deal with it. I like my water in liquid form. Gaseous is okay, but not a solid...Okay fine, in iced tea it's acceptable. :lmao:

It's certainly an eventful morning for you.
Sounds like your government is as efficient as ours.

You know what today is!!!!! Wednesday. Just Wednesday. After 23 years of marriage I don't expect it to be any different, and I'm still on the green side of the sod and have eaten more cookies than I should so I can't complain.

Somewhat positive news is that my mom is able to be up and walk a bit with a cane. Not so positive is that the nursing home doesn't want to send her home yet as the orthopedic doctor isn't seeing enough evidence of healing in her pelvis or wrist. Not sure what the plans will be. Dad is driving my brother nuts and surprisingly getting along with my sister-in-law. Unfortunately my brother is out of vacation time and can't use sick leave for family. He will either have to take unpaid leave which means no medical coverage, or leave dad home alone either in my brother's house or back at my parents' house. I have time but can't take it as I have 3 meetings next week I can't miss as I am the presenter. I could have dad come here but the 10 hour trip would be too hard on him to do in a day, he would be too far to visit mom, and he has only been here once 8 years ago and would be even more confused than he is now. Sometimes no decision is the best option.

Cold with more snow here today. I'm ready for summer.

Apparently, we had a "snow squal". I never heard of that before. I guess it's global warming.

Just how much money have those APs saved you? :lmao:

Well, at least the meeting was short.

The good news is that we finally have a functioning government. Only took a couple of months after the election.

We still don't have one down here.

There isn't a good option there with your dad. Continued prayers for your parents and your family.

Looking forward to see you again Doc, Now since Doc is now the Dis Dad Orlando area Ambassador, I will have to show him when the timing is right in the parks cards I'm not showing ( I would show any Dis Dad I just don't post some things cause if everyone on the board knows about it then it takes away the surprise effect or they stop doing it.:thumbsup2) .

This is hard to answer Norm, This year after this next trip we did 6 trips and spent 32 park days at WDW, plus the discounts on rooms , 20% discounts on merchandise and 10 % on some food, and at this moment 2090 photos , :scratchin I'm thinking I am on the ahead side of the game :confused3:cool1:, I'm not sure how I would even begin to calculate the savings:confused3
