Has this thread been started yet? Right now we have a reservation with Alamo for approximately $400 for 8 days in March. We go every year in March and this board always helps to get costs down with advice and codes/etc! Maybe started somewhere else already?

We are going the first full week of March (Sat. to Sat.) and prices have been ridiculous. We have 5 people going to VB and WDW, so we will have quite a bit of luggage.

So far my best deals have been Alamo through Costco. I have several reservations hoping to find a large SUV or Minivan in Standard/Full Size Aisle. Right now my cheapest Standard car is $298.31 for the week and a minivan for $392.76.

I'm with you! I have 6 people going, including a 7 month old and a 4 year old, so we have 2 strollers, 2 car seats, and a ton of luggage. I am currently at $700 for a dodge durango or similar.

THANKS FOR THE TIP ON COSTCO TRAVEL! Just got the price down to $624 for a premium SUV (previously i was at $688).

I ALWAYS use Costco and I stalk all the sites, never to find lower than them. So far our dates for March are super high. Will keep checking as always! With Costco you can cancel and rebook at any time price changes.

I would hate for Costco to review my cancellation history :guilty:. I have been known to rebook for $0.06. (In my defense I thought it was a $1, but it was just a rounding difference between $x.52 and $x.46).

My Alamo reservation dropped by about $75 from $355 to $275. My dates are the 27th-1st.

My reservation just went down on Alamo through Costco from $624 to $542 yesterday and now $506 today! My in-laws think I'm crazy every time I tell them i rebooked the car, but I'm a happy girl right now! When I started, the prices were $800-$900!

I have even cheaper rates today through Costco. The minivan dropped another $41, but it switches from Alamo to Budget. I do prefer Alamo and my ability to pick a car. The fullsize SUV is also $30 cheaper with Costco/Budget. I will keep checking daily and hope that Alamo comes down to match them.

Unfortunately, I'm not a Costco member and I'm finding everything to be around $400 for our week. We've never paid this much.

Major drop for us this am. Mar 14-28 with alamo (through Costco) is 521. We originally started at over 700 so I am glad to see things starting to drop. We are used to getting an suv for around 450-425 so we shall see what we end up with

woo hoo...just saved tons on my Costco Alamo rental for before and after our cruise...pre-cruise rental went from $406.10 to $292.36 and the post cruise rental went from $399.88 to $195.58. Savings of $318.04....Now deciding if I should rent a mini van instead of the intermediate SUV...because even a mini van is less than our original rentals but more than the intermediate SUV...just concerned because I had reserved an intermediate SUV in California and ended up with a Chevy Malibu which I hated but it was just for a day...

Thanks for the heads up everyone! Just checked my Alamo rental (through Costco) too and was able to save almost $100. You guys rock!!

Another drop this am, yay! Down to 488 for the intermediate suv.

I was able to score the suv with Costco and through alamo (we did both cuz there are advantages to both so debating on them). We have only ever gone to the counter and never done the early check in and bypass the counter. How does that work? How do we add on another driver?

Check in on line. Make sure your info (drivers license and credit card info) is in the reservation and check the "skip the counter" box. At this time you can add the extra driver. You will need to enter their drivers license number. Print out your check in info and bring it with you. After getting your luggage, go directly to the Alamo garage. Find the aisle for the type of car you booked. Choose the car you want and drive out. When exiting, you will need to show your license, credit card, check in document and extra drivers license. They scan it and you are on your way.
