Say Please in French - A June and Sept. 2018 DLP TR *Updated 4/22

During the run weekend we didn't have time to see it and the two trips after it wasn't showing, I miss the show!!
After the first go of the show, it made sense they wanted to see how it was received and the contracts ended at a certain time, but I have no idea why it's still like that, they know it's popular now, just keep it going all year round

You know, now that you mention it, I do remember seeing that it was closed that day of the 10K. I didn't pay much attention, because I knew we weren't going to watch it, but yeah, it was closed...

You're right, it seems to be a really popular show, I don't know why it closes. Before you pointed that out, I didn't even think it was, because it's so well liked.

In the summer it was Mickey and the Magician, the car stunt show, and the Marvel show. They have the passes at the GS locations in each park, so it's best to go to the one at Disneyland, since it opens over 30 minutes before the one at the Studios!

Thanks, Lesley. I figured if anyone could answer that question, it'd be you!

This is so sweet! How nice that Landon was able to enjoy time with such a great friend on your trip—Disney, bringing people together! :goodvibes

It was such a unique and fun experience. Hopefully over the years, he'll get to meet more fellow DISboard kids. There's gonna be a subforum here one day... Kids of DIS TRers. :rotfl2:

Funny how Disney will do that for you! :goodvibes I've been loving your stories and reviews from Disneyland Paris!

Thanks! It's been fun writing about a different Disney park and sharing its features with people who might be unfamiliar with the parks.

You have a great memory! Yes we’re hoping for 2020 but if a trip to DLP pops up I’ll be sure to let you know :goodvibes
Do you intend visiting Northern Ireland when living in the Uk? We have Giant’s causeway! Game of Thrones is filmed here so lots of tours related to that and of course the Titanic was built here ( my boys often point out that we shouldn’t be so proud of this given that she sank:rotfl:). I could list more attractions but I’m starting to sound like a salesperson so I won’t lol. Just saying if you do happen to travel this way there’s lots to see and I’m here too!:rotfl::thumbsup2

We definitely plan to visit Northern Ireland while we're in England!
Our trip to Kerry was one of Alex's favorites, and he can't wait to get back to Ireland.
When we do, I will be sure to get in touch with you so you can help me plan!:rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously so funny the name they wrote on the cup! Like not even close :rotfl:

When my family went to Europe last year I didn't even bother bringing up going to DLP because we just didn't think we'd have the time and I had heard less than great things about it. But we ended up squeezing it in during an afternoon and we all loved it! I seriously can't wait to go back someday. I feel like maybe once they finish their expansions in 2021 I'll try to go back! Its so awesome that you are so close and can go! I really loved that they took US military discounts there too, that was a total shock (and a welcome surprise!)!

Disneyland Paris is definitely worth a visit for any Disney fan. It has great details and unique-to-that-park attractions. Plus, how can any steampunk fan not love a Jules Verne themed land?!

You have some very excellent points there! sigh.... someday.

Alex and I are so excited to stay overseas and continue our adventures. We can only hope the places we take the kids to and various cultures they are learning about shapes them into kind and and spirited adults.

I have no doubt that it will.

I think they are putting a lot of TLC into the parks now, and I think it's going to be great once all the work is done.
Also, I didn't know you guys were military. That's awesome. We actually always book a package, because it's the easiest way to stay on property, but most of our friends use the military tickets and it's a great deal!

If nothing else, the overseas parks give you something to keep on your Disney bucket list, something to strive to see at some point.

I was way behind, but now I'm all caught up!

First, so happy that you'll be in the UK! My DH told me on Christmas Eve that his boss is really going to try and line up his next big trip when I have a school break, so I can go, too! (He goes again in January, but only a M-F)

Next- it's so great seeing your kids interact with Izzy! We are so lucky that they live in our state, and have met up a few times! Dugette is so great, Dug is fun, and my kids just love Izzy!

Lastly- I love hearing so much about DLParis! Someday!!! Oh- one last thing- how do your pronounce Evie? Ev-vie or Long E, Vee? I know girls who do each way!

My brother is air force :) so not DH and myself but my brother was with us when we went to DLP so it worked out well, I think the limit was 6 people with his ID but even for that we were grateful! We were really shocked when they even asked if any of us were military because we just didnt even think it would matter. Very cool that they recognize it too!

Oh, I really hope that works out for you! It would be awesome if you could tag along on one of his work trips. Any particular place you'd hope he got sent to?

I actually have a sister in-law who lives in Minnesota, and when I mentioned we're overdue for a visit to her house, Dugette mentioned how you live there, too. We talked about having a meet up! However, as of right now, it might just be Alex and me going there. But even if it is, we should definitely try to get together!

Haha, we pronounce it with the long E, Vee.

How awesome! (Alex is Air Force too.) Glad he was able to get those tickets. To be honest, there's a lot of military people who go to the Paris parks and if the Cast Members hear you speak English, they just assume. :rotfl2:

Happy New Year, DISers!

As evidenced by my absence on the boards, the holidays were a busy time for my family. My mother in-law flew over to visit us for the month of December and spend Christmas with the kids. This was the first Christmas without my father in-law, so while it was bittersweet for everyone, we kept busy by visiting our favorite Christmas markets and continuing time honored holiday traditions.
Nothing helps the heal the heart better than a warm cup of gluhwein (with a shot of rum, in my case) and fresh baked sugar cookies.

After Christmas, all Alex's siblings (three of them plus a brother in-law) came over and together with his mom, we went to Bern, Switzerland to celebrate her birthday.

We weren't in the mountainous area of Switzerland, but Alex and I found a spot in the city that gave us an incredible view of the Alps in the distance:

Without question, one of the better views I've experienced while living in Europe.

And now the extended family is off traveling to various local hotspots with check-ins here and there, Landon is back at school, and I'm enduring the cold winter by planning Disney trips in 2019. ::yes::

Alex gave me this incredible medal rack for Christmas:
IMG_9002.JPG

Seriously, how cool is that thing?! One of my favorite Disney touches that's been added to my house...

The rack can hold over 30 medals, which is pretty ambitious of my husband. Apparently, he thinks I've got a lot more miles in these legs of mine. :rotfl:

Feeling the pressure, Alex informed me that if we were going to return to Disneyland Paris for race weekend 2019, we needed to make a decision before Tier 1 pricing went away on December 31st.
Nothing gets me motivated more than wanting to save a buck, so without much thought, I agreed to sign us up for another round of races.

:confused3

Despite not knowing what house we'll be in next summer, who can watch our pup, what our lives will look like by next fall, we went ahead and booked a Disney trip. I mean, what's a little more uncertainty when we're talking about a year of change?

Next September, Alex and I will be spending 4 nights at Sequoia Lodge, with the kids running the kid races, Alex running the 5K and 10K, and me running the half marathon again.
Good golly, isn't that the definition of insanity? Doing something brutal and time consuming and painful over and over again expecting it to be easier or different the next time around? :rotfl2:

Ultimately, the main reason we committed to the races was because we have good friends that will be participating next year. They were on our last trip and did some of the races, and this will be their last time going to Disneyland Paris. If we have any hope of reliving our Disney adventures, this was our only chance.

So basically, I am willing to put myself through months of training in order to see my friend again. :rotfl::rotfl: Priorities, right?

And here in the next week or so, Alex and I should be booking our rooms and tickets for our summer trip to Walt Disney World. (!!!) Once that's done, I'll be able to start planning and scheming. So much has changed since our last official trip that I'm a little overwhelmed by the possibilities. I will have to dust off my handy dandy trip planning skills and get those rusty gears moving again. Challenge accepted! :goodvibes

Happy New Year!
I’m excited to hear all about your adventures and plans for the year ahead :)
Sounds like Christmas was just what you all needed- family time reconnecting and reminiscing :)

Happy New Year! I'm glad you had a nice holiday season with family :) What a beautiful view in Bern!

Yay for Disney planning!! Lots of exciting times ahead :)

Wow that's so cool! I love all the park details in the metal work. It does kind of seem like you've be challenged to try to fill it :P

Glad you had a good holiday season with your family!

Happy New Year! Just booked our summer trip to WDW!

Two parks this year for us, WDW I can plan Disneyland Paris I’m lost I’ll plan your WDW if you plan my DLP?

Happy new year! I feel like sometimes you need to just book and take a leap of faith it will all work out and Im sure it will!

Disney released their free dining for the summer so hopefully you can take advantage of that during your trip!

The view in Bern was pretty incredible; talk about a holiday memory!

I have so much Disney planning ahead of me! It's been years since I've gone on a long trip, hopefully I can remember all the tips!
(And I was serious about my character inquiry a couple weeks ago. I'll totally be asking you where certain characters are!:rotfl:)

Glad you had a good holiday season with your family!

I had heard about the company that makes the medal racks from other Disney fans who ran the DLP half marathon, and I just thought it was the coolest way to display the race memorabilia. For the past 7 years, my EE 5K medals had been taking up space on my dresser, now they have spot I can see and admire them.

Hahaha! In that scenario I would come out way ahead. Disneyland Paris is a breeze to figure out compared to WDW.

Very true. I just need to commit us to these trips!

We actually stay at Shades of Green so free dining isn't applicable to us, but I was really surprised to see it so early!

Gorgeous!

Sounds about right!

Seeing the Alps was one of the highlights of my holiday season.

So glad to hear you had a wonderful Christmas season with family.

This is a spectacular picture of the two of you!

What a thoughtful and useful Christmas gift. I'm sure this will help motivate you to fill it up!

Yay for 2019 being a year of change- excitement- Disney planning!
