*** January 2019 Thread ***

We’ve had a few days of non park days before the real fun begins. We’ve had a lot of fun so far and it’s been great to take time and relax before heading to the parks. My son and daughter got made over at bippity boppity boutique which my daughter absolutely loved. She had people bowing to her after her makeover. Unfortunately her fine toddler hair didn’t stay up a long time so by the time we ate at 1900 park fare it was looking kind of meh. My son loved the food at 1900 park fare. It was a great experience! Yesterday I made a mistake and thought our cape May reservation was then but it was actually today. Still cape May handled it very well and we got in less than a few minutes after we arrived. This breakfast was SO GOOD and we saw the characters several times. We also went to medieval times for dinner and my kids both loved the show! The fighting was spectacular and it was a great experience. My husband got knighted and my daughter decided she wanted to get knoghted as well so she started running on stage. We called her back but she was invited up and was knighted and confirmed as the prettiest princess in the land. It was so cute! She had so much fun she passed out as soon as she laid down.

The weather has been good, mornings and nights are chilly but during the day it’s not to hot/not to cold. Low 70s/higher 60s. I’m someone who is always cold so I’m getting by wearing pants and a shirt.

My parents fly in today so we’re excited for the big reveal to my kids. Tomorrow is also an exciting day as we go to Magic Kingdom! My son and daughter have caught glimpses of the castle and they are excited. :D

We leave 2 weeks from today! I'm swamped with work, got our Xmas trees down but all the decorations are still out, and just about every piece of clothing we all own is in the laundry lol. I WANT to start panicking but this always happens to me, and I always come out ok :thumbsup2 DH and I narrowed down where else we think we want to eat in addition to Citricos which is the only ADR we have, we just really prefer not having plans set in stone when the kids aren't with us. Trying Morimoto for the first time and possibly Sanaa again but that one is still up in the air :)

Morimoto ribs are amazing, highly recommend!! And don’t worry I leave in the morning and still have a load of laundry to do before packing.

Can’t belive I will be there tomorrow! The ‘Ohana drama of yesterday was a nice distraction. The only meal my vegetarian daughter requested because she loves the noodles there and they just switched the menu to fried rice.
We were able to snag a Cali Grill reservation instead so I’m a lot happier. I hear great things about their “vegetarian unplugged” menu too...

19 days - I have two days off before we leave so I had hoped to do some packing over this past weekend - it didn't happen. My 11 year old son however has everything packed. I'm not sure what he plans to wear the next 19 days - but he did tell me we need to go shopping for more clothes for him. That must be how he plans to have clothes to wear until we leave. :confused3

We are also at 19 days! I'm like your son - I packed a bunch of stuff last night and I'm barely leaving myself anything to wear these next three weeks. I work M-F and have work clothes but looks like I'll be in workout clothes every weekend :rotfl:

We have 19 days too!! I started packing for my boys this weekend. Found a deal at Walmart on nylon style athletic pants ($1 each) so I'm going to wash and pack those instead of putting them in their drawers. They had plenty of socks underwear and pjs so I put those in my packing pile too!

I can't wait! I just wish I could predict the weather so it would make packing so much easier

SO CLOSE!

I'm wondering, though. We got our magic bands last week. Should our Magic Express luggage tags have come with those? I was really hoping to do that.

I'm glad things are going well! Have a great time, can't wait to hear how the rest of your trip goes!

Are you referring to the actual yellow transfer tags that ME uses to find your bags and deliver them to the hotel? If so, they are mailed separately from the Magic Bands, and come in an envelope. If you're talking about the cute character luggage tags that don't really do anything but are fun to have, those come in the box with your Magic Bands - IF you purchased a vacation package. Room only reservations don't get those.

The one day I need my 3 year old to nap, nope. Tomorrow is going to be a very long day for him. Our ride is picking us up at 5:30am.

Ah, thank you! Yeah, I'm talking about the yellow transfer tags. We were hoping to just go straight from the airport to Disney Springs, if at all possible (tho I guess if we go via ME bus we'd have to go to Saratoga Springs and THEN walk to DS?).

How soon before do those usually come in? I need to know when to start panicking?

...

side note, but I'm checking the predicted temperatures and feeling a wee bit grumpy that some of the DisneyBounds we were planning to do probably won't be feasible. :/

Hi @Truxi I see you're staying at All Star Music. You'll have to go to your hotel first as that's how the Magical Express works - takes you to the hotel where you are checking in. Once you arrive, you'll have to change to a Disney Springs bus.

One week to go here! I haven't started packing yet but did get some trial size stuff together as well as hand sanitizing wet wipes. I also bought a new pair of Skechers this weekend and am wearing them this week at work. I've always had good luck with this brand being very comfy right off the bat and so far these are also!

They usually come around three weeks before...

I've heard really good things about their ribs! Also heard the noodles are back at 'Ohana- that was totally weird and uncalled for with the rice :headache: But you can't go wrong with CG! Have a great trip :goodvibes

We're supposed to get some snow here tonight and again Sunday, which is all fine with me as long as it's clear when we fly out on the 20th. So far looks good!

So a few days ago we went to 1900 park fare and while we were parking we saw Cinderella’s carriage being used for a wedding. All the horsemen were dressed in white, the horses were white, the carriage was lighted up and the bride and groom looked amazing. My daughter gasped and whispers “it’s cinderella” it was awesome to see and I wish I could have told the bride what my daughter said.

The surprise went very well. My son’s jaw dropped when he saw his grandparents and they both danced around.

Today we go to the parks! Magic kingdom here we come!

Adorable! When we stayed at the GF last Sept. we saw 4 weddings there, all using the carriage. I stopped to watch it each and every time, it just didn't get old!

My 4 yr old got pixi dusted today and it’s noon! She got her first haircut at Harmony barber shop and the entire experience was amazing! The barbers really doted on her, gave her toys and made her feel special and not scared. They called a photopass photographer and got some pictures of her and then Mary Poppins visited and talked to her! After all that she got to choose how her hair was going to be styled and she got pixi dust in her hair. Worth every penny and more!

I returned from my quick weekend solo trip yesterday! I stayed at YC and got upgraded to Club Level! What a nice surprise, especially since I just booked a standard view room. I enjoyed breakfast at the lounge 2 mornings and stopped in for some snacks one afternoon. It felt very "exclusive."

I did 4 parks in 1 day on Saturday. That was a crazy day but I rode at least 3 rides in each park and got my picture taken in each park. The order I went in was AK, HS, (break at resort) Epcot & MK. On Sunday, I did MK in the morning and then took a break at the resort and then spent Sunday evening at Epcot. It was a great trip and I can't wait to go back with my mom and kids in just 38 days!

I hope everyone enjoys their upcoming trips!
