I purchased MYW tickets from UT before the price upgrade. The tickets are "pay for 4 days and get 2 days free", so park admission for 6 days total.
We are staying on site for 9 days and will be going to the parks for 5 of those days. Will I be able to make FP ressies for the period throughout all 9 days PLUS day 10 which is my check out day?
I'm asking this because I see with the new tickets a 6 day ticket will allow you to make FP ressies for 9 days. But I really need to make FP ressies for my check out day also, which is actually day 10.

Yes. You have the old MYW tickets so you don’t fall under new booking rules.

We have a split stay 2 nights onsite 11/22-11/24 and off site for 7 nights with 9 day MYW tickets purchased as part of a MYW package before the increase. Online it says nothing about expiration of my tickets, but in the MDE app, it shows my 9 day MYW tickets expiring on 11/24/18, which is only day 3 of our trip. When I called Disney to make a room request I asked about this and the lady seemed confused, but said i would be fine, but now i'm slightly panicked. Does anyone else with upcoming trips show their expiration dates on their tickets in the app in the same way? Will we be ok for our 9 day tickets to extend past our check out day?

I would consider that an MDE glitch, it should resolve itself. I assume you already have FP+ scheduled. There is no way a 9-day ticket expires after just 3 days. Even the new tickets have a 13-day window to use a 9-day ticket, which supersedes the shorter length of stay window. I think you are fine.

So if a date range for the new tickets is March 13th-19th the ticket can be used on March 19th correct? Thinking of buying tickets through Undercover tourist so I dont want to end up a date short for my trip. We will be heading to a park on March 19th and flying home that night

Hi all! I tried reading through all of this before asking my question, but I think I just confused myself!

We are toying around with taking a trip in the fall and whether we can go for 7 days (Sat-Fri) for 5 days (Mon-Fri). I had been considering going down on a Saturday but not doing the parks until Monday. Don't think we would be doing a split stay so we would be at the same resort the entire time. Are we able to buy tickets that start on a Monday if we arrive on a Saturday? That being said, would FP selection be 60 days from our check-in, or from when our tickets start? And last question, can we do all of the above with tickets bought through a 3rd party? The past few times we have gone we had APs so didn't have to worry, but another one of those isn't in our immediate future!

If it's a package the tickets start date will be your check-in date. You don't tell them what day you plan to use them unless you are buying tickets separately. Then you are still able to use them whatever day you want, just know they expire in X number of days (based on the number of days you buy) unless you have a package. If you book a package the tickets automatically last till check out, no matter how many days worth of tickets you have. Also, if you buy tickets separately you will pay a difference if you use them on a different day and that day is a more expensive day but if you use them on a less expensive day you won't get a credit.

FP booking is based on check-in day at the resort.

Thanks so much for the response! We would not be doing a package. Based on the research I've been doing we can get hotel and tickets cheaper than going through Disney and that is one of my main selling points to my DH lol. If we arrive on a Saturday but don't start the parks until Monday, we will certainly be getting enough tickets to get us through our stay, we always say we will take a no park day, but it hasn't happened yet!

When buying separate tickets, choose the lowest priced ticket date that will encompass your complete trip within its “validity window.”

If you need to make changes to the valid window of use, you may need to pay more to update the ticket either via MDX or at a Ticket Window. Price is dependent upon the first day of your valid window.

If you pull up the Disney ticket calendar, some days are more expensive than others. When you buy a ticket that is good for a certain number of park days, its cost is the average of the per-day ticket price from the calendar times the number of park entries you are getting. It doesn't matter what day you actually use them once you're in the park (as in, you won't suddenly be asked to pay more when you enter a park just because it's a more expensive day) but knowing how long a ticket bought separate from a package is good for can influence how much the overall tickets cost.

For example, I buy a 7 day park hopper - which is valid for 10 days. I can play around with my "start date" on the calendar to see if starting it earlier than my check in day works out to be a cheaper ticket, because if the 10 day period includes more of the lower priced days the average cost per day will be lower.

You can make the necessary changes to your tickets from within your MDX account. Change dates or add the Flexible Option.

Refunds aren’t given but you may need to pay additional amounts depending on your park dates.

Package tickets can be upgraded to APs and you won’t lose your FPs.

Thanks! That’s what I thought but the new ticketing page says no changes on start day of ticket.... so confusing!

So if I wasn't sure on a new date, I would just go in and change to a flexible date ticket and it would never expire?

It would eventually expire in a year or so but the value remains. Check the Ticket Sticky for known expiration dates.
