Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We checked out of yc today and had an amazing time! The customer service there was the best I’ve had at any Disney resort so far. We will definitely be doing CL sometime again if our budget allows. We ate almost all of our meals in the lounge and even cancelled some of our ADRs to just eat there.

It’s hard to think of cons from our stay so these are the only ones we can think of:
Dh said he didn’t like having to find a cm every time he wanted a drink from the lounge.
My only complaint about our whole stay was the light on the balcony but they brought a Minnie eye mask to our room so I can’t complain at all.

*Sorry ahead for the long story*
I also keep forgetting to post but we rented a sea raycer today and it was one of the best things I’ve done at Disney. We just signed up for half an hour. While we were in the water we noticed a bunch of speedboats driving past. Turns out a transportation boat at hs was on fire and smoking so they had to go help. These sea raycers are tiny boats and we are full grown adults so it was tight. Near the end of our time a speedboat came around the corner and the wake was large. We went over it and water filled into our boat lol. We were completely drenched but we thought it was funny. The manager at the boat rentals said our rental was free and even bought us lunch at hurricane Hanna’s. I told him he didn’t have to because it actually made it more fun for us but he insisted. Anyway, everyone should rent a sea raycer but your experience might not be as exciting haha
We can upgrade to CL for 2 nights, additional $300 for both nights. Trying to figure out if it's worth it. We are there for our rest day. Our plan is Epcot on check-in day, rest day, and Epcot AM EMH on check-out day. It's 2A, 2C, I don't know if we would eat $300 worth, did you find that the lunch snacks were enough for a meal?

A quick update from our Jan trip at BC. We stayed in room 4643. We had a nice Juliette balcony looking towards BWI. I was happy sitting in bed and looking out. The 1st 2 nights during the day it sounded like someone was moving furniture above us, then quiet for a couple of days, then the last 2 like children were running. It didn’t really bother us much. All the CMs we encountered were friendly at BC & it was clean. Everything was perfect until our last full day, when I started to not feel so great. A couple days later my DH wasn’t feeling well either. After all these years & trips, it finally happened, we had gotten the notorious Disney virus (insert dramic music, lol). DH bounce back quickly, as for me, (I do not have a robust immune system unfortunately) it turned into bronchitis & after 3 weeks I’m finally starting to feel better. There were a lot people coughing throughout the parks and we did our best with hand sanitizer & frequent hand washing, guess it wasn’t enough. But catching a virus would never stop us from going back. We’re book for September at BWI!

I guess that really depends how often you see yourselves using the lounge. We ate in there mostly for breakfast and “dinner”. Personally we didn’t really like the lunch snacks and they didn’t fill us up for a whole lunch

For cl trips I mostly book for TIME savings and convenience. It is helpful on short trips where every minute counts!

Do you prefer a fast yet tasty breakfast? or a nice sit down somewhere?

Eat a big lunch and then have some appetizers and maybe a light meal later?

Do you have time for desserts at least one of the nights?

For BC the rooms for cl on the 5th floor are not quiet as spread out as the other floors. Does this interest you?

For me and dd trips we often do CL because it works with our style. With dh it is not as important because he is unpredictable with what he wants and when lol.

For me that 150 a night is my "fence" below I go, over I skip. So if you want to it is only 2 nights so not the end of the world to splurge unless you would rather use the $ elsewhere.

:flower1:

So I have a water view room booked for YC for 3/14-3/18, am I almost guaranteed to be facing some sort of construction?

Lunch snacks are homemade chips or small pita chips, limited crudités with dip, cookies & a few candies. I personally would never consider those things as making a meal. Unless you have breakfast late, eat a few veggies at 3 & hold out for apps at 5. They do have some type of cold meat & cheese at breakfast. I suppose you could keep a few slices in your fridge with some bread or a croissant for lunch later.

I don't find the lunch offerings to be enough for a meal. I get a lot of value out of the actual space of the lounge so I never just look at the monetary value of the actual food/drinks that we may consume there, but everyone is different and places different values on things. For us, if it were only $300 for both nights it would absolutely be worth it even if we only had breakfast and a few adult beverages.

Thanks everyone for the replies, talked to DH about it and we agreed that it was worth the extra $300. But boy was it a pain to switch, the first call the CM couldn't find any availability at YC - had her upgrade our BC to club level, it was almost $400 more. Then I hoped online in saw that they had YC Standard View CL with standard discount available for less than our BC Pool View CL. I called back, the phone connection was awful but the CM did find what I wanted, but something was going on that she couldn't change our reservation and the call just ended. Called back a 3rd time, it took less than 2 minutes to get YC Standard View CL with military discount. woohoo.. Our 8/13-8/15 BC is now YC CL!

So I have a water view room booked for YC for 3/14-3/18

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

am I almost guaranteed to be facing some sort of construction?

I don't think so. The area where they are doing the work for the cabana installation is very small. There are many water view rooms that do not overlook Stormalong Bay, or that area in particular. And I believe the cabanas are available for booking on March 17, so I am assuming construction will be complete by then.

I haven't seen any pictures from the rooms where you can see the gondola tracks.

I am not aware of any other major projects going on right now.

:)

I'm finally able to come back to the Dis after working an incredible amount of overtime for a special project at work. I finished it yesterday and now I have earned enough comp time to cover most of our upcoming trip. :cheer2: We leave in just two weeks from today. The first four days will be at the WL and then we move to the BC. As I mentioned before, when we decided to extend our trip by two extra days there wan't much available with the AP discount. The only thing available at the YC/BC for those two days was a BC deluxe room, so I booked it with the 35% AP discount. I was very excited about the deluxe room because of the great views, but we really didn't need that much space for two people. I usually keep checking the Disney website looking for rooms to become available and one day a BC CL - SV room showed up with the 35% AP discount. It was just $57 per night more than the deluxe room and using Disney math, it was a no-brainer to switch to the club level room. The deluxe room did not have club level access. They make that clear on the Disney website, but that is another discussion. ;)

DH and I are very excited to experience CL at the BC for the first time. We had done club level at WL and it really spoils you. :) I'm planning to do the Regatta Run even though I haven't been able to do much training with the ice and snow and sub-zero temperatures we have had this month. But I will manage. ::yes::

I'm also curious about the cabana construction and will once again do my spy - work and try to see exactly what is going on there. The area that is under construction is near the area we like to hang out in when we are at SAB. We plan a very laid back trip with lots of relaxing and the YC/BC is a great place for that. We also love the WL, so the entire trip should be fun. :)

Hi friends! I will be down in 10 days for a conference at YC..... just there in August and LOVE LOVE LOVEDDD it!! Cant wait to be back!! I was wondering if anyone has been for a conference and if so, what kind of room did you get? We LOVED the garden view room we had in August but for this, only had one option of room ( I asked!) to book. When I look at my special group confirmation page, it says standard view. I noticed on touring plans that there are only a handful of standard view rooms (not nearly enough to accommodate this huge conference I dont think! I was wondering if there was a certain location for conference rooms or if I could pay for an upgraded room upon arrival since I booked with a group? Thanks everyone! Cant wait to be home!

The regatta run is only like 1.7 miles so I think you’ll be okay :thumbsup2

Here is an experience which was not at Disney so it might not be helpful -

I booked a hotel room in NYC using a conference rate. So did a ton of my friends. I arrived a few days earlier than most of the people in our group, but it was still part of the discounted block. When I checked in at the hotel front desk, I asked if my assigned room had a fridge. I know rooms on the higher floors at that hotel have been renovated recently and have fridges, which rooms on the lower floors don't.

The employee at the front desk said that my room did not have a fridge. I could request a fridge and pay for it. Or, for the same nightly cost as getting a fridge, I could upgrade to a nicer room which includes a fridge. He quoted me a rate per night for the upgrade. It wasn't bad, because it was the difference between rack rate for an upgraded room and rack rate for a standard room. It was not the difference between rack rate for an upgraded room and my cheaper group rate for the standard room. I agreed to pay for the upgrade.

When my friends arrived, I visited them in two different rooms. Both had been given upgraded rooms at no extra cost.

Perhaps when you arrive at the Disney hotel, you should go to your room first and check it out before asking about paying for an upgrade, in case you were assigned a good room at no extra cost.

Of course, if someone can reply who has stayed there for a conference, they will be able to give you better advice.

Sounds like we'll be there the same time. Also club level, standard view :-).

We are beyond excited for our first stay at Beach club July 20-24th ( then swapping to 4 nights at the Polynesian). Need help with room recommendations for a standard view on the resort side. I would say a full size balcony is the most important to us as we will sit up some nights outside after DS is in bed. I have looked at touring plans site and it is hard to tell which rooms have full size and which have the juliette balconies.

If having a full balcony is your most important request I would call and just have them put that on your reservation. I will say that we wanted a full balcony in October but got a room that was the absolute furthest from the lobby. We ended up asking to switch and got a room with a Juliette but it was so much better to be closer to the lobby

So I have a few questions about these cabanas. I called today to reserve a half day on May 20th. We just got our waitlist for BCV for the 15th-22nd. The cost with tax was $211. This isn’t something we would normally do, but it will be our first warm weather trip with my daughter, who turns one the day before we leave. I thought guaranteed shade for her on our pool day would be nice. I read on here that a half day was 10-3 but the lady I booked with told me it was 4 hours? Do we know which is correct? Also, where are they building these? Is it closish to the sandy/ zero entry area for my daughter? Thanks!

FWIW, half-day at other resorts with cabanas (GF, CY, Poly, for example) is 10-2 and 3-7.

The $211 is for a half-day? I need to go check what I’ve paid at GF and CR, but that seems pretty steep relatively speaking if my memory is correct (may not be, I need to check). Guess they are confident in their product. :-)

From a pic posted a couple of pages back, yes, they are near the sandy/zero entry part of SAB.

Very excited to say that we are staying the YC 9/29 - 10/6 with free dining. I haven't been to Disney since 2011 and my fiancée has never been. We are truly excited to be going and can't wait to stay at the YC.

How exciting! I hope you have an amazing trip! YC is gorgeous!
