MK/Fantasyland “Early Morning Magic” (EMM) FAQ & Discussion

My family and I have our first trip planned for July. We are doing EMM on July 23rd. What should I RD and what should my 3 FPP? I have 3 little ones: 7, 5 and 3. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

It really depends on what your family likes. I have a 7 and 2 year old and I plan to do Dumbo, Barnstormer and Buzz at rope drop before breakfast. Then we have FP for ETWB, Buzz again and Ariel meet after my daughter's mermaid makeover. SDMT is as intense as my daughter will go and HM is a no go so that's what makes sense for us. Jungle cruise would be another good option but we'll try for SDFP for that as the others were higher priority for us.

The added attractions are a highlight and the only downside is the breakfast is that it’s not what it once was. Even that, I highly recommend the new format. I have a video on YouTube if our morning and all we got done

The breakfast sounds like the same menu as before but in a different location. I would have preferred the previous location but what else did you find different?

Can you share a link to your video?

My understanding is that the cold buffet is roughly the same, but the hot foods have changed. It’s a slightly different selection (pancakes now, I think it was French toast before? And no more frittata.), and you get a plate of everything at the counter instead of choosing items at the buffet. I believe I also read that you have to get your drinks at the counter, so people who only wanted the cold items still has to wait in the hot food line to order their drinks.

We’re scheduled to be there next month and will try to report back, we did it a year ago as well.

I have a PPO ADR at BOG for 8:05 and just realized that EMM is occurring that day was well. How does that impact me? I’m assuming I can still get in to eat at my BOG PPO time. Correct? When we are done eating can we ride rides?

They will hold you near 7DMT until 9am. No riding until then.

Just did this yesterday in the rain, here's my 2¢...
Well worth it, we got to do everything DGS wanted to do in the allotted time prior to the hordes (no exaggeration, a woman literally ran around from behind me with a stroller, ran over my feet, to PARK A STROLLER!) arriving en masse.
At 9am we headed for HM, where there was already a significant line we were prepared to stand in. The CMs waved us into the FP line (not sure if they do this on many of the attractions between 9 am - 10 am, or it was pixie dust?) so we went from there to teacups to breakfast at 9:30.
Here is the only disappointing part of the morning. You had no choice, you could not order what you wanted. There was a LOT of waste.
Others here have remarked about how scant the offerings were for the cold items. That was not our experience, they seemed to have improved dramatically. Lots of CMs replenishing, and keeping the area neat and tidy. So A+ for the cold food, condiments, and CMs, C- for hot food.
We had been when they offered breakfast at Pinocchio's Village Haus, and that was a much better experience. Maybe the same food choices, but buffet style, so nowhere near the same amount of waste.
There were plenty of CMs keeping the tables bused and helping people with trays.
All in all, it was a great experience. We would absolutely do it again, well worth the price!

Does anyone know if you can ask for a plate without the meat on it? Or do you have to take the whole plate and remove the meat yourself?

If you have dietary restrictions they will make a separate meal for you. But it’s going to take longer waiting for the chef and having your meal prepared.

Does any one have any experience with having a non-EMM guest attend breakfast, without eating? For background, we'll be a party of 5, but only 4 want to do EMM. The fifth (granddad) would like to sleep in a little, and just come at or after regular rope drop. As the rest of us would rather take advantage of the lower rope drop crowds, we're planning to eat closer to 10am. This would leave granddad standing around somewhere outside while we go eat breakfast. As he will have already probably eaten on his own, it's not a big deal for him to sit and sip on his coffee while we eat. I imagine the answer is that he won't be allowed into the restaurant, but hopefully someone has tried or asked a CM before. Apologies if that has already been answered. I skimmed the thread but didn't see any similar queries.

The food is not nearly as good. We loved the buffet, but this breakfast is eh... But we love the expanded

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this question asked. However, I’d plan on them likely being pretty strict about being let in to Cosmic Rays. Anything else would be Pixie Dust. Possible, I just wouldn’t bank on it in case you need to set expectations within your party.

When they had the breakfast at PVH, they were checking wristbands as people came in to eat.

Granddad could take a ride on COP while the rest of you eat. It's nearby, wouldn't have a wait at that time of day, and y'all might get done at about the same time. Just a thought.

You could always go outside and eat as well. You could plead your case to the CM at the door, you never know!

They did allow the rest of our party to join us for breakfast last year but that was some pixie dust after a problematic EMM where mine train and Pooh were down the whole event. They allowed it because we had to cancel a dining reservation in order to be able to use the guest recovery that was offered (using the FP line for the three rides until noon).
