Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Sounds like a fun trip ! Eat all the icecream you want , it’s birthday weekend !

Thanks. The upgrade was a great surprise. We ended up canceling all our ADRs. I was going to do a three night comparison of Cape May dinner, the Garden Grove seafood buffet and an off-site place Boston Lobster as my birthday splurge. Guess that’ll wait until a future trip.

I will say that we’ve figured out why this room was a free upgrade. I might have been trading rooms if I paid CL$ for it. It’s as far from the lounge as you can go without being over at YC, and you get to feel like you’re at SAB all day and night. Good thing I like most of the music they play at the pool, and the blackout curtains work really well to block out the lights. And it’s got the Juliette balconies, which seems to be a big dealbreaker for a lot of people.

The room is huge, though, and feels bigger since there’s only a sleeper chair instead of a full-size sofa bed. There’s tons of open floor space. I’m actually surprised they didn’t make this an accessible room, since there would be tons of space for even multiple ECVs. And as I just found out, you can see the higher Star Wars and Fantasmic fireworks over at HS.

I did take pics of the room, and I’ll post them next week.

Have you tried calling mousekeeping and asking specifically for more toiletries? Last time I called and asked for more. They said which ones... I said all of them, but especially shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. I am still using those toiletries 3 years later.... ;)

I’ve got tons at home from previous trips, and we’ve only got carryons, otherwise I might have. Gotta stock up before they switch over to the rumored wall dispensers like at the gym...

I have several of these and they’re really good. I got Rome Burning too because I love the smell, but I found out it’s only on the ride. There’s something about your house smelling like it’s burning down that kind of ruins it.
Lol I could see how that might not smell as great at home. Are the 8 oz candles tiny? $17 isn’t cheap for a candle

So, that's about it on Room 3209 / 2 Bedroom Suite-Club Level Access.

Some overall thoughts:

- Lots of space, the bedrooms being on either side of the suite would be good for traveling families/couples that want some separation.
- I'm biased, but I like CL at YC a lot, so that's always nice. It is a long'ish, but pretty easy trek to the lounge from this room. You could have a longer walk at the end of the CL floor for some rooms.
- Three full bathrooms would really come in handy for some traveling parties. A combination of showers and tubs helps with adults/little ones as well.
- Good central room location within the context of the resort - easy to get to everything.
- Reasonably good views from both bedrooms, although the balconies are kind of small'ish. I think maybe I was expecting a bigger "wow" balcony with the suites, but that's not the case with this particular suite type. It's OK.
- No full-sized fridge and no full-sized sink, there are other WDW suites that have more of a real kitchen if that is something that is important to you.

Always happy to answer any questions, just let me know. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your fantastic review and awesome photos!
Would a rollaway bed fit in either the second bedroom or living room? We are hoping to do a family trip for Christmas 2020 with my daughter and her husband and little boy who will be 2 years by then so I'm guessing won't count towards room occupancy? Your suite looks perfect in size and layout but my 2 boys won't want to share a bed so I'm thinking maybe a rollaway would work. Mind you it would all depend on whether the baby counted as there would be 5 adults, 1 child and 1 baby.
Also is the cost similar to the price of 2 separate Club level rooms? Love the living space and mini kitchen and think both would be great especially with 2 families who want to holiday together but not on top of each other plus 3 bathrooms!!!:worship:

Not sure if it’s been posted yet or not, sorry not all caught up, March 17th Hurricane Hanna’s will have extended hours, dinner available until 10 instead of 8!

Hopefully they'll be serving lots of Sunken Treasures so everyone can "drown their shamrock and wear their green" to celebrate St Patrick's Day ! Slainte!:shamrock:

I'll add you to the list.

Good question- I haven't stayed at club level since 2016, so the experience I have is even more ancient than yours.

Some of the offerings have changed/expanded. They have a hot, rotating breakfast entrée each morning. The evening appetizers also have improved and become more meal-like than nibbles. Lounge is open 24 hours now (I think).

Question for the masses:

Is there still ice cream available in the coolers?

What's the deal with fast pass service?

:goodvibes

Wow!!! Thank you!!! :D

Do you mind sharing what the annual pass discount was and how far in advance they release the discount?

Sorry to have missed your question. The AP rate I got was $550 for our Saturday night and $450 for the other nights. That doesn’t include tax. CL wasn’t available when I booked in November, but I got an AP discount for a water view. Can’t recall the rates. I just kept checking for an AP CL and it popped up last week.

The AP rates are amazing, aren’t they? I got a water view for early May at under $350 a night. I could’ve done CL for around $100 a night more, just couldn’t justify it. It’s just me and my grandson and we won’t be there during serving times. I sure was tempted! But I’m thrilled with the rates. I’ve got a quick weekend trip scheduled for the end of October on a public discount and paying $470 for a standard view. I’m hoping they come out with some more awesome discounts for that one as well and maybe we’ll give CL a try, never done it before.

Has anyone noticed that Deluxe rooms are currently not an online booking option at the YC? Any ideas out there, other than a glitch, why not?

The BC shows Deluxe available.

Also, it is strange that BWI still offers Deluxe, including CL benefits, while CL benefits were removed from Deluxe rooms at YC & BC. The difference in benefits is reflected in the higher BWI room rates for Deluxe.

@Sandi @cakebaker thank you both so much for your replies. Hope you have wonderful trips :)
@cakebaker I’m already dreaming of the day when I can bring my wee grandson to WDW. He’s only 11months so I’ve a bit to wait but I’m sure looking forward to it :)

He and I went last October. He just turned 7, and it’s the perfect age for being self reliant enough that it doesn’t wear me out, no stroller and smart enough that I don’t have to have a hand on him at all times without worrying about losing him ( he was a runner, lol). It was an amazing trip. It was so nice just to do what he wanted and not have to satisfy a big group of adults.

2 down sides- When I needed to do something that he didn’t need to be there for, yet couldn’t leave him sitting alone. Mom would kill me if I lost him.;) and he’s a thrill ride junkie and I’m not. Everest, RRC and Space Mountain are not on my list- but I did them. Just closed my eyes and waited for it to be over, then told him how amazing it was. :) We’re making memories I hope he has forever.

I’m lucky he has a great mom who can stand to let him go when she can’t. It’s not easy letting your only little go more than a thousand miles away from you. Not sure I could have!

I don’t think I have ever seen deluxe rooms available to book online. I actually only knew they have them because it was offered as a bounceback option a few years ago. BC always shows them, but I really don’t think they ever show for YC.

Also, I think this is the first year that BC removed CL access. Many people complained over the years about the distance some of the rooms were from the lounge & that they didn’t get much use out of the lounge because of that. So Disney made them non club & decreased the cost to those rooms. Hopefully someone else will have more info.

Don’t think this was posted here yet....but read in a FB group that the new cabanas offer a 15% AP discount. Just a heads up for any passholder looking to book (or who already did and paid full price!!)

Thanks for the info, haven’t read that before. I am considering getting a half day over Easter & this makes it a bit more doable.

Hi everyone! We’re planning an extended family trip in mid-Jan 2020 (either second or third week, TBD). Booking through a TA and likely planning BC, but YC would also be fine if it comes up with better pricing! We basically want a deluxe resort with the most reasonable pricing we can find and good theming and kid friendly. I have stayed at BC without kids and I think my kids would LOVE Stormalong Bay!

We will have 2 grandparents, a family of 4 with kids 8 & 5 (mine), and another family of 4 with kids 6 & 4, and an additional grandmother staying with the third group. 11 total people. We’re most likely booking 3 standard view rooms and requesting connecting where possible, but I was wondering if the friendly folks on here know of any other room configurations that might be good for us to consider?

Also, not sure if anyone would know this, but is it going to be difficult for us to get both connecting standard view rooms plus full balconies? With the young kids, we were hoping to be able to put the kids to sleep and be able to hang out with other adults on a balcony or in a connecting room. For this reason, if getting both is tough at BC with all the Juliet balconies, I was wondering if we should book YC instead.

I’d appreciate any insights!

You have a 50% chance of having a standing balcony at the BC. If you want a guaranteed balcony than YC would be a better choice. As far as connecting doors go, you just have to request connecting rooms when making your reservation. But connecting rooms at any resort are never a guarantee. :)
