Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Attractions Planning

Thanks for the information! Now I’ll just have to see if it all gets messed up since I have a split stay on rented points
hmmm...split stay could definitely mess with your 60+12. I would consider ditching the split stay and going with a full stay instead just to be safe.

Too late. Booked DVC points. I have already tested the theory of booking another reservation fir the length of stay than canceling after fastpasses 60+ are booked and it worked...just waiting to see if others have had luck with booking normal split.

I get motion sick really easily. Star Tours, FOP, etc. I wonder if Smugglers Run will be similar.

if you link a multi day ticket to your MDE account w/ the split stay, you can book FP at 60 out for the entire stay at 60 days before your first check in date - the split makes no difference. We did this last year had 7 day tickets but 3 separate DVC point rentals. At 60 days out of the first check in we could book FP+ for all 7 days. Will be doing the same for our next trip- hoping to go to DHS on days 5-7 for an hour or two each day in hopes of getting to see everything via FP+.

Thank you! I also rented points with 2 reservations last May and had no issues booking fastpasses across both reservations, but I was just worried they changed the rules on me!

I see that FP+ won't be available initially as per the following from Disney Parks Blog:

"For your vacation planning purposes, please be aware that Disney FASTPASS service, including access via Disney MaxPass, (at Disneyland park) and Disney FastPass+ service (at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) will not initially be offered at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. We will continually evaluate our operations and services in order to help provide a great guest experience."

I find this scary given expected massive line-up. Is this normal for a major new attraction?

i don't recall another attraction opening where they didn't have FP available. Including FoP.
I think this means we won't even try to ride it this fall when we are there. I suspect unless you are there 3 hours + before opening, you will have little chance to ride without a 4-6 hour wait.

I actually think Disney is smart to not open with FP. It keeps a constant flow of people moving in and out of this attraction instead of the interruption in the standby line that FP causes.

I read the descriptions, but can anyone tell me if the rides are considered "thrill" rides?

I like all kinds of rides, but just curious.

My guess there will be some stopping to let people with DAS, MAW and rider swap but not as bad as the normal FP line would do. and I forgot VIP tours

i can’t find any sites that explain how this ride operates other than there are pilots and other operator seats. Is this ride more like the existing Star Wars ride at HS, more like Flights of Passage or neither?

There are two rides and I’m assuming you’re talking about Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

The Falcon is a capsule of sort that will rotate on a turn table. The rotation is simply for loading and unloading nothing more. As you rotate slowly your capsule is moving as a simulator much like Star Tours. Until people have been on it we can’t say for sure how much movement that will be.

I can't even handle this ride description (warning, spoilers!!)

The entire Rise of the Resistance experience is going to be 28 minutes. 28 MINUTES!! With more than 300 animatronic elements.

I'm...it's...I....mind blown.

My DH and I weren't excited at all, until we realized that these attractions are basically a day-long LARP !!!! (Live Action Role Play) Forget historical re-enactment, this is one step higher, with the Disney Play app guiding you around...

How do you think the tiers will be set up for SWGE? And how long a trip will one need to make fast passes for both SW rides, SDD, Toy Story Mania, Rockin Roller Coaster and the Mickey and Minnie train ride?

There's a better way to do this.

I'd see what the two rides look like before you go making FP+. Remember Na'Vi River Journey? Not worth it.. Also, who's to say that TSM won't move down to a Tier 2 once this all opens?

With SWGE opening, it's gonna be insanely crowded at the park. Heck, it was insanely crowded when TSL opened, which led to much longer wait times than we're accustomed to.

I'd say you'll need two days at DHS. One day you'll get a FP+ for one SW ride. On this day you'll go for Rope Drop and head to SDD. Grin and bear the 45 to 60-minute wait/hope that everyone runs to SW:GE. If you can get a FP+ for SW1, RnR, and another ride for this day, I'd say that's a win. Look to book it later in your trip. Keep the 13-day window in mind. The later in your trip you book, the higher the chance you'll get it.

On the second day, I'd either shoot for SW2 or Mickey and Minnie Train Ride.

The thing is, SW:GE is gonna bring in crowds like you've never seen, but a lot of these people won't be Disney fans. It's gonna be a lot of first timers who don't know the ins and outs of FP+...or even understand the system itself.

Are you staying on site for a decent length of time? The 60+length of resort stay crowd are going to eat those FPs right up. If you are staying onsite make your GE day you last park day to maximize the chance of open FPs.

That is what I'm debating. My SWGE trip will be for marathon weekend and I normally stay a few days after the races to enjoy parks and that is where I've done FoP before. I don't mind extending an extra few days if needed to get SWGE FPs but trying to decide how many that will need to be. This year I came down the Wed before the 5k and checked out the Wed after. That let be get FoP and SS on Mon/Tue. Thinking maybe I need to extend till Fri but if I do that may as well extend checkout to Sun since it is no additional vacation days. Decisions, decisions.... Going to be an expensive trip regardless
