I don’t remember it being mentioned here but I bought that bag I think.
This one

I haven’t used it yet but it seems good.

That looks interesting! I’d like to hear your thoughts about it after you have used it in a trip.

I bought a spinner under-seat bag from TJ Maxx 2 years ago which has worked well for a trip to Japan and also for domestic trips. I forgot the brand though. I did stalk our local store for a few weeks before one showed up.

Someone about 20 pages back asked about their score going down since they paid off their car. If you have no other installment loans (car, mortgage, student loans,) than you will lose quite a few points when that loan reports closed. I paid off my minivan in Dec. and in Jan. I lost 40 points. I recently started a share secure loan from Navy Federal to recoup at least some of those points. I'll post back when that starts reporting with results.
Thanks, that was me. We still have a mortgage so not completely out of the installment loan business. I’ll keep checking over the next few weeks.

Yep, I can confirm this. For whatever reason, my mortgage does not show on my Transunion report, and that score is lower than my others. I expect my score to dip again when I pay off my car in a few months. Kind of infuriating, but in a way I understand it. Credit scores are a measure of how you’re handling your obligations RIGHT NOW, so the fact that one has had multiple paid as agreed loans in the past isn’t necessarily an indication of how you might handle credit today. I shouldn’t have to be in debt to maintain a higher score, but that’s the way the scoring model works. It just angers me that scores are used for things like setting insurance rates and certain jobs.

That’s actually a REALLY BAD offer on CFU. If you compare it to the current 15k signup offer you have to spend $10,000 on the card just to break even vs the old offer.

On the old offer you could get 15,750 URs for spending $500 lol. With this offer, if you spend $500 you’d get 1,500 URs...yaaay! Doesn’t seem like a “churners” offer. Maybe good for a non-churner though.

This non-churner :) would like to know: If one spends $20,000 in the first year, which would yield more URs? The $500 SUB or getting 3x for the year?

So yesterday was not a great day...my dear dog1 (the bulldog who looks a lot like my avatar) has a torn ACL and her surgery (if she gets it--DH is being so weird:sad1:) will be about $4500 (est). Insult to injury-the vet specialist does not take Amex. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

So a 4 figure surgery (during which my beloved pet might die since she has a pretty significant cardiac condition) without making Amex happy? Lose/lose/lose. That's my reality right now. I'm so mad at Chase for not approving DH's CIP right now--and worried sick about my furry child.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that. Wishing your pup a speedy recovery.

I'm sorry. I'd feel the same. That is our 'usual' week to go and our fav time but we cannot go that late this year. I've been pretty bummed about it. Until today :( Can you move your trip at all?
No. Unfortunately we rented DVC points to get the best deal :worried: DH is really upset and willing to just count what we’ve paid so far as a loss rather than spend more to go. I’m on the fence. We were so excited to finally go back, but it kinda sounds like a nightmare with 3 young kiddos in tow now.

I wouldn't waste the money you've spent and cancel your trip. If you are that concerned, just do not go to DHS this trip. Hang out at MK, AK and Epcot. Go to the parks at rope drop and when the crowds start to swell, leave and do something else and have resort time. Go back in the evening. I think you will be able to manage it. On the first opening days, most people will swarm SWGE/HS and leave the other parks as secondary.

Ugh....May rearranging the order and timing of our Chase cards...And I wanted to wait until 4/1 a full 3 months to apply for a new card...but may go for the CFU for both of us now :scratchin..since it’s over 2 months since our last card

Does Chase usually just change the offer without notice ?

I wouldn’t cancel your trip....with 3 little ones your probably up early...so definitely get to the parks at at rope drop ...it makes a big difference in the crowds...

Not doing HS is a blow though because of TSL. I was planning to get tickets for EMM and made the mistake of showing the kids a SDD video :headache: And of course now EMM ends the week before we go. I’m very anxious about level 7-10 crowds when the only other trip we took as a family was also September. I just have no idea what to expect. Sigh... I know I shouldn’t be complaining about going to WDW. It’s just a lot of $$$

Ok, Time to refocus on earning more bonuses and URs.

I’d still go to the HS...just focus on TSL, the shows...you little ones would probably love the frozen sing a long and meeting Disney Jr characters

@tink1970 so sorry. Our extremely smart German Shepherd died a couple years ago. We have the cats now as our pets despite the girls now wanting a dog too. It hit me so hard when our dog passed that I haven’t been able to deal with another one. And then of course work and not home all the time is an easy excuse.

I have a friend from high school who had his GS for years, then lost him about three years ago. I kept encouraging him to keep his options open and not rush anything but not close off the possibility. This year, his Christmas card photo had a gorgeous new GS dog. I was so happy for him and his girls. That said, I get the fear. I had a Pekingese from 4th grade to 4th year of medical school (one of my friends from undergrad was a 4th year vet student and sent her to Heaven). I've never had a "small" dog again. So totally understand. Hugs and hoping you'll be ready someday.

I’d have him get on that ASAP. My dad has done it a couple times, faxed it in via branch both times. First time it took a few days, last time it took a week and a half, he kept calling but they just said it was processing this last time.

That's great advice and I would do that but DH isn't really into being a P2. Compounding the issue is the closest branch is 153 miles away. The most exciting thing to me in NYC when we were there last was seeing real live brick and mortar Chase branches. I was amazed--they DO exist IRL:laughing:

Thanks for the good wishes @calypso726 and @CaT_DisLife! Sweet Cookie Dog is hopping along and enjoying the extra Mom timepaw:

I think the $500 SUB

$20k*3x=60k URs
$20k*1.5x=30k URs+50k SUB
I thought the SUB was $150=15k URs on the CFU after a $500 MSR....
I think FUL is only a $150 SUB after spending $500. The 50K SUB is on CSP.
$20k*3x=60K
$20K*1.5x=30K+15K
New offer potentially coming is better
The 3x on $20,000 would give you 60k URs...vs $20,000 x1.5= 30kUR + 15k SUB= 45k URs

But...I won’t put $20k on the CFU...I’d use that to get other cards and sign up bonuses...YMMV

Thanks all. I do not really churn or go after too many SUBs. I hate working on MSRs. I have been considering this card to complete my "trifecta" (CSP, CF, CFU). With organic spend I could do $20K in under a year. I have to think about this one.
