Last year, the BoA bonus posted for both of us a few days after statement close within the period of meeting requirements. It ended up being a few weeks just based on timing.

I think the statement close was a coincidence, IMO. Mine posted all within 1 statement. From the DP's I went through on DoC to get a feel for timing the only pattern I saw was that 2 weeks/10 business days-ish. Actually, now that I looked it up, the qualifying DD was the first day of the new statement so I got the bonus in the middle of it. Would have been concerned/curious if I had to wait for the statement close in that case :scared:

I finally got dh to send me a referral link to apply for the Bonvoy Business card. I got a "pending review". My Hilton business card was instant approval.

Any idea why that would happen?

After I did the business application another screen popped up that asked for my personal information, including my SSN. Hoping they don't do a pull and see the cards I've recently applied for (Hilton personal and business -- since December -- guess that's not so bad).

DP here: The reason for our decision is that you have reached the maximum number and type of Cards that we will approve within the period of a few months.

What is the limit for AmEx "within a few months"? I had two in December and my application for the Bonvoy Business was cancelled.

After looking over my game plan....originally was going to apply for the CF or CFU..on 4/1...depending on what the 5x bonus categories were for the 2nd quarter.....

Decided to apply today for the CFU...due to the rumored changes.....supported a dischurner...and have messaged them....
Received the...we need more time message.....called the 800-432-3117 almost immediately...and was approved with another huge CL...:cheer2:

Just used my referral link to “help”;) DH apply for one as well...he was instantly approved...but with half the CL :confused3
Using the same household income....and CLs with Chase are within $2k of each other

Amex has a 2 Amex credit cards in the past 90 days limit. If you got 2 in December, you may not be outside of the 90 days yet. I'm guessing you should be out of the woods before the AF on the Bonvoy Biz goes up on 3/28/19. You could call the Amex number and recon your current Bonvoy Biz app 90 days after the earlier of your two approvals in December.

I need a recommendation for a Mastercard. I have two large payments for our farm loan this year. One I just paid using Plastiq and my new Barclay's Frontier Mastercard. I could use the Frontier card again and make it to $50,000 elite status (spending and frequent flier miles) for the rest of this year and next, but it's not really the most bang-for-my-buck. The second payment is due September 1, so I have a little bit of time. I can't use Visa or American Express for this payment.

Here's the difference between 20K elite and 50K elite. Family seating, the $30 savings on Discount Den, and the mileage multiplier would be the only real benefits.

The personal Hilton I received around December 17th, so I should be okay by the 27th. I think I may have applied for the business one in January / February now that I think about it (I need to start a spreadsheet).

Thanks for the info. I will be more careful next time!

Crazy question and I assume the answer is no. We need to make a $5,500 deposit into a new IRA. Any chance I can pay that via a Chase credit card and get the spending? I know there is a way to do vendor ETFs on the credit cards.

I'll add a bounce house to the dance party for the double shot approvals  Woohoo! Trifecta complete now? Or still need the CF?

No. Unfortunately we rented DVC points to get the best deal :worried: DH is really upset and willing to just count what we’ve paid so far as a loss rather than spend more to go. I’m on the fence. We were so excited to finally go back, but it kinda sounds like a nightmare with 3 young kiddos in tow now.
I really don't think the other parks are going to be total zoos. That week is so low normally because it's a pretty 'undesirable' time to travel. It's hurricane season (and we've been affected 2 of the last 4 years during that week), it is hotter than the surface of the sun and kids are just back in school. So, I think it will be mostly SW 'diehards' heading down for this and they will stay more in HS. I just don't see the SW fanatics making a big deal to get over to MK...not that they won't venture over there...but I don't think you are going to see the normal 1's and 2's of that week becoming 9's and 10's. Maybe at HS but not all the other parks. So, maybe you go, skip HS and just focus on the other parks. I would not lose money over this. I think you can still have a great time!!

I agree. I know a lot of people (ahem, other adult nerds...) who are super excited for SW, but would never go to WDW otherwise, so I don't foresee them crowding the other parks. Actually, more than anything, I'd bet on them spending the day at HS and then heading to USO for the rest of their trip.

Thanks for the info! I did not realize there was an additional annual fee for an authorized user. That's the first I've heard of anything like that. Probably will just let her apply for just the one card then.

I'm not sure I replied, I just saw it sitting in my quote queue, sorry if it's a dupe!

Some of the higher end cards that give separate benefits to the AU will charge a fee. For the CSR the AU gets their own Priority Pass membership, the AmEx Platinum card charges one fee for 1-3 AU's to have their own Platinum card which gets them all the same benefits as the original card holder, IIRC, like the lounge memberships, hotel status, GE/TSA Precheck credit and other benefits like Boingo (additional users past #3 each are charged individually), but for the Platinum card you can also add AUs at a lower card level - Gold - for free but they don't get the lounge memberships, hotel status or other benefits, except, GE/TSA precheck. That's a nice little bonus to mitigate that AF if you have a family that wants one of those trusted traveler programs.

I think there are a couple others but can't think of them off the top of my head, but it's mostly cards with higher AF's so it's a limited group to watch out for. And as someone else pointed out, personal AU cards are reported to your CR and will affect your 5/24 count; so unless you really need access to the card in your own name (for benefits or whatnot) it's not recommended to just automatically add AU's. Chase cards are fairly easy to request an extra card as a replacement in your own name for someone else to use if you need help meeting spend. Knock wood, so far no one's really paid attention to the name on the card so hubby and I each have some cards in the others name to avoid adding to our card count :)

Was totally thinking the same...USO will be their other landing place...

Thanks...still need the CF....will get one for myself later on this year....saving DHs applications for SW business and personal cards at the end of the year..to get another CP for 2020 & 2021...assuming the CP requirements stay the same

FYI on the Sam's Club offer on Amex... Ordered my GCs on 3/5, charge posted on 3/7, $10 credit just posted to my account (3/8).

Good to hear. I just tried the AT&T with my home account. It's set to auto pay with another credit card, so the current balance owed is $0, but I paid $175 and am hoping to get the $100 credit soon. If it works, I"ll prepay another $175 to (hopefully) get the other $100 credit.

Wouldn't you get charged a convenience fee if you were able to use a credit card? Or it might be considered a cash advance?

@mmmears tried the $100/10k MR off $175 AT&T for Wireless Business Amex Offer on her home account and it did not credit.

All DPs of prepayments towards personal (doesn’t have to be business) wireless lines triggered the Amex Offer.

Relatedly, DoC is reporting a new Amex Offer out today for 10% back on cell phone bill payments, which should stack with the AT&T offer if you have them on the same card and haven’t already used the AT&T offer.
