I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I feel like I’ve become a little bit of a timeshare snob. I’ve come to love the Marriotts. Six of the scheduled weeks are in 2-3 BR Marriotts that I have traded in to for about $510/wk. I have a 2 BR Ko Olina on Oahu for December. We will have to see how airfare falls in to place.

Yes me too! Timeshares in general have spoiled us, with the separated bedrooms, space, kitchen and laundry facilities. I was doing laundry every day on vacation last year, due to diaper blowouts and potty training. It was a necessity to have the in unit washer/dryer.

So jealous that you have the Ko Olina property in December! I'm on the waitlist. I'll even take 1 br. We already have our plane tickets, and I have a hotel reservation for backup. But I'd rather not pay $ out of pocket for the hotel (no points). I have some points leftover on my arrival+ to erase part of the expense if the TS doesn't come through.

Looking for card recommendations. (trying to follow the guidelines on first page)

We have not applied or received new CC in the last 24 months

We spend approximately $2000/mo, we charge everything we can

We Pay In Full each month, we do not carry any balances.

We fly out of CLE (Cleveland) or CAK (Akron Canton)

We have a SW Visa (direct flights have become severely limited)

Our goal is free/discounted flights

We are a family of 4

Thank you.
Tell us where you want to go. How manyopen cards you have and when you opened them.

I feel your pain on the Amex 5 credit card rule. I am at the max, and need to close something - problem is that the only card I don't want at the moment is my oldest credit card - which I don't really want to close for aging purposes. Think I'm going to have to bite the bullet on that one though and take the hit to my score.

What is a good number for age of accounts?

Observation from Reddit that they are notified of Chase cards being added to Mint before they're notified by Chase they've been approved. This happens even when the card is not auto-added to a login. Not that this will stop people from wanting to call the status line every hour but this could mean you'll know even sooner.

I received notifications last night on DH's Chase account about a new line of credit, but the automated service today still says "in writing within 30 days." I'll take the change on Credit Karma as a good sign!

DW and I have been going back and forth on doing the Wine and Dine races this year. DVC registration opens tomorrow, seems like we are going to do it. I had only glanced at the prices previously so I had an idea. But I think we are both going to do the 5k + challenge, and HOLY COW it's gonna be time for a new MSR soon.

Big question is do you have a room booked?

Also, at the end of the app, I noted language that says "any new cardmember bonus offers for this product are not available to either current or previous cardmembers of this product who received a new cardmember bonus for this product in the last 24 months." Does anyone know if this language is new, and they have just not followed it, or did they recently add this to the app?

Same for us. I told MIL a white lie that we weren't flying a MAX before I actually looked it up. It hadn't crossed my mind to look it up though.

I'm going to have to give this a shot. We're maxed out on FPs through April right now.
Dh's flight on Sunday is a 737-900 so he should be okay. He has to find his wallet before then, though :sad2:

Stay safe! I need to turn on the weather channel. I really should have gone into meteorology but didn't realize that until after college. Love storm coverage.

It's 55 degrees here and not warm enough for me. It's supposed to hit 68 tomorrow. I'm hoping winter is over, but I know well that something nasty can still hit us.

Fortunately, the affected payments were made well in advance of their due dates so a small delay shouldn’t affect me. But definitely sounds like the downtime was unexpected.
Hhmmm lodge a small complaint. Maybe some FFDs will come your way??

One other trick I've noticed people using before is to fill up two vehicles back to back at the same pump. It's inconvenient for us to do that, since it's hard for us to coordinate having empty tanks and being in town at the same time. So, DH usually fills his truck up and then takes gas cans to max out the entire 35 gallons.

We coordinate so we can get all 35 gallons in one fill up. It usually requires two vehicles plus a can for us. We have four drivers, four vehicles, plus about five acres to mow in summer. One driver is away in college, and our fifth driver now has her permit. One time we filled all four vehicles plus cans. 70 gallons, and saved $70 in one fell swoop. This was last summer when older son was home from college working a summer job.

I just bought $100 Disney gift card at Kroger with$100 Kroger gift card bought at Lowe's. It worked in the self checkout. That's awesome.

What is a good number for age of accounts?

Mine is around 7 years cause I only have 2 cards over 10 years old. Discover and a barclays aa. Those won't get cancelled anytime soon or it'll shorten it more. Credit karma shows how much it matters, I don't think it was a big one but I'd rather have 7 than 2.

I do want to see if I can pc my barclay card to something without an af the next time it comes due. I haven't flown aa in years.

Also saw a sign at Kroger self check out today. Something about getting so many % more fuel points if you use Kroger pay. I haven't looked into that yet.

Which “Marriott Rewards” card (be specific with the product name)? When did you open this card, and when did you receive a bonus, if any, on this card?

Which SPG Amex do you and DH have — the personal one with a $95 fee? When did you and DH open your respective cards, and when did you receive your bonuses, if any, on your cards?

What is your */24 status? Your DH’s */24 status? Do you or DH have any other Amex cards?
Thank you! I’m going to answer in order below if that’s okay:
I have the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus (now the Marriott Bonvoy card) opened October 2017 with the SUB reached shortly thereafter.

DH and I have the personal ($95 fee) SPG Amex opened 8/2016 for me and 11/2016 for DH. SUB received shortly thereafter.

We are both at 4/24. We have no other Amex Cards. We have the Chase ones listed above plus some SW cards. I have a Citi AA Card as well.

Thanks again:)
