Yes..I hate generic pricing request for certain date request threads too... But heading down for Universal trip August 17-25.. a bit long for just Universal, so want to do a Discovery Cove visit in there (and maybe a SeaWorld day if got that package).

But almost $700 for me and my son is a bit much for a 1 or 2 day experience. Can get Annual Passes to Universal for less.

Know in the off season they have much better rates and deals.. but do any offers pop up for other times ? Do they typically show up in the site or are there email only offers ? Or do rates stay as they are for that time ?

Try Experience Club. Regularly on travelzoo and I trust travelzoo. For our dates in April they are $160, direct is $240.

The answer would have been to buy earlier as there are black Friday deals and others, but there are fewer deals as you get closer to the date.

What about getting a deal on Sea World tickets and doing a day there, or a Sea World day and a Busch Gardens day?

Since Discovery Cove is frequently bundled with SeaWorld, figured would do them together whenever decide to do it. Won't have car to easily go to BG. If can't work in this trip, may save for another time and focus on all them on a trip.

Absolutely, taking advantage of that rock bottom price to add on 2 weeks of SW, Aquatica, and maybe Busch Gardens is the best way to do Discovery Cove.

We are going earlier in August and paid $200pp directly in the DC website. This included SW/AQ and the upgraded drink package, but did not include the dolphin swim. My daughter did the swim last time and it was literally 10 seconds of touching the dolphin and 20 seconds of holding the dolphin for the 20 yard "swim" the other 40ish minutes was filling out paperwork and learning about dolphins. I would not have gotten the swim package for her this year except I did see "trainer for a day" and knew she would love that. Sadly it was $520. But she's worth it :)

As for my husband and I, we had a FABULOUS day without the dolphin swim. and full days at Sea World and Aquatica made it very affordable. 4 days at a Disney Springs resort, 3 days of park passes (we also got the meal plan at SW) and a few meals that werent park of our park days cost us about $1100 for 3 people. Adding ONE extra day at Disneys Yacht Club with tix and dining plan was $1000. We opted for 4 extra days, then spent a week at Disney. Best vacation ever!

Well one of the main reasons to go would be for my son to have some dolphin interaction . He loves to see them when go to local aquarium... The snorkeling will be great too, he did that when typhoon lagoon still had shark reef and enjoyed it (I've done a lot of snorkeling).. But he would be estatic about dolphins.

So hard to hear about $100 days last October, and be resigned to $330... Know supply and demand, but wish had better times could go.

Check with Undercover Tourist. They might have a better deal. I used them the last time we went and saved about $20 per ticket. Not much, but best price I found at the time. Beat AAA and directly through DC.

You can do the resort only package and get the dolphin interaction at Seaworld when you go. They have dolphin feeding and also a special dolphin tour that costs WAY less than the dolphin swim at DC which TBH is underwhelming.
We LOVE the resort only package, but won't do the dolphin swim ever again.

I have been checking with them... all same prices. Thought found almost a deal through coupon site, but it was Florida resident rate :(.

Will keep that in mind...

Still have a few months to decide, just wanted to check if there was anything to be on look out for.

For at least the first time, I found the dolphin swim to be worthwhile. You get to touch the dolphin several times plus get the fin pull swim. It is a fair amount of time in the water with the dolphin.
