Everybody loves the classics. You know, the films that people rattle off first when you ask them to name some Disney favorites: Snow White, Cinderella, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Frozen, Aladdin, etc.
But, we all have a Disney film we consider "underrated." For me, it's Disney's take on the classic King Arthur....The Sword in the Stone. The scene with Merlin battling Mim is one of my favorite all time movie scenes! So, I'm interested.... what's your favorite low key Disney film and why??

The Great Mouse Detective. Really fun, great characters; Basil and Olivia are a couple of my favorites.

I also really like Meet the Robinsons - kind of uneven, but Lewis and Wilbur are great and I love the Bowler Hat Guy and his story arc
especially since I realized who he was well before the reveal.
And his "Don't let it go" speech is classic.

I love Sword in the Stone and Great Mouse Detective!
Also:
Oliver & Company
Adventures of Ichibod Crane

There's also tons of old live-action movies I love:
Bednobs and Broomsticks
the original Parent Trap
The Rocketeer (not quite so old, but certainly not well-loved.)

The Incredible Journey! People only seem to talk about the remake (Homeward Bound), but the original is one of my all-time favorite movies.

A Goofy Movie was overlooked for years as well, but I am glad that people are coming to their senses and realizing that it has some of the best music out of all the Disney movies.

For me my favorite underrated Disney film is the last one made under Walt; The Happiest Millionaire.

It was released just as the "Road Show" musical was going out of style, got mixed reviews and was cut from 164 minutes to 118 minutes for wide release.

Two great Sherman Bros. songs rival anything in Mary Poppins; Fortuosity and Are We Dancing.

I have said for a long time that "A Goofy Movie is the greatest Disney movie of all time! Now that it's retro-hot, it's so nice to be able to get things like Powerline t-shirts.

My mom loves this movie, but sadly I've never seen it. I do know Fortuosity from a Disney album we bought a couple of years ago, and frequently we'll sing parts of it together.
