Question on 1099s for folks who received AMEX support clicks in 2018...

Did anybody receive a 1099 whose combined support clicks totaled less than $600 last year? Keep in mind that AMEX issued separate 1099s for each card, so you may have had an individual 1099 worth < $600 but what I'm asking is if the AGGREGATE of anybody's AMEX 1099s was < $600.

Basically, I'm trying to strategize for 2019 and if you can keep your aggregate under $600 and avoid a 1099 and I'm close to that number at the end of the year it may affect whether I do a self-support, etc.

Here is one of my favorite pics from that trip:

Love that pic! That day was such an accomplishment.

Tagging @CaliforniaGirl09 because she and her daughter hiked the Inca Trail last year with REI. We did a little hiking on our trip but only a very small portion of the Inca Trail around Machu Picchu. Our trip focused on the Sacred Valley, Ollaytantambo, Machu Picchu and Cusco (including Sacsayhuaman). Plus we did an extension to the Amazon. We loved Peru and could definitely see going back.
We did the Salkantay Trek, which goes on some of the Inca Trail, but is distinct. It was incredible, but strenuous. We got to over 15,000 feet one day. Loved the trip, and it was very nice as we stayed at mountain lodges every night rather than camping.

I think I’m going to go for a CIP #2. I got my 1st 5/2018 and DH (reluctantly) got his 6/2018.
I plan on closing mine once the AF hits, DH’s too. So I want to go for #2 while I can still use the support links. I think I’m going to use his link and try it end of April (maybe sooner), while my 1st is still open. Sound like an ok plan?

For the record:
Me
05/18 CIP
08/18 CSR
08/18 CSP
11/18 SW Plus
01/19 SW biz

DH
06/18 CIP
03/19 CSP

Looks like a good plan you will be 3 months from your SW business application.....

I think I'm decided. If it shows up online, I will get it. I have AP if it's on the app and I have a $20 merchandise credit I need to use on Shop Disney. I can use my Christmas money I've been holding on to.

Plus buy a discounted Disney gift card for further savings. I bought some stuff last minute during the $25 off $100 sale (kids swim suits, etc) and last minute remembered to use my already discounted Disney gift card.

Has anyone been to Treasure Island, FL? Stayed at the Residence Inn? Debating between there and Clearwater Beach for 3 nights in June.

Hi, I wanted to see if anyone on here is familiar with Albuquerque, NM? We are planning a trip out west for 2 weeks in August. We were going to do San Diego/Grand Canyon/Vegas but now are considering doing Albuquerque/Petrified Forest/Grand Canyon/Vegas. We really want to do "out west" things, so that is the reason for forgetting about California (plus the super high prices for everything). Albuquerque looks like there is so much to do there. Any suggestions on researching what to see and where to visit on our way to Grand Canyon and then our final destination of Las Vegas? Thank you for any suggestions

Need your help again. Planning on an Alaskan cruise summer of 2020. Just starting to research. So confusing. From reading I know we should do a cruise that goes through Glacier Bay. And lots recommend starting or ending in Vancouver and not Seattle. So trying to figure out my options for airfare. Would be flying from MSP.

Is Alaska Air a good option? I see I could get the business card and get 40,000 points and you get a companion pass on your anniversary date, which you can’t use points for. So could pay cash to Anchorage on one flight and get the other just for taxes and then use the points for the Vancouver portion. Only bad thing is that I can’t use the companion pass for a year so wouldn’t be able to book that flight until only a few months before cruise. So not sure if that would work. I am one to book flight the moment they are released. Any suggestions on this?

Other points I currently have:
UR - 450,000 with 50,000 more from DH’s Ink business card we just got
MR - I have about 95,000 and DH has about 35,000 ( could cash these out for Carnival gift cards 1:1 ratio and use for Princess Cruise)
Delta - about 70,000 points
AA - I have about 130,000 and DH about 50,000. Going to work on getting more
Cap one - have $850 available
Bonvoy- have about 450,000 points but don’t think they would do much.

I am at 5/24 with 2 cards falling off in May and June. So can only get non Chase business cards right now. Will also be getting 2 SW cards end of year to get companion pass again.

DH is at 4/24 with a card falling off in May. Just got him the Ink Business Card and almost have the spend done.

We both have 2 CIP cards already.

Sorry this is so long. Looking at what cards we should get. Is Alaska card a good option and does the Business card report to the credit bureaus or not.

Also any tips on what to look for when booking an Alaska cruise. Would be nice to book cruise using URs with CSR but that option is not available for 2020 right now. Hoping it is temporary. Thanks everyone.

DH and I each had AMEX clicks but under $600 total. Neither of us got 1099s.

in my opinion, i think your moving too fast with Chase... id apply more chase under DH instead until some of those cards drop off the for the year.

Cool! Thanks!!
some interesting thought for my situation... i did not get any 1099s despite that fact that i should... but i did notice all my referrals were biz cards only(Amex SPG biz and CIP)
only got 1 CFU referral.

Turns out I did not read the AMEX offers correctly. I did get a 75k Plat offer to pull up at work the other day, but I also thought I did with a support link... but it was for the biz card. D'oh!

Yup :) Your idea has crossed my mind due to that. I got 5 total, 4 pre Aug and 1 after, and Dh got 2 after the Aug merger date.
Amex support clicks are definitely more rare now than they used to be. I’m going to try to split beteeen players and If either of us get to $500 late in the year I might pull my links. Barely clicking over $600 is one of those rare instances where earning a little but could actually net cost you money on your taxes lol!

Nothing to see here...just trying to clear my quotes

And it's too beautiful today to stay inside.

Dear Son and girlfriend are in DC and sending me cherry blossom texts. 'Almost' making me want to go, but the thought of that traffic jam will send me to the backyard where I can enjoy peach blossoms instead. Missing the days when I could park in front of Jefferson and freely see whatever I felt like. Now it's all walled off and you have to walk or take a tour.

Just did DHs Citi biz app. I got a $7k higher credit limit, this may be the first time ever mine is higher on the same card so I get to give him crap for that right?

Sooo what does everyone do with old expired passports that have had holes punched in them because you got your new one? Like luckily for me I had mine from when I was 15 when I got a new one in 2015 at 24, so I could use it as my identity documentation. Now this time I had to send in the current passport plus my marriage license. So now I have 3 total in my file lol
