Not sure if this is allowed so delete if it isn't. I'm just wondering does anyone ever go on non Disney holdiays to European countries and if so where is your favourite place to go and favourite things to do?

I'm a huge Disney fan, but could hardly ever to afford to go to DLP never mind WDW! (First visit in two years time). I wanted to go for my honeymoon next March but we are going to Madrid. I have been to Canary Islands (Still Spain really isn't it?) and Poland. I enjoy travelling to different places for different cultures and to view what different cities have to offer but look so forward to a luxury holiday that WDW is (to me). Mine and DF's next plan after WDW is to go to Barcelona, Amsterdam, Norway.

My husband and I LOVE Iceland. We normally go in February, and do the tours and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings. :) We're not going back next year, as we have two weeks booked at WDW (rather than 1- last year we did 3 nights in Iceland and 7 nights at WDW).

We love little breaks to London as well as exploring closer to home.

We are thinking of doing a city break to Paris in October (no DLP though). DBF has never been and would love to go. Other places we would love to visit is Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Copenhagen, Iceland & the Fjords.

Plenty! Rome is my absolute favourite and really would love to go back again next year for a cheapish break.

Ive also visited Greece (Kefalonia and mainland), Dublin, Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, Ireland, Belguim.... and regularly go to France (about 5 hours frive from dlrp, boo!).

I'm keen to hit up Berlin, Reykjavik, Norway and also hope to stay at the ice hotel in the next few years.

Been to various in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Greece, Spain...and never been back to any city for a second visit (other than DLP!).
Of those, Germany is my favourite - but no desire to go back to the same places.
Orlando, meanwhile...;-)
We select our destination based on the latest low-cost airline sale. Got a couple more European breaks coming up this summer - cheaper than holidaying in the UK.

I don't go often but I have been to both Oslo in Norway and Aarhus in Denmark in the last few years and loved them both but they are expensive.

My parents go more often and they are currently raving about their latest trips to Krakow (Poland), Budapest (Hungary) and Talin (Estonia)

I've been all around Europe but my last few holidays were Orlando, Orlando, Paris, California though this will be the first year in about 5 or 6 years I haven't been to a Disney park during a holiday :o In Europe besides Paris my favourite place is Venice.

I am Dutch, so we have visited my family a few times(not nearly as many times as I'd like). We're planning a trip for next April, it will be the first time they are meeting our daughter :)

I Love City breaks , been to barcelona, Spain, Canary islands, iceland, krakow few years ago.
Barcalona is my favourite destination.

We are planning a holiday in june for algarve, Budapest or any other europe city not yet decided.I am So Excited:).

We’ve been to France a lot over the years - I have a fondness for the language and culture so it’s the perfect destination for me. We love the south for the glorious weather - Cannes is one of my favourite places to go. We have also lately gone to Paris/ Disneyland which has been fun. We’ve also been to Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Sardinia - but France will always be my favourite. It’s definitely worth making the most of our easy access to the rest of Europe though - only a 40 minute train journey on the Eurotunnel and most countries are within driving distance from there!

Not a full holiday but have done 4 night stays in Rome and Salzburg and loved them both.

My best holiday in recent years was Paphos in Cyprus. We stayed all-inclusive at the Olympic Lagoon hotel, and it was incredible. Fantastic hotel, food, entertainment and drinks. Can really recommend it.

We’re off to Lanzarote on Saturday. We have been many times. Probably more than Florida.

Well if you love Disney holidays as you love the Theme Park experience either as or part of the holiday there are loads of other destinations that can fulfil this desire.

For full holiday we go to Costa Duarada in Spain (Salou area), just over an hour south of Barcelona. The theme park is Port Aventura. Many years ago it was owned by Universal and now also has a Ferrari Land add on theme park (its add on as not big enough to be considered a whole day park and they give you access to main park with majority if not all of tickets for it. For me this parks shows are equal to Disney, just lacking their quality of characters, but the park does have some.

Or in France near Poitiers Futuroscope is pretty good for couple of days, although in quieter times you can pretty much do it in 1. I went there last year having been previously about 20 years before and was surprised to find it had all bar 1 or 2 attractions been completely rebuilt. Technology is at the heart of this park. Like DLP they use Lineberty (think online on day FP booking) but unlike DLP you could book all rides on it on the day we went and you could book for whole party from every phone with you!

Not that far from there is the far less known Puy du Fou. I’ve not been able to get here yet, but I will one day. This is a park not like others in that there are not any Coasters or thrill rides. It’s all about different types of medieval shows. In high summer the night show Cinescene I’m told by French relatives is amazing and what is most unique about that show is that all its performers are complete amateurs and paid nothing for doing it. Indeed the park grew out of them doing this show, which is changed every year so I understand.

I absolutely love the Greek Islands, favourite being Crete. Italy is fabulous especially just over the French border which also gives the opportunity to visit Monaco.

I've been to Puy du Fou and it's an amazing park. The show quality rival Disney, even if of a completely different type. They're more into history than pure entertainment, so maybe not everyone cup of tea.
Cinescenie is only on week end in high season and I haven't seen it, unfortunately, so plan accordingly if you want to see it (and everyone rave about it). The other night show they do during the week is equally impressive, the only night show I've watched that can rival Disney night shows. It is that good.

Other theme parks that Disney fans would certainly enjoy are Efteling in the Netherlands and Phantasialand in Germany. Europa park if you're more into roller coasters.

My favourite places in Europe is a tough one. I love Malta -roman walled city, medieval/crusader stuff and super easy together about by bus.
Also love Greece (though only been to islands) - seafood and history.
France is lovely, I do like my walled cities and old elaborate churches. Need to properly explore Eastern Europe, some great castles and churches there.

Have been thinking about north Italy and guardaland. Anyone been? What are the crowds like in the summer holidays?
