I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

If anyone is using Plastiq to pay taxes, it looks like today is the last day to do it. The earliest I could schedule a payment was the 15th. Plastiq shows a guaranteed delivery by April 15th, so hope that is true! Signed my DH up for a business account so I will let you know if the 10K in free dollars posts.

Anyone done a Delta AMEX with a credit offer for a Delta purchase lately? My offer is $100 back on your Delta purchased. I paid a $150 change fee to Delta, shows on my statement as Delta, but it's still not credited after several weeks and my first statement close. In the past I have always had those credit within a day or two.

In the same theme, if your neighborhood allows rentals for snowbirds etc, make sure they don't allow nightly or weekly rentals.
The company is supposed to be contacting us within 4 days to help with relocating and I’ve started making a list of things we want in a house/neighborhood. I plan to mention we want to be in an established neighborhood with mostly permanent residents

Chase bonus points seem to go pending within 3-4 business days but can take as long as a week after the qualifying charge actually posts, and you’ll remember that Chase SUBs were seeing delays of up to 2 statement cycles last August-September.

I’ve seen several reports in the past 2-3 weeks of CIP (and Chase UR cards generally?) SUBs taking longer to show up as pending. The charge that put DW over $5k on her CIP#2 posted on 4/3, but I’m still waiting for the bonus to go pending. (For comparison, recently, @Calfan’s DH met the MSR on his CIP#2 around 3/20 and she saw the bonus pending around 3/25.) It does feel like it’s taking longer than usual, but in my case it hasn’t even been a week yet. Since this is your first CIP and you’re also seeing some delay, I think it may just be a general slowdown vs. anything specific to multiple CIPs.
This makes me feel better! IDK why, but I feel like I get so paranoid that its not going to work after all the planning and tracking. Its not like I need these 80,000 URs immediately, it would just look nice having them all combined and showing an additional $800 or $1,200 when used towards travel in the UR portal LOL.

Sounds like your wife and I are only a day apart from meeting the final spend so hopefully the bonuses post around the same time.

My next plan was the CIC. I'm just shy of 3 months (opened the CIP on MLK day) so I was thinking 5/1 sounds good.

The wedding we went to last year was in Melbourne Beach. We didn't go into Melbourne at all, stayed on the little strip of beach. We did rent a Mustang convertible and ride in our 5.0 with the ragtop down so our hair could blow on A1A - Beachfront avenue. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: And you and @Haley R are probably too young and don't know what the heck I am talking about.

Vanilla Ice Ice baby.
Lol I know what that is. Not too young for that one

That's kind of funny, that's how we found out it was a whole family unit, when a couple of the young-ins got into an empty trash can. Said empty can was 4 feet off the ground on top of a wood box that happened to sit under our bathroom window. It was one of the few ways that we rotated keeping the little critters out. Well somehow the little guys got in there, don't know if it was on there own or joint effort but we noticed them all when big mama (or maybe it was papa) was balancing on the rim of the can chittering/squawking at the two babies in the can with papa(mama) on the ground looking on. I don't know how they got out but they were gone in the morning. I think they were trying a racoon ladder. I was young so I don't recall if that actually succeeded or if we found other solutions with the can. They are industrious little guys. Over the Hedge did not seem farfetched at all
I never notice raccoons at our house but one time I was walking on the sidewalk and there was one on the roof of a house that hissed at me. It scared the living crap out of me and I switched sides of the road so fast lol (fast walk, not run so I wouldn’t be chased)

We get a lot of deer in our yard. We’ve had as many as 7 at one time

I met the MSR on my dd's CIP 4/3 (purchase posted) and I still am not seeing her SUB. This is CIP#1 for her. Just a delay it seems.

I know that the rule/recommendation is to open Chase cards spread 3 months apart however is there any reason that I should not go for a Citi Biz in the middle? I am doing a 2 player thing right now and currently my wife is working on her first ink and I was going to have her refer me for my second ink in a month or so but I don't think it will be an issue for us to hit 2 MSR at the same time. Hopefully that made sense.

Side note...all the talk of bonus' on next statements had me look back at mine and it went up from 84k to 104k for the referral bonus!

hitting MSR...that post made me:rotfl: I keep track of my payments on the cc I'm working on,easy way to know if you've gotten there yet....(except last week when I kept miscalculating on our WoH card, and now I have 3 $20 purchases to get over that line....)

That's how I do it. I track my payments until I reach the MSR taking into account AF and any statement credits. I always go over just in case. So much easier than adding up purchases.

Awe, thanks! I think so too! If anyone interested in wines of the Stellenbosch region, I think she is becoming quite the expert. lol

I think Disney does a lot of South African wines but not sure what regions they come from. I'll pay more attention on my next trip.

Not only is there no reason to NOT do it...we'd actually advise you TO DO it :) That's a great way to keep your pacing good with Chase. Other than a potential inquiry on your report, Chase won't see the account, it preserves your 5/24 status and is a GREAT strategy :)

Stellenbosch is like their Napa Valkey I think. As you can see from her blog, lots of vineyards in that area. I’m learning things as she is posting, so I don’t know much about South Africa wines in general. I don’t think I’ve ever had one.

I can't think of Melbourne without thinking of 'I dream of Jeannie'. When I would go to Vero Beach after a Disney trip, I would leave by driving up A1A, but not in a 5.0.

Reposting a comment I made for a related issue on DISchurners:

There have been lots of reports of Chase bonuses not going pending longer than usual, and these reports of delays aren’t limited to only MDD and CIPpy cup cards, but those are being affected too.

I don’t know if I can pinpoint when these delays started happening, but they might be inconsistent.

@Calfan recently reported that she met the MSR on P2’s CIP#2 on 3/20 and saw the SUB pending on 3/25. @FloridaNative8 just reported that P2’s CIP (I believe #1) SUB posted.

However, @CyndiLouWho posted last night that her mom hit the MSR on a CSP on or about 3/26, but is still not seeing the SUB pending.

@PolyRob reported that he met the MSR on his CIP#1 around 4/2, but his SUB is not yet pending.

The charge that put my P2’s CIP#2 over the MSR posted on 4/3, but the SUB is still not showing as pending as of this morning.

There are several reports of delayed SUBs on Reddit too:

If you have additional DPs to contribute, that would help!

I would agree with @SouthFayetteFan that if Chase isn’t going to award you a SUB because you applied for a card for which you didn’t qualify for the bonus, they have other mechanisms to do this, like with a pop up warning for the Marriott cards, denying an application as with the one Sapphire rule, or outright closing a card with the DD.

I’m going to keep tracking this potential issue, and just be patient personally. For folks working on MSRs for their CIP#2s, these reports of delayed SUBs is something to be aware of but I wouldn’t worry about it too much right now because it seems to be affecting plain old CSP and CF applications too. When Chase delayed SUBs last August-September, the SUBs did eventually post.

With my CIP#2, met the min spend on 3/26 and still have not seen the SUB pending.

Thank you!

Quick follow up....better to do the 40k offer with the statement credit and hope for a match or just do the 70k offer....does it basically boil down to the effort and being approved for a match (+20 I think)?

Disney Hotels are BACK on AAVacations.com (tagging @Natgridenergy)

Also when you book...make sure you search for 1 adult and/or 2 adults only and check that miles price on that before you book to make sure you aren't being charged incorrectly. :teacher: That site can be WEIRD...here's some scenarios I priced out recently and watch how goofy it can get: (tagging @wendow)

DATES = Aug 11 - Aug 15th; Garden View @ Yacht Club

  • 1 Adult = 240,600 miles
  • 2 Adults = 240,700 miles
  • 2 Adults + 1 Child Age 0-5 = 240,700 miles
  • 2 Adults + 1 Child Age 6-9 = 245,500 miles
  • 2 Adults + 1 Child Age 10+ = 257,400 miles
  • 3 Adults = 257,400 miles
  • 2 Adults + 2 Children age 6 & 7 = 240,700 miles (so having 2 children costs less than 1??)
  • 2 Adults + 2 Children age 8 & 14 = 257,500 miles (so the older child costs something but the younger is free)
I can't actually figure out what is happening here...that's why I advise you to do a search on the 1 adult and/or 2 adult price. We know that adding kids should not add to your cost so don't pay more miles for nothing. As to all the goofiness above...I have no idea! I guess an option would be booking your kids as "4 years old" even if they're older just to get them on the reservation. Or you could book without kids and try to add later. Since you can't add dining or tickets it doesn't much matter. You want them on the room though if you're using EMHs I think.

EDIT: @PolyRob points out about DME too...gotta get it fixed for that!
